Chapter 4: CHAPTER 4
"Page One!"
Ulti's eyes widened in disbelief as she stumbled toward her brother, who now lay sprawled in a crater, unconscious. His eyes were rolled back, his jaw slack. Smoke and dust still swirled around his body.
Her hands trembled as she reached out. "B-Brother..."
For a moment, she stood frozen. It didn't make sense. Her brother, a user of an Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit and known for his durability and toughness, had been taken down in one hit.
"Hey... hey hey hey!" Jack's eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
"Brother King! Brother Queen!" he barked in disbelief. "Did you see that?! That guy—he's a monster like Governor Kaido!"
Queen's jaw dropped so hard it looked like it might dislocate.
"H-Haki... That's Advanced Conqueror's Haki...!"
Beside him, King had already lowered his crossed arms, his cold gaze fixed on Ragnar.
"Only top-tier Conqueror's Haki—Hyakushin no Haki—can bypass Zoan durability and knock out someone like Page One with a single strike," he said, voice low and tight with caution.
He had seen this before—from Kaido, the man who ruled the seas for decades. But for Ragnar, a youth still unproven in the eyes of the New World, to wield it? That was something else entirely.
As the shock rippled through the crowd—Flying Six, All-Stars, even the Numberers—Ragnar remained impassive. His expression never changed.
"Take him away," he said quietly, withdrawing his hand.
"Bastard!"
Ulti's fury exploded at those words. Her face twisted in rage.
"I don't care if you're Governor Kaido's son—I'll beat your face in for hurting my brother!"
A furious roar erupted from her throat as she transformed mid-leap. Light green scales expanded over her body, and her already large frame ballooned into a towering Pachycephalosaurus, her Ancient Zoan form. Muscles bulged beneath scaly skin. Her spiked, dome-shaped head gleamed with Armament Haki.
"Runtou Gun Rain—Armament!!"
With terrifying speed, Ulti closed the distance. She locked her clawed hands onto Ragnar's shoulders and drove her hardened skull forward, her Haki-infused headbutt exploding like a cannon blast at point-blank range.
The island quaked.
A black shockwave of Advanced Haki expanded out like a tidal wave, splitting the earth and rattling the air. A kilometer-wide section of Onigashima felt the impact.
Every Beast Pirate nearby heard it—and many felt the tremor beneath their feet.
But even as the dust cleared...
There was no cheer.
No joy.
Only stunned silence.
Black Maria exhaled slowly, her fan trembling slightly in her hand. "...Ulti…"
Smoke curled around her lips as she gazed at the battlefield with deep unease.
All the other Tobiroppo and Numbers stared silently. Some exchanged glances. None spoke.
On the field, Ulti's body trembled where she stood.
Her attack had landed dead-on.
But...
Ragnar had not moved. His face remained unchanged—stoic, unreadable. His body upright, unshaken.
And from Ulti's own forehead, blood slowly began to slide down her scaled face, trailing along her jaw and neck.
Her hands slipped off his shoulders.
She stumbled back.
"How could someone have a harder head than mine?!"
Ulti's voice rang out, a mix of horror, disbelief, and boiling rage. Blood trickled from her forehead, staining her bangs crimson.
Just moments ago, she'd launched her signature attack — the Ul-Headbutt, reinforced by Armament Haki and the full momentum of her Zoan-enhanced charge — directly at the face of the upstart youth before her.
Yet Ragnar didn't even budge.
Not a scratch. Not a stumble. Not even a blink.
Ulti, on the other hand, had her skull cracked again. She stumbled backward, dazed, pain blossoming from her forehead like fireworks.
"His body... is tougher than even Kaido-san's..."
The low mutter came from King the Wildfire, his arms crossed as he floated silently beside the battlefield. His voice, calm as ever, held a rare edge of awe.
The moment those words escaped his lips, everyone froze.
From Queen the Plague, eyes bulging behind his goggles, to Jack the Drought, snarling with clenched fists, and even the elite Tobiroppo — all turned their eyes to Ragnar.
"That's ridiculous!"
"You're kidding, right?!"
The whispers passed through the crowd like wildfire.
Even Ulti, despite her injury, glared up at Ragnar with disbelief etched across her features.
After all, in the New World, there was an unspoken rule: Kaido was the strongest creature alive, a man whose durability bordered on myth. People said he couldn't be killed — that he'd been captured dozens of times only to walk free, that even execution devices couldn't pierce his skin.
Aside from the Yonkō Big Mom, no one was said to match his physical resilience.
"Good eye."
Ragnar finally spoke, his voice calm, yet brimming with confidence. He cast a faint glance toward King — the only one among them whose eyes had seen through even part of his ability.
Diamond Body — one of the advanced forms granted by his Mythical Zoan, the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Erlang Shen.
A body infused with divine resistance, harder than seastone, and sharper than any blade.
"You're insane!"
"King, don't spout nonsense!"
"Kaido-san is an idiot sometimes, but when it comes to strength—he's unmatched!"
Ulti snapped back, her fury boiling over as she prepared to charge again, injured or not. Even battered, her pride refused to admit defeat — especially in comparison to some so-called 'newcomer.'
But Ragnar didn't even spare her a glance.
"I don't need recognition from the defeated."
"Especially not from someone beneath the Three All-Stars."
The words cut like a blade.
Tobiroppo or not, Ulti was still a subordinate. And Ragnar had already made it clear: he didn't view her as a threat.
That arrogance made Ulti tremble with fury.
"You bastard—!"
Just as she lunged forward once more, a thunderous laugh echoed through the skies of Onigashima — deep, grating, and unmistakably drunk.
"Wororororo!! That's right!!"
From atop the giant skull dome, Kaido finally spoke, his giant gourd swinging by his hip as he guffawed with pride.
"I ain't gonna lie — the brat's body is tougher than mine now!"
"Even I can't dent him without going full hybrid!"
"Only that hag Linlin has bones like that! Wahaha!"
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
For Kaido himself — the man who declared suicide boring and fought the world for fun — to admit inferiority, even slightly, was unthinkable.
"So he's really… Kaido's son…"
A hush fell over the battlefield, as Ragnar's name began to spread like wildfire.
T/N: I ain't explaining who Erlang Shen is, google it out yourself 😹
