After giving his instructions, Chiga didn't linger in the room. Dealing with those people was far less appealing than finding Charlos and enjoying the extravagant life of a Celestial Dragon.

After Chiga left, the blonde Gorosei's face was filled with anger. He said loudly,

"You all saw it. This Uchiha Chiga is an uncontrollable individual. Are we just going to let him stay comfortably in the Navy?"

The long-bearded Gorosei and the one with the birthmark, who had been mostly silent, nodded in agreement.

Chiga's attitude had made it clear. He had no respect whatsoever for the World Government.

The white kimono-clad Gorosei and the black flat-hat Gorosei exchanged glances. Finally, the one in the white kimono spoke slowly,

"Regarding Uchiha Chiga, it's best not to touch him until Im-sama gives clear instructions. Letting him go to Onigashima this time was already our own initiative."

The birthmark Gorosei saw no issue with that and responded directly,

"That's understandable. Everyone knows the importance of the Op-Op Fruit. It must remain in the hands of the World Government!"

The blonde and long-bearded Gorosei also nodded.

"Indeed. This Uchiha Chiga has been collecting powerful Devil Fruits. I don't believe he wouldn't be tempted by the Op-Op Fruit."

"Perhaps he's already eaten it. His abilities seem endless. That Kaido might very well be a fake!"

As the conversation grew more heated, the black flat-hat Gorosei's expression darkened.

It was rare for the five of them to argue, and they hadn't expected this level of discord over Uchiha Chiga.

Still, he supported the white kimono Gorosei. Im's will must never be defied.

Thinking of this, he spoke in a low voice,

"Enough. If you truly want to act against Uchiha Chiga, then go speak with Im-sama yourselves."

Hearing him mention Im again, the blonde Gorosei's face twisted with frustration.

"Don't always bring up Im-sama! Are you his spokesperson now!?"

Before the flat-hat Gorosei could respond, the blonde Gorosei's expression suddenly contorted in pain. He collapsed onto the sofa, writhing uncontrollably.

The others jumped in alarm, but quickly understood—this was Im-sama's punishment.

Im-sama was already displeased.

As the blonde Gorosei continued to thrash in agony, the other four quickly rose, knelt down, and pleaded loudly,

"Im-sama, we've overstepped. Please be merciful—spare him this time!"

At times like this, their unity was absolute.

Because none of them could guarantee they wouldn't be next. Saving the blonde Gorosei now meant protecting themselves in the future.

Even after they finished pleading, the pain didn't stop immediately. Only after a while did the blonde Gorosei's agony slowly subside.

Now pale and trembling, he still forced himself up and knelt with the others, bowing his head repeatedly in apology.

The others looked grim. This was the price of disobeying Im-sama.

They all understood clearly—though they were nominally the supreme leaders of the World Government, in front of Im-sama, they were nothing more than loyal hounds.

If they ever incurred his wrath, their fate would be no better than the enslaved.

The Gorosei remained kneeling until a cold voice echoed in their minds,

"Do not interfere with Uchiha Chiga's matters anymore. As for him, I have my own arrangements."

The moment the voice faded, the five felt a wave of relief, as if they had been pardoned. They bowed several times before slowly rising.

The white kimono Gorosei glanced at the still-shaking blonde Gorosei and said lightly,

"Do you understand Im-sama's meaning now?"

Pale and fearful, the blonde Gorosei didn't dare respond with anything but a nod.

The others, especially the birthmark and long-bearded Gorosei, were even more subdued.

They had spoken boldly just minutes earlier. That they hadn't been punished was pure luck. None of them dared to say another word.

Still, the hatred in their hearts toward Uchiha Chiga only deepened. But now, the stronger their hatred, the more bitter it became.

It was like knowing a child wasn't yours, yet still having to raise him. Utterly unbearable.

Mariejois – Room of Flowers

On a high triple-tiered platform sat a slender, shadowy figure.

Only his eyes were visible—red pupils surrounded by two black ripple-like rings.

This figure was the true ruler of the World Government—Im.

If Chiga were present, he would have been stunned by Im's eyes. In his memory, Im's eyes were golden. Since when had they turned red like a Sharingan?

(Actually, Chiga had been misled by fan speculation online before he transmigrated. He never reached this part of the story. The golden eyes were imagined by fans—the latest chapters reveal Im's eyes to be red.)

Im's entire body was cloaked in shadow, making his features impossible to discern.

Gazing at the empty hall, he muttered to himself,

"A bunch of meddling fools. Compared to Uchiha Chiga, you're worthless."

He had just taught the blonde Gorosei a painful lesson. If that fool interfered again, he'd be replaced—permanently.

Im shook his head and continued,

"You really think you can control Uchiha Chiga? I've never heard of an Uchiha clan before, but just based on those eyes, there's a high chance he comes from the same place as me. Do you understand what that implies?"

This time, Im's tone shifted—it sounded like an entirely different person was speaking.

And sure enough, his body began to tremble. The next voice came through gritted teeth,

"It's not your place to tell me what to do. You're just a parasite barely clinging to life in my body!"

"Heh, I'm a parasite? Then what are you? Without me, you'd still be Joy Boy's lapdog… or whatever his name was."

That struck a nerve. A strange red gleam flickered in Im's eyes. Gradually, the trembling stopped.

He exhaled slowly and said in a cold, venomous voice,

"In the end, we're both traitors. But the difference is—I succeeded. And you'll only ever be a stepping stone on my path to evolution."
