Chapter 15: Chapter 15
From the treetop, exotic structures could be seen in the distance. They resembled South American Indian buildings but with a Chinese flair. An incredible combination!
Sal made his way toward the buildings, pushing through the dense forest filled with wild animals and poisonous insects. Ahead lay a massive city with two female guards at the city gates.
One was a hefty woman about three meters tall, resembling a gorilla, while the other was a tall beauty. Both radiated a wild energy.
Sal scratched his chin and sighed.
"This is the Island of Women... just as I imagined it."
The Island of Women, also known as Amazon Lily, was the land of the warrior tribe "Nine Snakes." As the name suggests, only women lived on this island. They were born to be warriors, bearing the burden of all family expenses and work, and even only giving birth to girls after pregnancy.
This island was located in the Calm Belt near the Grand Line. Since enormous sea kings inhabited the Calm Belt, regular ships couldn't approach the Island of Women.
Each ruling woman was called the Queen of Amazon Lily, and the current queen, Boa Hancock, was one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and was known as "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World."
Sal arrived on Amazon Lily not only to evade potential pursuit by admirals before the impending Great War but also to see the most beautiful woman in the world.
After observing for a while, he noticed that the guards were actually quite relaxed. Sal secretly took a woman's bag full of vegetables and boldly headed toward the city gates.
As he approached, the guards noticed that Sal was a guy in strange clothing but focused on the bag of food. In the end, they just watched him suspiciously as he entered, deciding he was simply an odd collector.
After all, Amazon Lily was located in the Calm Belt. Aside from Rayleigh's visit twenty years ago, no outsider, let alone a man, had set foot here. The local guards had no idea what men even looked like. They had long lived in comfort.
Entering the city, Sal attracted many curious glances, but he continued to stroll through the streets calmly. Like a blue star, he was surely experiencing intense curiosity about the country of women.
Upon reaching the city center, a place resembling a Colosseum, Sal witnessed a fight between two very different women. One was as strong as a brown bear, while the other was petite and charming.
They fought on equal terms, which sparked a storm of emotions in Sal
Suddenly, a system notification appeared:
[S-class character Doflamingo is experiencing normal emotions towards the Host—elementary surprise, experience increased by 5000]
[S-level characters are experiencing normal emotions towards the Host—elementary surprise, experience increased by 5000 x 4]
[A-level characters are experiencing normal emotions towards the Host—elementary surprise (hostility) (friendliness), experience increased by 100 x 37]
[B-level characters are experiencing normal emotions towards the Host—elementary surprise (hostility) (friendliness), experience increased by 20 x 512]
[C-level characters are experiencing normal emotions towards the Host, experience increased by 5 x 6780]
[D-level characters are experiencing normal emotions towards the Host, experience increased by 1 x 132065]
[Level Up: 51 (32065 / 38000)]
[Reached level 50, awarded a blue lottery]
This sudden upgrade, a whole 5 levels at once, momentarily stunned Sal. Then he realized what was happening and muttered under his breath:
"I didn't expect Morgans to spread the fresh newspapers so quickly... in just a few hours."
The spread of the fresh newspapers would inevitably make the killing of the Celestial Dragons by Sal known. Upon seeing the newspapers, most people would experience emotions towards Sal, which was the purpose of his actions. The consequences of killing the Celestial Dragons and being hunted by the admirals simply did not matter compared to the experience gained.
The newspapers hadn't spread everywhere yet, and in the future, the experience would continue to accumulate as everyone learns about it. As the newspapers circulated, ordinary residents would more often feel emotions towards him, bringing him experience.
Over the past few days, Sal noticed various emotional reactions in the system: surprise, hostility, friendliness, and fear. Of these, hostility, friendliness, and fear were the easiest to provoke. Surprise, as a common emotion, required much greater emotional context to reach an elementary level.
For example, the news had already spread widely at the Marine Guard Headquarters, but according to Sal's observations, at least half of the people at the headquarters did not feel any emotions towards him.
Sal sold a bag of vegetables, used the money to buy all the food available on Women's Island, and, sitting in the audience, watched the battles of the Amazon Lily women warriors with indifference.
It must be said that watching women's fights was indeed interesting, and they occasionally displayed their feminine beauty...
In the waters of Amazon Lily, near the recent corpse of a medium-sized sea king, stood two ships. One was a large warship, which only Marine Guard admirals had the right to possess.
The other was a small pirate ship with a red hull, towing two giant sea snakes. This was the ship of the kuja pirates, the means of transportation for the Queen of Amazon Lily, Boa Hancock.
At this moment, all the female pirates on the ship calmly watched their opponents from the Guard, without the slightest hostility that usually arises between pirates and the military. Their queen was one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, which was nothing more than a product of cooperation between the World Government and seven powerful pirates in the fight against the Four Emperors of the New World.
Nominally, the Seven Warlords of the Sea maintained friendly relations with the World Government and the Marine Guard, and they had the right to plunder. As long as they did not attack the states that were part of the World Government, even if the Guard was nearby, its representatives could only observe their misdeeds.
The duty of the Seven Warlords of the Sea was to help the World Government fight against minor pirates or act as support in battles against the Four Emperors.
One of the pirates from the Nine Snakes looked at the commander of the Guard with admiration and loudly declared:
"Did you kill this sea king?"
The commander of the Guard was a middle-aged man with a mustache and a saber. He was Vice Admiral Flying Squirrel, from the Marine Guard Headquarters.
Flying Squirrel loudly responded:
"Yes, I killed this sea king. I've been here for a long time waiting for your ship to arrive, but unfortunately, I waited for this sea king."
Upon hearing the answer, the pirate admired him even more. The women of the Nine Snakes valued strength above all. That's why their queen had to be the strongest woman on the island; even compared to the others, she had to be at the top.
Flying Squirrel continued:
"I am Vice Admiral Flying Squirrel, from the Marine Guard Headquarters. I'm here to take you. Come out and talk to me, Boa Hancock, from the Seven Warlords of the Sea."
Seeing that the opponent was so rude and wanted to see their leader, the pirates refused:
"I already said that the Empress will not speak with you."
Seeing the refusal, Flying Squirrel simply threw them a newspaper and said:
"The second division captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, Portgas D. Ace, will be publicly executed. The place and time have been set. This is a summons to the Seven Warlords of the Sea— a strict order from the World Government. If you refuse, the World Government will consider you to have violated the agreement of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and will strip you of your title.
"Then you will once again become ordinary pirates, hostile to the World Government and the Marine Guard. Do you understand, Boa Hancock?"
Flying Squirrel's voice carried over the sea, and the pirates of the Kuja Snakes fell silent, for they too understood well what losing the title of the Seven Warlords of the Sea could mean for Amazon Lily.
In the quiet of the pirate ship, the sound of heels echoed.
