Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Otsutuki Race (Bonus Chapter)
Outside the Door-Door Space
Magellan grew uneasy when Chiga didn't come out. He turned to Kalifa and asked,
"They've been in there for quite a while now. Has something gone wrong?"
Kalifa glanced at him, then kept her gaze fixed on the opening of the Door-Door Space. She replied calmly,
"No. The boss is the strongest. He won't fail."
"But I'm still a bit worried. Do you know how to enter that space?"
"That's the boss's ability. Unless he permits it, no one can enter."
Magellan looked at Chiga's unyielding little secretary, feeling both annoyed and helpless, but he didn't dare show it. After all, he knew exactly how protective Uchiha Chiga was of his own.
As Chiga's name spread across the seas, journalists scrambled to cover everything about him—from his personality to his hobbies. Though the details varied wildly, a few key facts stood out: Chiga was fiercely loyal to his people.
So, no matter how anxious he was, he didn't dare show it around her. All he could do now was stare with his beady eyes—comically small for his huge body—as he watched the Door-Door Space alongside Kalifa.
Fortunately, Chiga didn't make him wait long. A moment later, he walked out.
But both Magellan and Kalifa froze when they saw his face. Magellan even forgot to ask what happened to Bullet.
Kalifa immediately stepped forward, gently touching a raised bump on the right side of Chiga's forehead—like he'd taken a punch.
Softly stroking the bump, she asked with concern,
"Boss, are you hurt?"
Chiga looked confused. His forehead had only felt a little itchy earlier, and when he'd touched it, he hadn't felt anything strange. How had a bump grown so quickly?
He replayed his fight with Bullet in his mind—he hadn't taken a single hit. The entire battle had been a complete domination.
With his current physique, a bump like this was almost impossible unless the injury was far more serious. But seeing the worry in Kalifa's eyes, he felt warmth spread through his chest.
He took her hand gently.
"I'm fine. Bullet's already been executed. Now let me take a look at this bump."
Kalifa nodded and pulled a small compact mirror from her pocket, handing it to him.
Chiga held it up to his forehead. Sure enough, there was a red bump. It didn't hurt—just itched a little.
Then, a strange thought crossed his mind. A vision of the Otsutsuki race—those tree-planting celestial beings.
Quickly, he examined his hands. Was it his imagination, or had his skin become... whiter?
"Kalifa, do I look paler to you?" he asked.
Kalifa blinked, tilting her head cutely. She leaned in and scrutinized his face again and again.
Yes, now that she looked closely, Chiga did seem whiter than before. His already handsome features looked even more divine.
She stared, utterly mesmerized.
Chiga waved his hand in front of her.
"Kalifa, what's wrong? Did I get paler or not?"
"So handsome… I mean, yes! Your skin really has gotten whiter!"
Chiga ignored the first comment. He already knew his face was striking—what mattered now was that his skin tone had indeed changed. Along with the bump on his forehead, he was now almost certain—
His body had begun to shift into Otsutsuki mode.
Magellan, who had been watching the strange interaction, stepped forward and asked hesitantly,
"Chiga, you've already taken down Bullet, right? What about his body?"
"I'm keeping it for something else. Don't worry, he's definitely dead."
Without waiting for a reply, Chiga turned to him with serious eyes—eyes now filled with the power of the Rinnegan.
Magellan's spine stiffened. Every hair on his body stood on end. He gulped.
Then Chiga said,
"Magellan. Use your Devil Fruit power on me."
"Nani?!"
Magellan recoiled, confused. Had Chiga lost it?
The Venom-Venom Fruit was so deadly that even Magellan himself was cautious with it. And now Chiga wanted him to use it on him?
Glancing at the bump on Chiga's forehead, Magellan muttered under his breath,
"Did Bullet hit his head before dying or something?"
But Chiga was dead serious.
"I have something to confirm. Just use your ability. I'll be fine."
His voice carried a divine calm—cold, majestic, and utterly commanding.
Kalifa watched, worried. Chiga seemed... different. Like someone else had taken over.
Magellan, too, was shaken. That voice—he felt as if refusing would invite divine wrath.
His throat went dry. He tore his gaze away from the Rinnegan and finally nodded.
"If you say so! If you get poisoned, I'll find you an antidote."
Purple venom began to ooze from Magellan's right arm, its deadly aura filling the air. Anyone contaminated would die a slow, agonizing death without a cure.
But Chiga frowned.
"Not enough. Don't you have a more potent red venom? Use that."
Magellan's jaw clenched. How did Chiga even know about that?
But he didn't argue. The venom turned red, sizzling as it hit the ground.
Now satisfied, Chiga turned to Kalifa.
"Kalifa, head inside the Door-Door Space. This venom is too dangerous to risk."
Kalifa didn't hesitate. She nodded and walked into the Door-Door Space.
Once inside, she finally relaxed, a faint smile on her lips.
Just now, Chiga's tone had genuinely scared her. She thought he might have changed somehow—become something else.
But those words of care confirmed he was still her boss—the kindest man she knew.
The best boss in the world.
