Chapter 116: Chapter 116:You Look Pretty Cute.
Nerona didn't take Chiga directly to the Five Elders. Instead, she pulled him toward her palace.
Since it was getting late, she figured they might as well stay the night and have dinner.
Naturally, she wouldn't be inviting her brother or father to the meal.
Chiga didn't know this was Nerona's own idea. He assumed it was part of the Five Elders' arrangements, so he followed without question.
Upon entering the main hall of Nerona's palace, Chiga immediately spotted a doll on the central sofa—and his expression darkened.
Although the doll looked rather abstract, he could tell it was modeled after him, thanks to the clearly drawn "Rinnegan" eyes on its face.
What made it worse was the dampness on the doll's face. It was clear Nerona had been hugging it to sleep often.
What the hell was wrong with this woman? After being threatened a few times and slapped once, not only did she not hate him—she seemed to have developed... feelings.
Nerona, walking behind him, noticed Chiga standing still with a strange expression. Curious, she peeked around his shoulder—and then froze when she saw the doll.
Her eyes widened. Forgetting her bulky "space suit," she lunged forward to snatch the doll away.
But just as she moved, Chiga grabbed the back of her collar. Luckily, her outfit was sturdy enough not to tear—otherwise, it would've been quite the scene.
Held by the collar, Nerona didn't dare turn around to face him. For the first time in her life, she wanted to crawl into a hole.
This was true social death.
Chiga pressed a hand to her bubble helmet again. This time, instead of twisting it, he pressed down and popped it off with a flick of his wrist.
With a soft pop, the helmet detached and landed in Chiga's hand.
Nerona didn't seem to care. Celestial Dragons typically wore bubble helmets to avoid breathing the same air as commoners, but here, it was just her and Chiga. She had dismissed the guards earlier—why would she need them with him around?
Wasn't it nice to breathe the same air as Chiga?
Instead of panicking, she took a deep breath, as though relieved to be free of the helmet.
Chiga, now standing behind her, furrowed his brow at her sky-high hairstyle.
"What the hell is that hairstyle? It's hideous."
"Nani?! This is a traditional Celestial Dragon style! A symbol of—"
"Hmm?"
"…If you think it's ugly, I'll just let it down!"
Nerona twisted free from his grip, spun around, and glared playfully at him.
She tried to fix her hair, but it was so stiff with hairspray it wouldn't budge. The more she worked at it, the messier it got. Tears welled up in her eyes.
Chiga blinked in disbelief. Was she really about to cry over her hair?
Shaking his head, he formed a few hand seals with one hand. A wall of water appeared beside her.
"Water Release: Water Formation Wall."
Nerona looked at the water, then up at Chiga with pitiful, pleading eyes.
He sighed. "Just use the water. Do you not have basic common sense?"
"Oh…"
She reached into the wall of water, scooped some into her hands, and began dampening her hair.
Sure enough, with a little water, her hair began to fall naturally. A few gentle strokes later, her voluminous hairstyle was undone.
With her golden-orange hair now falling loosely around her shoulders, she gave it a small shake to get the water out.
Chiga almost cast Great Fireball Jutsu just to dry it.
Nerona looked at him shyly, thinking she must look terrible with such a plain hairstyle.
But to Chiga, she actually looked... good.
She was already beautiful—especially by Celestial Dragon standards, where most of them looked like they'd come from centuries of inbreeding. Compared to them, Nerona was striking.
With her hair down, her whole vibe changed. She actually looked peaceful.
That is... as long as she didn't talk.
Seeing Chiga not saying anything, Nerona assumed the worst.
She pouted. "I knew it… This commoner hairstyle really doesn't suit me."
"Who said that? I think you look pretty cute like this."
"Hmph, it's not like I— Eh?"
It was the first compliment Chiga had ever given her. She froze, momentarily stunned.
Chiga had already walked past her, too lazy to deal with her dramatics, and began wandering around the lavish palace.
Nerona snapped out of her daze and lit up. She quickly turned and followed him.
"This is my room! Isn't it beautiful? Just like me, right?"

At dinner, Chiga and Nerona sat across from each other at the far ends of a long table.
Chiga focused on his food. He had to admit—Celestial Dragon chefs were top-tier. The dishes were perfect in color, aroma, and taste.
Nerona, on the other hand, picked at her plate. She'd grown up with these dishes and had long gotten sick of them.
Her attention was entirely fixed on Chiga.
She had been born at the top of the world—spoiled, pampered, and protected from any hardship. Everyone around her bowed to her whims.
Then came that night in Sabaody—when Chiga nearly killed her. It was the first time someone had looked her in the eye without fear.
She'd even tried to show him kindness, and he hadn't responded.
Unable to approach him directly, she resorted to gathering information about him—through servants, newspapers, or anyone who mentioned his name.
She had watched him rise from a mere Marine Captain in Sabaody to the Navy's sole Admiral Candidate in under two years.
Even other Celestial Dragons had started to pay attention to him.
After all, Admirals were the highest combat force in the Marines. When Celestial Dragons encountered danger, it was Admirals who came to their rescue.
Most pirates didn't fear Celestial Dragons—but they feared invoking the wrath of a Marine Admiral.
And on top of that, Chiga was young, powerful... and undeniably handsome.
Nerona had even heard that some female Celestial Dragons had started to take an interest in him.
The thought made her curl her lip in disgust.
"They should take a look in the mirror. They all look like that pirate hag, Big Mom."
