Chapter 23: The Ideal Land?
Chapter 23: The Ideal Land?
Hiberfield Family Headquarters
In the Plaza
A group of men in black suits gathered in the central plaza, where Ivan was waving a copy of the Economic World newspaper.
"Brothers, look at this."
Everyone turned their attention to the newspaper in Ivan's hands.
On the front page of the newspaper, a large bold headline read: "The Day of Destruction of the Food Island City."
The article reported on the battle that destroyed the city on Food Island half a month ago.
"Brother Ivan, what does this mean? What's so interesting about the destruction of Food City?" Beta asked, looking puzzled.
Ivan pointed to a smaller section of the front page. "Look here."
Everyone opened their eyes wide and looked at the place Ivan pointed to.
"The Amazing Strike of the Mysterious Warrior!"
The image showed an impressive scene of a man sheathing his sword while his enemy's head flew off.
Although the face was blurred, Beta exclaimed, "It's Boss Charlotte!"
Ivan nodded with admiration. "Yes, it's Boss Charlotte."
"Look, even in such a dangerous situation, Boss Charlotte still acts kindly and rescues the weak."
Everyone remembered their own experiences. Many began to cry but bit their lips to stay silent.
"Yes, if it weren't for Boss Charlotte, I, a slave, would have died with a collar around my neck, like an animal," one person said.
"Yes, without Boss Charlotte, I would already be dead. I wouldn't be here now," added another.
"Without Boss Charlotte's help, I would have starved to death." (I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up creating a cult for Charlotte.)
Beta remained silent, thinking about how his life would have been without Boss Charlotte's intervention.
Dahl, the giant, also stayed silent. In this place, he had found warmth and hospitality after a long time.
Mitis, with red eyes, thought about her sister. Without Mr. Charlotte's help, she would probably be dead by now.
Barrett remembered his treacherous and wandering life before coming here, where he finally found happiness and tranquility.
Looking at everyone, Ivan, with tears in his eyes, regained his composure and continued.
"Once, I asked Boss Charlotte what his dream was."
This caught everyone's attention.
"Boss Charlotte said that his old homeland was a peaceful, free, safe, prosperous, and happy place. It was truly an ideal land!"
Everyone showed disbelief.
"Does such an ideal land really exist?"
Ivan replied calmly. "It must exist because Boss Charlotte will guide us to turn Ratti Island into our ideal land."
The group became excited, drawn by these words.
"Yes, isn't our life here exactly like that," many thought.
"Friends, look at Boss Charlotte in the newspaper. What is this?"
"What?"
They looked at each other, confused and thoughtful, but not fully understanding.
Ivan, with a red face and excited, exclaimed, "This is Boss Charlotte raising his voice to the world, bravely fighting against the cruelty of war."
As a veteran of the Hiberfield family, Ivan knew it was crucial to guide the other members correctly, conveying Boss Charlotte's true message.
"Those crazy pirates at sea always show their strength by causing massacres. But Boss Charlotte is different: modest, calm, kind, with great ideals. There are very few like him."
"Since Boss Charlotte has started showing his true power to the world, we must do the same."
"This great leader should not stay here."
"We must make the name of Charlotte of Hiberfield famous on the sea."
"We must make the Hiberfield family glorious and grand."
"We must carry out the great will of Hiberfield and build our ideal land."
Immediately, everyone became excited and started shouting.
"Carry out the will, build the ideal land!"
"Carry out the will, build the ideal land!"
They would follow Charlotte in his conquests at sea, spreading his will throughout the world.
Watching them, Ivan felt exhilarated. This was exactly what Charlotte wanted to express.
...
In the office, Charlotte felt puzzled. "What are those guys doing now?"
Zaga Rin, in her scientist's coat, couldn't help but smile at the comment. "Mr. Charlotte, your subordinates are very energetic."
Charlotte looked at Zaga Rin and shook his head. After half a month of living together, he knew that this scientist wasn't as serious as she seemed.
"Zaga Rin, will the research on the [QG] drug cause harm to the people and animals on the island?"
With a sweet smile, Zaga Rin replied, "Don't worry, Mr. Charlotte. If we take the proper safety measures, there will be no problem. The workers will be protected."
Charlotte still had doubts. Shouldn't scientists be more serious in their research?
Despite his mistrust, he knew this was crucial. "And also, the [QG] drug can be improved and develop other treatments. It has great benefits."
Zaga Rin, with a seductive voice, managed to convince Charlotte, who finally nodded.
"Alright, but we need to ensure protection."
Zaga Rin brightened up upon hearing the approval. "So, could we approve a few billion berries for the research?"
"What? Do you take me for a millionaire? I don't have that much money."
"You're so funny, Mr. Charlotte!" replied Zaga Rin, joking.
"Don't think about that much money. I need to rebuild the fortress and other projects. You'll only have three billion berries for now."
Zaga Rin quickly accepted, leaving Charlotte perplexed. Had he fallen into a trap?
Leaving with a smile, Zaga Rin felt satisfied. Although the temporary lab wasn't perfect, she was filled with determination and enthusiasm for this new life.
Her father was also happy with his work on architectural designs.
That grand plan was worth it!
