One Piece: My Crew Members Are Legendary 3D Heroines

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: The Great Astrologer

After weathering the brutal storm, the Lexington's deck was left in complete disarray. Seaweed clung to every surface, and live fish, shrimp, and crabs flopped across the floorboards. The ship had also sustained considerable damage.

Most critically, the main sail had been torn to shreds.

Fortunately, the hull was sturdy enough to withstand the elements. There were no structural breaches, no leaks just a loss of propulsion due to the ruined sail, leaving them adrift.

After a night's rest, Ethan Chen awoke the next morning and, following a simple breakfast, turned his attention to repairing the damage. With the help of the auxiliary unit, he climbed the mast and spent the better part of the day patching the sail. By dusk, the Lexington was once again capable of movement.

They rested another night, but now faced a new issue: they had drifted far off their original course.

Using a sextant, compass, and nautical charts skills he'd learned from local fishermen Ethan finally pinpointed their current location. The ship had followed an ocean current all the way to the Four-Leaf Isles, nowhere near the original destination of the Conomi Archipelago.

But there was no use complaining. They needed to find the nearest port to rest, finish the sail repairs properly, and complete the mission.

Ethan wasn't a trained shipwright. His temporary repairs were passable at best functional, but unreliable.

The closest town was Shells Town, home to Naval Branch 153.

It was also the domain of Axe-Hand Morgan, the infamous naval officer known for once wounding the legendary Marine hero Garp with a single strike. A tyrant who abused his position to oppress the townspeople.

Ethan hesitated. He glanced again at the awkwardly patched sail. With a sigh, he turned the rudder toward Shells Town.

After half a day's journey, they reached the port. Guided by dockworkers, they anchored the ship, secured the mooring lines, and stepped ashore.

As soon as Ethan's feet touched the ground, the system notification chimed:

Mission Phase Two: Complete

You've braved the storm and left the newbie zone behind. A new map awaits.

Mission Objective: Acquire your own ship and set sail

Status: Complete

Reward: +1 Summon Token (delivered upon arrival in new town)

New Mission:

Now that you've witnessed the ocean's fickle temperament and the ever-shifting currents, you should understand the vital importance of a navigator in this world.

Required Companion: Navigator (female preferred, no unusual fetishes)

Status: In progress

Reward: 1 Mastery Point (freely assignable on personal panel; once assigned, cannot be changed choose wisely)

The last time he was tasked with recruiting a companion, the system had summoned 2B in response to a "swordsman" requirement.

This time, the keyword was "navigator."

So the next summon would presumably match that role too?

But who would it be?

Ethan ran through familiar characters in his mind, but couldn't immediately think of anyone iconic who fit the navigator archetype.

Looks like he'd just have to summon and find out.

There was no rush, though. He turned to the approaching dock manager, who held a clipboard.

"Do you have any shipwrights here? Someone who can properly fix a sail?"

The man looked up at the sail and frowned. "That's some serious damage. Repairs, plus docking and supervision fees, will come to a total of 100,000 Berries."

Ethan wasn't familiar with the local pricing, but even by rough purchasing power, that felt excessive just to fix a sail and tie up at the dock.

"That's too steep. How about 50,000?"

The manager broke into a cheerful grin, as if afraid Ethan might change his mind.

"Deal! Pleasure doing business."

Still too expensive, but Ethan didn't argue further. They signed the contract, finalized the docking paperwork, and handed over a deposit.

Then, carrying a briefcase with over 30 million Berries, Ethan and 2B left the ship behind.

He left the auxiliary unit onboard. It could maintain contact with 2B via wireless transmission, and if anything happened, they could respond immediately.

Shells Town was a garrison town, with a prominent Marine base. From the main road, the dark-blue military building stood tall in the distance, painted in classic Marine colors and style.

Normally, towns with a Navy presence were safe from pirate attacks, making them prosperous trade hubs bustling with merchants from surrounding islands.

But Shells Town was eerily quiet.

Only a few scattered pedestrians walked the streets. There were few shops, and even the roads were unpaved yellow clay.

It was worse than Eel Village had been.

Clearly, Morgan's rule had drained the life from the town. With power and brute force, he had stifled its spirit.

Ethan had no intention of meddling. Morgan's retribution was only a matter of time.

For now, there were more pressing concerns like food.

After days of dry rations, they deserved something hot and satisfying.

They found a nearby tavern and ordered two large plates of grilled steak, two servings of meaty pasta, fresh vegetable salad for vitamins, and 2B's favorite: malt juice.

The food was mediocre, but compared to dry rations, it was a feast. Ethan devoured his plate and ordered two more.

He ate until he was fully satisfied, confident he could digest it all later.

2B did the same, downing two extra cups of malt juice. This tavern's version was better than the one from the fishing village.

After the meal, they strolled the town for a while, but there wasn't much to see. In the end, they bought some fresh fruit and returned to the ship.

The sail had already been taken down for repair, but the cabin showed no signs of disturbance.

At least the workers were honest they hadn't taken advantage of the ship being unguarded.

Back in his room, Ethan could barely contain his excitement.

He called out in his mind, "System, use summon token."

"Summoning in progress... Congratulations, Host. You have received the character: The Great Astrologer – Astrologist Mona Megistus."

As usual, Mona had splurged her latest manuscript payment with reckless abandon.

Ancient books on astrology, newly released celestial equipment each purchase more extravagant than the last.

The result: another month living in poverty, surviving on mushrooms and wild greens.

But to Mona, it was worth it.

After all, knowledge was priceless. Mere currency could never compare.

Bags in hand, she returned home, signed off on the delivery, and immediately changed into her research robes. She tore open the packages and buried herself in the sea of knowledge.

"Huh? What's this?"

Tucked between the pages of one ancient tome was a mysterious page of handwritten notes.

"It looks like... a teleportation circle? These glyphs are really old... 'Fortune... Edge...'?"

Drawn in by curiosity, Mona instinctively raised her finger and traced the sigils through the air using elemental energy.

The moment the final stroke was completed, a blue light flared.

Only then did Mona realize something was wrong.

"Oh no..."

A blinding flash of light filled the room.

When it faded, the girl was gone without a trace.
