One Piece: Revenge of the Slaves

Chapter 132: OPRS: Chapter 132

"Heh heh…another ten million Berries," a girl with orange hair said, lying on a small sailboat, using her feet to control the sail, heading towards her destination. She knew this area well; she could navigate to Arlong blindfolded, but she wouldn't go directly there. Her treasure chest held over ten million Berries; she would bury it in Cocoyasi Village before giving Arlong the maps from her latest voyage.

It was unavoidable; her survival depended on it. She didn't know that three years later, a Straw Hat-wearing hero would arrive and defeat Arlong. She didn't know Cocoyasi Village had changed.

"BOOM!" A cannon blast startled her. "That direction!" She instantly pinpointed the explosion's location—a top navigator's skill. Besides auditory location, judging direction at sea is essential; excellent navigators have an innate sense of location. She was the strongest navigator in the One Piece world; her talent was unparalleled. Even Shiki valued this skill; her navigation was exceptional.

She spotted the explosion at Cocoyasi Village and steered towards it. Nojiko, Genzo, don't be hurt! she worried.

Faster than her was a boy running towards Arlong. He was the boy who'd made a face at Nojiko; fourteen, a year younger than Nami, he was brave and clever. He ran, drenched in sweat, into Arlong, shouting, "Arlong! Arlong! Pirates attacked our village! Please help!"

Arlong, a large, purple-skinned shark-fishman, opened his eyes, looking at the boy. A feeling of satisfaction washed over him. These humans had come to him for help. Even more amusing, they'd been pushed to this point by other humans.

In the fish-man world, no one would push their own kind this far; Arlong dismissed the humans' numbers, labeling them inferior; he couldn't imagine a fish-man, fueled by his racism, would later slaughter and enslave his own people.

He laughed triumphantly. "Why would I save inferior humans?!" The nearby fish-men laughed. Humans were slaves, inferior to their sea beasts; their fate was irrelevant.

The boy's face showed anger; if not for the ambush, he would have retorted. But he remained calm, finding a reason to persuade Arlong. "Arlong, we're your valuable property! If we die, your monthly taxes will decrease!"

100,000 per person; it wasn't a tax; even the most ruthless kings wouldn't tax this much; it was extortion, ransom! His nails dug into his flesh; anger welled up; his genuine emotion excited the fish-men; they loved this helplessness.

Satisfied, Arlong gestured to Kuroobi, a sawshark fish-man. "Kuroobi, take some men to the port; if it's a big pirate crew, give them some face; if it's small, bring them back to feed to the sheep."

Kuroobi, 2.3 meters tall, looked at the boy, who reached his thigh; he nodded, choosing seven fish-men. "Let's go."

"Hurry!" the boy urged.

"No need to rush," Kuroobi said, walking slowly towards Cocoyasi Village.

The boy ran ahead, turning to see the slow fish-men; he stomped his feet in frustration. The fish-men laughed, unhurried. He was anxious but secretly pleased; this was the perfect distance.

The path from Arlong to Cocoyasi Village was through forest and paddy fields; to the right were cultivated fields; to the left, undeveloped forest. The boy ran, but the open fields allowed the fish-men to see him. He waved and shouted, making the fish-men laugh; the pirates were insignificant…

But as they passed a point…a red flag appeared in a paddy field. "What's that?"

The fish-men turned, surprised by the flag, appearing seemingly out of nowhere. From the forest behind them, musket fire erupted. The fish-men felt sharp pain; seven fell dead. Kuroobi, severely injured, looked back at the trembling villagers, their smoking muskets pointed at them. Blood trickled from his mouth.

"How dare you…"
