Chapter 291: 290 Donquixote Family Attacked
After Saint Monroe left, Doflamingo ripped off his sunglasses and smashed them to the ground.
The lenses shattered.
His body trembled, and his bloodshot eyes burned with fury.
How could he endure this?
When had he ever been humiliated like this? Not even Kaido would dare!
These bastards!
But he held back.
Was this the time to retaliate? No. He needed patience. Strength had to be built, step by step, until the moment was right.
If he truly aimed to rule the world, he would shake the heavens themselves.
Just wait.
The show wasn't over, and the outcome was still undecided.
He, Doflamingo, would have the last laugh.
One day, he would slaughter those arrogant Celestial Dragons.
Boom!
Doflamingo had just adjusted his mood when a big explosion sounded not far away.
"Are those bastards causing trouble again?"
Doflamingo's suppressed anger flared up. He grabbed a magazine, trying to distract himself.
"Ahem… Young Master, something's wrong."
The door burst open. Torrebol stumbled in, his face covered in blood.
"We were attacked! The enemy was too strong—our cadres didn't even see who hit them before they went down!"
He coughed violently, spitting out two mouthfuls of dark green blood. Then, he collapsed.
In his last moment of consciousness, he realized—the dragon that bit him was venomous!
"Torrebol? Torrebol! Damn it!"
Doflamingo didn't hesitate. He barked orders for his men to help Torrebol and sprinted toward the explosion site.
It had been no more than fifteen minutes, yet by the time he arrived, the battlefield was already littered with bodies.
The Donquixote Family's top officers—Giolla, Buffalo, Machvise, Senor Pink, Lao G, and Dellinger—lay motionless. Their fates were uncertain.
Some were dismembered beyond recognition. Others were so dead, they couldn't be any deader.
Hundreds of ordinary members lay scattered across the ground, lifeless.
The cadres who arrived later—Baby-5, Gladius, Diamanti, and Pica—managed to survive. They stood behind Doflamingo in silent understanding, their faces tense as they recognized the enemy.
In just fifteen minutes, the family Doflamingo had spent over thirty years building was nearly wiped out.
"Lao Qi!"
Desperation filled the air. The sight of his fallen subordinates made Doflamingo's heart bleed. His glare locked onto Lynch, his fury barely contained as he gritted out a few words through clenched teeth.
Kuina and Tashigi flicked the blood off their swords before sheathing them. Like two Admirals, they stood beside Lynch—one on the left, one on the right.
King Riku, his body splattered with blood, stood alongside a soldier with a broken leg and Rebecca, all three glaring at Doflamingo with seething hatred.
Lynch casually dropped the corpse of an unknown cadre, the man's head crushed beyond recognition. With an easy smile, he greeted Doflamingo as if nothing had happened.
"Dover, this must be our first meeting. Shame—I didn't bring a gift."
Doflamingo's expression darkened. "Lynch, you're the Emperor of the West Blue, not a pirate. I've done nothing to wrong you. If you attack a New World country without reason, aren't you afraid the world's great powers will unite against you?"
His voice steadied. "I've already apologized for what happened with Monet. If the mighty Emperor of the West Blue still holds a grudge over such a trivial matter… wouldn't that seem petty?"
Weakness is the original sin.
Even now, Doflamingo was trying to make peace with Lynch, avoiding an outright conflict. He understood his own strength clearly—if he didn't want his life's work to crumble, he had no choice but to endure.
It was humiliating.
Meanwhile, King Riku, Rebecca, and the others felt nothing but satisfaction.
Standing behind a powerful figure truly made a difference.
The devil who had once dragged them into despair was now forced to compromise before the King of the West Blue.
Lynch smirked. "Dover, no wonder people say you're a great actor. Have you already forgotten about throwing biological weapons into the West Blue?"
Doflamingo's expression shifted instantly.
"Who leaked it?!"
A series of names flashed through his mind before his suspicion landed on one—Monet.
Could it be her?!
No… if she were a spy, then Caesar—
Doflamingo's concerns are justified.
At the same time, with Monet's help, Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse successfully infiltrated Caesar Clown's research lab.
"Haaaaaaaaaaa~ Looks like today is going to be a disaster."
Doflamingo's eyes sharpened as he took a deep breath.
"You're working with the Riku clan? I won't let you get what you want!"
He knew a fight was inevitable. But no matter how bad the situation was, fleeing wasn't an option.
Abandoning everything he had built over the years? Unthinkable.
Tomorrow, the Beasts Pirates would arrive to collect their shipment of artificial Devil Fruits. If he could hold out until then, there was still hope.
Just one more day.
Suddenly, Lynch's voice cut through the tension.
"Baby-5, would you be my maid? I need you."
"What?!"
Pica and the others were caught off guard.
How does he know Baby-5's weakness?!
Before they could react, Baby-5's face turned red with excitement.
"You need me? Yay! I'm finally useful!"
She rushed to Lynch without hesitation.
Bang.
Lynch casually knocked her out with a swift chop to the neck.
Baby-5 was pitiful. The scars of her childhood had left her with an extreme need to be wanted. Whether it was lending money or marrying someone, as long as she felt needed, she could never refuse.
Baby-5 grew up in poverty. From the moment she was born, her family saw her as a waste of food, useless and unwanted. In the end, her own mother abandoned her. She was later taken in by the Donquixote Family.
And now, before the battle had even begun, they had already lost a fighter.
Pica and the others were fuming. Their frustration boiled over as they silently cursed Lynch's shamelessness.
"Five-Color Strings!"
Doflamingo struck without warning. Five nearly invisible threads shot from his fingertips, slicing through the air.
Lynch barely glanced over before sidestepping with ease.
The razor-sharp threads missed him and instead slashed through a nearby building—causing it to collapse instantly.
"A sneak attack?! That's low!"
Tashigi, the ever-righteous swordswoman, gasped in outrage, glaring at Doflamingo.
"Haaaaaaaaaaa~ Low? Justice? Only the winner has the right to talk about such things!"
Doflamingo's voice was laced with scorn.
"You villain! After everything you've done, today is the day you die!"
Rebecca's hands trembled with fury as she pointed her sword at him, her eyes burning with rage.
"Bad guy? You call me a bad guy, but to the people of Dressrosa, I'm a hero."
"Only those at the top get to decide what is good and evil."
"Justice must prevail? Of course. Because the winner is the one who defines justice, and the loser is condemned as evil."
His sneak attack had failed, but Doflamingo wasn't done yet. He needed to buy time.
Tashigi and Rebecca were momentarily speechless, struggling to find a retort.
"You—!"
"Ugh! That makes me so mad!"
But when it came to words, even ten of them together couldn't match Doflamingo's cunning.
