Chapter 10: RBTC: Chapter 10
---
Loguetown wasn't that far from Sabaody Archipelago. If they had a ship with a good engine, it would take less than half a month to get there. But they were on a small sailboat, and they only arrived at Loguetown the day before the execution.
They had originally planned to pick up Crocus at Reverse Mountain, but he wasn't there. Even Laboon, who had been constantly bumping into the mountain, was gone. They couldn't wait any longer, so they decided to leave.
On the last day before the execution, they arrived at the outskirts of Loguetown's waters. They didn't plan to dock at the harbor. Instead, they found a secluded spot near the coast and used Soru (moonwalk) to fly directly into Loguetown.
This was to avoid attracting attention. At this stage, Loguetown would be under strict control. There would certainly be a large number of Marines inspecting the harbor. Rayleigh was famous throughout the entire sea. If they entered through the harbor, they would definitely attract the Marines' attention. Even if they disguised themselves, they might be spotted by the Marine higher-ups. If that happened, even if they didn't attack them immediately, they would definitely do so later. They wouldn't be able to see Roger off. To avoid trouble, they decided to use Soru to fly directly into Loguetown from a secluded location.
As they entered, it was exactly as they expected. There were Marines patrolling every street, and there wasn't a single person in sight.
They didn't dare walk openly on the streets. Instead, they hid, waiting for the patrolling Marines to pass before entering a bar.
Although the streets of Loguetown were empty, the bar was packed, even crowded. It was a real melting pot of people. Many of them had a fierce aura, clearly not good people. They were either pirates or bandits, definitely not civilians.
This was allowed by the Marines. They wanted the whole world to see the fate of Pirate King Roger, so they turned a blind eye to these people. As long as they didn't show themselves openly, the Marines didn't bother them. They were allowed to hide in these bars or inns.
As the three of them entered, the bar suddenly fell silent. Everyone looked at one of them.
They were looking at Rayleigh, of course. He was the Pirate King's right hand, the Dark King Rayleigh.
His reputation had spread throughout the sea. Many people had seen his portrait, many knew him, and many admired him.
As soon as he walked in, almost everyone recognized him. Everyone fell silent. No one made a sound.
Seeing this, Rayleigh didn't say anything. He didn't want to talk to these people. He went straight to a table and the three of them sat down.
In this crowded bar, there was no way they would have found a seat. But when Rayleigh walked over and sat down, the people already sitting there were like mice seeing a cat. They quickly moved away from their seats and didn't dare to show any displeasure.
The three of them sat down and ordered some drinks. After a while, Rayleigh left the bar, leaving Buggy and Shanks behind.
After Rayleigh left, no one in the bar bothered the two of them. Even though they looked young, no one dared to mess with them.
Not long after, Rayleigh returned.
"Rayleigh-san, where did you go?" Buggy asked curiously.
"Oh, some old friends came. I told them where we are."
The meaning of his words was clear. Buggy understood, so he didn't ask any more questions.
Not long after, several tall figures in cloaks entered the bar.
They went straight to Rayleigh's side. Buggy recognized them. They were all members of Pirate King Roger's crew.
They all looked serious. They sat down without saying anything, their eyes fixed on Rayleigh.
Rayleigh knew what those looks meant. Seeing their solemn expressions, Rayleigh said, "The captain has his own things to do. He needs to use his life to accomplish them. He won't let me interfere, and he won't let you interfere either. You just need to watch quietly. Don't cause any trouble."
"Why, Vice Captain? The captain is so strong. How could he be captured? What could he possibly have to do that requires sacrificing his own life? I haven't beaten him yet. How can this be?"
"Bullet, calm down. This is a done deal. Don't act rashly. All the Marine higher-ups are here. You can't stir up too much trouble. You can't change the captain's will. If you disrupt the captain's plan, he might be sacrificed in vain. We should all respect the captain's choice."
Everyone fell silent after hearing their conversation. They knew from their conversation that Rayleigh must know something, and it was definitely not a small matter.
"I know you have a lot of questions, and I can't answer them right now. But this is the captain's decision. You absolutely cannot disrupt it. When it's all over, you'll naturally know the outcome."
Everyone listened to Rayleigh's words. They understood the importance of this matter. The captain had his own plans, and he was willing to sacrifice his life for them. They absolutely could not disrupt it. If they did, they might ruin the captain's plan.
Time flew by. The day of the execution arrived. The square was packed with people. The entire square was jam-packed.
Buggy, Shanks, Rayleigh, and the rest of the crew were all in the crowd. Buggy saw many familiar faces in the crowd.
Not far away, there was a young man wearing a pink feathered coat, with a non-mainstream yellow hairstyle and sunglasses.
This was Donquixote Doflamingo, the Shichibukai in a few years.
There was also a tall young man with a head of hair like a green onion, a devilish appearance, two horns on the side of his forehead, pointy ears and teeth, and cross-shaped stitches resembling suture marks from his head to his neck. He wore a bat-collared shirt and Gothic-style clothing.
This was Gekko Moria, the future Shichibukai. There were many other people who would later become famous hidden in the crowd.
It was noon. A commotion broke out nearby, and the crowd automatically parted, creating a path to the execution platform.
Pirate King Roger was being escorted by a large number of Marines. He didn't look afraid or scared. Instead, he looked serious. If you didn't know better, you might think he was going to a very formal banquet.
He was also unusually calm as he walked, unlike other death row inmates who couldn't stand still. He was very relaxed, completely unlike someone about to be executed.
As Roger appeared, the noisy crowd was like it had been put on pause. Everyone stopped talking and focused their attention on him.
Soon, the path came to an end. Roger stepped onto the execution platform.
