One Piece: New Order

Chapter 105: Implementation of Shichibukai System

The Grand Line, First Half.

Rigar Island, at the harbor.

Captain of the Wind Scythe Pirates, "Whirlwind" Nigel, was directing his crew as they moved supplies.

Just then, a strange, sing-song voice called out behind him.

"Pardon the interruption, would you kindly put the handcuffs on yourself~? Wanted criminal with a bounty of 58 million, 'Whirlwind' Nigel~"

The pirate heard the voice and calmly placed his hand on the hilt of his sword as a flash of murderous intent flickered in his eyes.

In a blink, he drew his blade and slashed toward the source of the sound. A spinning crescent-shaped air blade roared toward Borsalino. The razor-sharp attack cut through his body cleanly, slicing him into pieces that scattered to the ground.

A troubled voice followed. "Oh dear~ cut into pieces in just one moment~ how annoying~"

Borsalino's fragmented body turned into sparkling particles and reformed as he extended his index finger toward Nigel. Golden light, shaped like a glowing cross, gathered at the tip.

"Well then, would you be so kind as to surrender now~ Mr. Wanted Criminal~"

Seeing his opponent reassemble, the pirate's expression darkened. 'Damn. A Logia type...'

He gripped his blade tightly as a visible cyclone of sharp energy spiraled around the sword. Taking a deep breath, he swung forward with all his strength.

"Scythe Art: Dance of the Storm!!"

A whirlwind, nearly a hundred meters wide, tore through the port like a dragon, surging toward Borsalino.

Everything caught within it was shredded by the fierce wind blades. At the same time, Nigel's figure vanished, retreating at full speed toward the pirate ship.

"Drop the cargo! Everyone, fall back!"

The spinning cyclone continued to rage forward, growing larger with each passing second.

Borsalino glanced up at it and muttered, "How dangerous~ what if someone gets hurt~?"

With a flick of his finger, a golden laser burst from his hand, piercing the heart of the tornado.

BOOM!

A searing explosion erupted from the center of the vortex, and the massive whirlwind was torn apart by the intense heat.

Countless wind blades, carried by the blast, slashed outward in every direction as buildings and homes were sliced apart like paper.

Borsalino looked at the shattered remains around him and sighed. "What a mess~ that might've been a bit too much~ Mr. Wanted Criminal~"

Then, he raised his right foot. Ahead of him, the pirates were just about to reach the ship when golden light flowed around his leg, concentrating at the point of his heel.

"Speed is power~"

A shrill sound cut through the air as a laser burst forward.

BOOM!!

A blinding explosion erupted just in front of the pirates trying to board. The fireball towered into the sky, several times larger than their vessel.

The entire ship vanished instantly. Only the scorching heat remained, burning their skin. Many collapsed in fear, frozen in place, forgetting to flee.

Tap, tap, tap...

The crisp sound of polished shoes echoed from behind as Borsalino strolled forward slowly.

"Now then, would you kindly put on your cuffs~ Mr. Wanted Criminal~"

Nigel snapped back to his senses, his face twisted with fury. His longsword pulsed with power and a three-meter-long blade of compressed wind energy formed.

Dozens of afterimages flickered as a storm of sharpened air blades shot toward Borsalino.

The man opened his mouth in exaggerated surprise.

"How scary~"

In an instant, a glowing blade of pure light, just as long, took shape in his hand.

"Ama no Murakumo Sword."

A dazzling burst of golden light flashed and with flawless precision, he parried every incoming strike. Then, he brought the glowing blade down on the charging Nigel.

Clang!

As the wind blade clashed with the glowing sword, Borsalino stared at the pirate captain, who was being gradually forced down.

"Your long journey ends here~ Mr. Wanted Criminal~"

The entire harbor lit up with blades of wind and golden beams…

The New World, a Unknown Island, Port.

A young man with slicked-back hair and golden earrings sat on a crate beneath a ship. A black coat draped over his shoulders.

In his hands was the latest newspaper.

Rustle—

The sound of paper flipping echoed.

"Hm?"

Something on the page caught the man's eye.

It reported a recent clash, an intense battle over territory granted to the rising generation by the three great powers of the New World.

"Interesting. Very interesting. Kuahahahaha. How could something like this happen without me?"

With a sudden motion, he sprang to his feet.

"You lot!"

The crewmates loading supplies looked over at their boss.

"Ohhh!!"

Brimming with confidence, Crocodile grinned.

"Set sail!!!"

North Blue, Shogai Island, at the Bryan family home.

Dragon sat silently, facing an elderly woman with a full head of white hair.

In the end, he couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth about Bryan's death. Instead, he handed her a stack of Berries, saying it was the money her grandson had earned. He claimed the man was just too busy to return.

Later, after secretly burying Bryan's belongings beneath the ginkgo tree in the yard, Dragon spent time with the old woman, talking about life on the island.

The more he heard, the stronger his desire to change the world became.

He sighed, glanced at the sky, then walked to the kitchen to say his farewell to the woman as she cooked.

Stepping out of the courtyard, he looked at the setting sun. A gentle breeze swept past, and he was gone.

What Dragon didn't know was that the old woman had already stopped cooking. At some point, tears began to fall from her eyes, hitting the floor silently.

They kept falling for a long time. Until there were no more left to shed.

She dragged her old rocking chair out beneath the tree. The same tree where Dragon had buried Bryan's keepsakes.

Laying down, she slowly rocked back and forth. The air carried the faint scent of the herbal sachet she had once made for her grandson.

She kept whispering to herself. "It's enough that you came back. I'm just glad... you're back..."

Grand Line, First Half, Rigar Island.

The sun had begun to set.

Pirates lay across the port, either unconscious or dead.

At the feet of a figure, his clothes slightly dusty, lay none other than Nigel. His body was soaked in blood, eyes rolled back and mouth hanging open. The slow rise and fall of his chest showed he still clung to life.

Borsalino took out a Den Den Mushi and dialed.

"Hello~ hello~ hello~ hello~"

After a long pause, he let out a tired sigh.

"So troublesome~ why won't anyone pick up~?"

Several days later.

Marine Headquarters, Marineford, Meeting Room.

After all the summoned officers had arrived, Fleet Admiral Kong placed a newspaper and a document on the table.

"Alright. Everyone's here. Let's get to the point. This meeting is about the trial implementation of the Seven Warlords of the Sea system…"
