Chapter 280: 280 Elder Nyon Fragile Heart
"What about these weapons? You can take one."
Boa Hancock picked up the Sky Thorn Spear and Sky Moon Shield.
Ever since the Sky Thorn Spear absorbed a trace of her blood, she felt a strange connection with it.
If Nyonba were here to see Hancock casually offering up Amazon Lily's heirlooms, she would definitely be furious.
"No need," Lynch shook his head. "I suspect these weapons have eaten a Devil Fruit and contain the will of your ancestors. Only those they recognize can wield them."
Just like Demon Cutter Sword, these weapons couldn't be used by just anyone.
Forcing them would only lead to harm, and with the stubborn nature of Amazon Lily's ancestor, she would rather die than allow someone unworthy to use them.
"You've done so much for Amazon Lily, I don't even know how to repay you," Boa Hancock said, covering her chest as she stepped forward.
"How about... I give you my body?"
"I'll go with you, and let Marigold stay here as queen."
"Yeah, no thanks. Nyonba would kill me," Lynch chuckled.
"I'm not leaving just yet, Hancock."
If he just showed up, took Boa Hancock, and left, Elder Nyon would probably chase him all the way to West Blue with her cane.
Maybe in the future, he could find a way to move all of Amazon Lily to West Blue instead.
The warriors of Amazon Lily are strong, it's a nation where everyone is trained for combat and can even control beasts.
"Besides," Lynch said, holding up a Logia Hurricane Fruit, "this trip has already been rewarding enough. Logia fruits are rare."
"Okay then..." Boa Hancock lowered her head, clearly disappointed. "But everything of mine belongs to Mr. Lynch anyway."
"Let's head out. The people outside must be worried by now."
After four days without any sign of them, the people outside the temple had been growing restless.
If not for the two mecha guards coming out to confirm their safety and Nyonba holding them back—they might have already stormed in to rescue them.
As Lynch and Boa Hancock finally emerged, everyone let out a sigh of relief.
"Sister! We knew you'd be okay!" Marigold rushed forward excitedly.
"What took you so long? What did you find down there?" Nyonba's sharp gaze landed on two artifacts in Hancock's hands.
Her voice trembled. "Are those… the Sky Thorn Spear and Sky Moon Shield?"
"Hmph. At least you have good eyes."
As long as she wasn't facing Lynch, Boa Hancock's usual arrogance remained intact.
She snorted and raised her perfectly sculpted chin, as if saying: I'm amazing. Why aren't you all worshiping your queen yet?
"Gah..."
Nyonba let out a duck-like squawk, twitched, and collapsed.
"Not good! Nyonba fainted from excitement!"
The guards panicked, rushing to her side in a flurry.
"Where's the doctor?! Hurry!"
After some frantic efforts, Nyonba slowly opened her eyes.
"I... I thought I saw the former empress waving to me..." she muttered in confusion.
Her eyes darted around. "Wait, where are the Sky Thorn Spear and Sky Moon Shield? Was I dreaming?!"
She reached out and touched the two legendary weapons, her fingers trembling. Then, as realization hit, she burst into laughter.
"So the legend was true! The sacred weapons of Amazon Lily truly exist!"
She took a deep breath, her initial excitement settling into something deeper.
"I'm sorry, Ancestor," she whispered to herself, "but I can't leave just yet... I want to witness Amazon Lily's rise once more!"
Sensing the odd stares from those around her, she quickly coughed twice, regaining her usual dignified demeanor.
"Now then... What exactly happened down there?"
"And how did you find the legendary artifacts?"
"You'd better brace yourself," Lynch warned, gently covering Boa Hancock's red lips before she could speak.
"Try not to faint again."
Nyonba was too old to handle another rescue.
What if she fainted again…?
"Don't worry, I'm mentally prepared this time," she assured, patting her walking stick.
Lynch glanced at her skeptically but relented. "Alright, Hancock, go ahead." He finally let go of her soft red lips.
Boa Hancock took a deep breath.
"The ninety-one ancestors who founded our nation… are not completely dead. They buried themselves beneath the temple and continue to channel power into Amazon Lily."
Her words sent shockwaves through the crowd.
The legendary ancestors… still existed!?
Characters from a thousand years ago were somehow alive!?
"Gah—!"
Nyonba let out a strangled cry, her eyes rolling back as she clutched her chest with frail arms, looking like she was about to collapse again.
"Grandma, stay with us!"
"Deep breaths, yes, deep breaths! Don't faint!"
The medical team carefully provided psychological counseling, helping Nyonba gradually regain her composure.
"Ahem, I already told you I was mentally prepared. What are you all so afraid of?"
Elder Nyon crossed her arms. "Actually, I was just pretending to test you all."
"Yes, yes, of course, you're always right," the people around her quickly agreed, agreeing the elderly woman.
After all, an elder is like a family treasure, and at her age, she could practically be treated like a child.
Boa Hancock continued, her tone serious.
"Although they're not completely dead, what remains is no longer them. Instead, their power gave birth to a monster."
"Gah—"
Nyonba's eyes rolled back as she vaguely saw her ancestors waving at her from the other side.
"The good news is," Hancock added, "the monster inherited their will and is incredibly strong."
That seemed to bring Nyonba back for a moment.
"It's just a pity that she wasn't obedient and tried to harm Lynch, so we had to seal her—after dismembering her," Hancock said casually, dancing dangerously on the fragile edges of the old woman's heart.
"Gah—"
This time, Nyonba saw even more of her ancestors filling the sky, waving at her.
"But don't worry," Hancock reassured her. "The monster is made of special ghost energy. It can recover even after being dismembered."
Elder Nyon finally returned to normal and immediately grabbed Boa Hancock's wrist.
"Stop! Hancock, please stop talking!" she pleaded. "If you keep going, my poor heart won't survive the shock!"
"Hahahaha!"
The crowd burst into laughter, filling the temple with lighthearted relief.
With that, the absurd yet historic incident of "beating up our ancestor" finally came to an end.
One Month Later
Boa Hancock spent the next month trying to talk with the shadows underground.
However, these two artifacts have already initially recognized Boa Hancock.
Boa Hancock discovered the functionality of both weapons.
The Sky Thorn Spear can change its shape and size at will as long as it is injected with ghost energy, ranging from a minimum of one meter to a maximum of ten meters.
And when attacking, it can increase the power related to ghost energy.
The spikes on it can be as flexible as an extension of the arm.
Other than that, the hardness and sharpness comparable to the supreme grade blase are just incidental.
