Chapter 24: Chapter 24
"Doctor Leon, he…" Just as the researcher was about to respond, a childish voice came from behind.
"What's wrong? Were you looking for me?"
The researcher instinctively turned around. He was taken aback for a moment, then quickly composed himself, greeting the eight-year-old child with utmost respect.
"Doctor Leon! Fleet Admiral Sengoku!"
Following Leon was Sengoku.
"So, you are Leon?" Lilith looked at Leon with curiosity.
Her eyes were fixed on Leon, completely ignoring Sengoku.
Leon nodded "So, you are Doctor Vegapunk! It's an honor to meet you."
Lilith was momentarily taken aback, then thought for a moment, since they were both part of the Marine scientific division, it was only natural that Leon would know her.
"Yes."
"I didn't expect Doctor Leon to be so young! You're not a clone like me, are you?" Lilith stepped forward with a playful grin and pinched Leon cheek.
"Hmm… you're really just eight years old!"
Under Leon rolling eyes, Lilith released her grip.
Sengoku could only smile wryly at this.
There was nothing to be done, Vegapunk's six clones each had their own personalities and this particular clone "lilith" was just like that.
"Doctor Leon, may I ask you a few questions about the Seraphim?" Ignoring Leon eye rolls, Lilith spoke candidly.
"I want to know how you managed to replicate the swordsmanship of Mihawk and design it into a program module implanted in the Seraphim?"
"If it were merely set as fixed movements, it wouldn't be flexible enough for combat, it would only be for show, making such a humanoid weapon meaningless. But I clearly saw in the video that they can fight flexibly…"
"And how do the Seraphim convert their internal energy into dual-color Haki? This has me completely stumped!"
"Oh and what about their rapid recovery abilities…"
Lilith fired off a series of questions, looking eager to learn.
Leon was momentarily stunned.
Wow, you're really trying to strip me of all my secrets right off the bat!
"Ahem, Vegapunk, these might involve some of his personal secrets…" Sengoku interjected at that moment, coming to Leon rescue.
Although Sengoku hoped Vegapunk could elevate his scientific level, which would also benefit the Marine, he didn't want Leon to feel displeased and hold back on his inventions.
To put it plainly, if he had to choose between Vegapunk and Leon as a scientist, Leon would be the obvious choice!
Young and vibrant, his displayed talent was far beyond Vegapunk's.
Moreover, he was Kizaru younger brother, which naturally made their relationship closer.
The level of trust was far greater than that of Vegapunk, who had only joined the Marine scientific division after being captured.
"Alright then…" Lilith looked a bit regretful, then flashed a sly smile.
"I'll come back to ask you when Fleet Admiral Sengoku isn't around!"
"How did you come up with all this? To be honest, many of your ideas align with mine. If I had another two or three years, I could definitely invent something similar."
Hearing this, Leon couldn't help but chuckle.
Isn't this your invention? I just made it come to light earlier.
Of course, Leon had a technological system.
The Seraphim he invented was even stronger than what Vegapunk would create two years later in the original story.
Before Leon could respond, Lilith continued on her own.
"I really don't know how your little head works, to be so clever. The Seraphim you invented has many technologies that even I can't crack yet, it truly puts me to shame!"
Lilith looked at Leon, her eyes filled with admiration.
"That's nothing." Leon replied with a smile.
"If conditions are met, Admiral-level Seraphim can be manufactured."
"Admiral-level?!" Lilith was taken aback, then couldn't help but exclaim.
"There are even Admiral-level ones?"
Leon nodded, his expression one of certainty.
"Of course, I mentioned earlier that this batch is only at the level of the Seven Warlords, but there are Seraphim that can rival an Admiral!"
"However, it will take some time to invent them…"
Lilith was momentarily stunned.
Originally, she thought she should still have the upper hand over Leon.
Although the Pacifista she invented couldn't compare to Leon Seraphim, that was entirely because she had spread her efforts across various fields of technology.
For example, researching Devil Fruits, replicating them and enabling objects to possess the abilities of consumed Devil Fruits.
Or developing technology that allows the Marine to navigate through the Calm Belt and so on.
Given some time, she was confident she could develop humanoid weapons similar to the Seraphim within two years.
The only area where Leon outshone her was in age.
Even Lilith had to admit that Leon talent far surpassed her own!
Given time, she knew she would eventually be surpassed.
But that thought wavered just now when he heard that Leon could develop Admiral-level Seraphim…
Lilith herself wasn't sure!
But while she had doubts, this eight-year-old child in front of him was brimming with confidence! How could that not shock Lilith?
"Leon…"
Hearing Leon speak on this topic, Sengoku couldn't help but ask.
"What's the progress on the Admiral-level Seraphim?"
"The current progress…" Leon frowned slightly, sighed, and shook his head.
"I've hit a bit of a bottleneck!"
He continued slowly. "Even though I've incorporated the lineage factors of the entire Marine upper echelon, I still can't produce them…"
"So, I came out of the lab this time to collect more blood from powerful Marine members."
Upon hearing this, Sengoku nodded silently.
Just as he was about to say something, suddenly, a sharp and piercing alarm blared loudly!
"Huh?"
Sengoku and the others were all startled.
"Enemies are attacking!"
Sengoku expression darkened, He immediately rushed outside.
Leon and Lilith quickly followed.
When they stepped outside, they saw the sky filled with dark clouds, flashing lightning!
Amidst the fiery clouds, a massive azure dragon loomed, blocking out the sun.
A pair of eyes as large as lanterns were glaring menacingly down at the Marine headquarters.
It was Kaido of the Beast!
