One Piece : Marine Scientist

Chapter 22: Chapter 22

On the turbulent surging sea, a massive pirate ship resembling a giant whale was anchored by the shore.

It was the Moby Dick, the flagship of the Yonko, Whitebeard!

The towering man sat in his exclusive chair, his crescent-shaped white beard marking his identity.

The strongest man in the world, the Yonko Edward Newgate!

"Seraphim? What the hell is that?"

Whitebeard tilted his head back, taking two large gulps of liquor. He asked casually.

"Pops, it's the Marine latest Humanoid Weapon. Their appearance resembles the Lunarian Tribe, and their features are modeled after the child forms of the Warlords and Marine officers..."

"So, we suspect the Seraphim were developed by combining the Lunarian Tribe lineage factor with the genes of the Marine and Warlords."

Listening to Marco explanation, Whitebeard nodded silently and took two more heavy swigs of liquor.

He wasn't particularly concerned about Lunarian lineage factors or Seraphim. As long as they didn't harm his beloved sons, it didn't matter.

"Pops, from what we know, they're far stronger than the previous Pacifistas!"

"Oh?"

Whitebeard expression remained indifferent.

Marco sighed helplessly and continued explaining on his own.

"These Seraphim—not only do they wield Laser Beams like the Pacifistas, but their swordsmanship is also incredibly advanced!"

"And they've even mastered the Marine Rokushiki techniques..."

Marco hurriedly added.

As the commander of the First Division and one of the earliest crew members, he naturally leaned toward preparing for the worst.

He wanted to make sure Pops took this seriously.

Yet, Whitebeard remained unfazed. Everything Marco had just mentioned, at most, it posed some threat to his crew—hardly enough to concern Whitebeard.

"Pops, that's not all—these so-called Seraphim have also mastered both types of Haki!"

The moment those words fell, Whitebeard paused mid-drink, a flicker of surprise flashing in his eyes.

"Aren't artificial weapons just machines? They can wield Haki too?"Whitebeard asked curiously.

Marco nodded, his face grave.

"Yes, this has been confirmed. That's exactly why we need to be cautious. A Humanoid Weapon with both types of Haki is on a completely different level from those without!"

"Not only that—one of the Beast Pirates' Disasters, Jack the Drought, was defeated by a Seraphim and taken back to Marine Headquarters..."

At this, Whitebeard expression finally shifted to astonishment.

Jack the Drought—a fighter of that caliber could easily qualify as a Division Commander even on his own ship.

His strength was nothing to scoff at.

So if the Seraphim posed a threat to Jack, they could certainly do the same to his sons!

"If Jack was captured, Kaido will definitely move to rescue him. But the Marine must have anticipated that..."

"Seems they've prepared for it—no longer as wary of Kaido as before..."

"The seas are about to get restless again."

Whitebeard sighed softly. Then he continued.

"Who knows what's going on in Vegapunk's head? It hasn't been long since the Pacifistas were developed and now these Seraphim are already out..."

"Actually, Pops—from what we've heard, the scientist behind the Seraphim is none other than Admiral Kizaru younger brother!"

"He is only eight years old!"

At these words, Whitebeard expression instantly turned to shock!

"Just eight?!"

His eyes were filled with disbelief.

At eight years old, shouldn't one still be playing house?

Yet he had already begun research and succeeded? And it was a Humanoid Weapon even more terrifying than the Pacifista!

What kind of monster was he?!

"Absolutely true, Pops." Marco sighed.

The more such a prodigy displayed their extraordinary talents within the Marines, the greater the threat they posed. Naturally, Marco wasn't pleased.

"Truly... unexpected!" Whitebeard marveled endlessly.

To invent the Seraphim at just eight years old—who could imagine what heights he might reach once fully grown?

By then, even Vegapunk might pale in comparison, no?

"So Pops, we must never underestimate this kid. No matter how young he is, his youth only makes him more terrifying!"

"To achieve such results at such a tender age—I dare not imagine what horrors he might create in the future!" Marco spoke slowly, his mood heavy.

The Marines had always been formidable in strength. Now, with the addition of the powerful Seraphim, even for an Emperor crew like them, it was an immense pressure!

"It doesnt matter, Marco. We'll meet force with force." Whitebeard chuckled and shook his head.

His tone still carried the confidence of a true powerhouse.

"Yes, Pops..." Marco conceded helplessly.

"Hmph, what's so great about technology? Devil Fruit powers are the real deal..."

Nearby, a short and stocky man listened to Whitebeard and Marco's conversation, curling his lips disdainfully.

Judging by his appearance, this was the future Emperor—Blackbeard Teach!

At this time, Teach had not yet betrayed the Whitebeard Pirates. He merely listened idly, utterly dismissive of technological might.

"Eh? Thatch and the others are back!"

He grinned, waving at his crewmates in the distance.

Soon, a group approached, each carrying various supplies—mostly food.

Leading them was Thatch.

"Pops, we're back, and we brought plenty of food." Thatch reported cheerfully.

As the crew's cook, his team was responsible for provisions.

"Good, Thatch. Did you bring any booze?" Whitebeard asked with a grin.

"Pops! Your body can't handle more alcohol!" Marco interjected urgently.

"Hahaha, Pops, you'd better listen to Marco—he is our doctor, after all." Thatch waved it off.

"How dull!" Whitebeard shook his head, tossing aside the empty barrel in his hand.

Thatch and his crew unloaded the supplies, then continued.

"Oh, Pops, I've caught wind of a Devil Fruit location. I'd like to go search for it now—shouldn't take long."

On the Whitebeard Pirates' ship, the rule was simple: whoever discovered a Devil Fruit's whereabouts would be the one to retrieve it and the spoils belonged solely to them.

No one else could interfere.

"Very well. Be careful out there, my son." Whitebeard waved casually.

"Will do, Pops!"

With that, Thatch bid farewell and disembarked alone.

At this moment, he was going to search for the Devil Fruit that had given him the clue.

It was said to be a Devil Fruit possessing the most dangerous power in the world!
