One Piece: Heroic Spirits Straw Hat Pirates!

Chapter 38: Chapter 38

"What was that just now? What happened to the boss?!"

"He got hit by that beam of light, right? Can he even survive something like that?"

"Idiot! The boss is invincible! Even something like that can't take him down! Isn't that right, Brother Psycho-P?"

The subordinates of Mad Treasure had all stopped fighting. Some were anxious, others turned to Psycho-P for reassurance.

But when they looked over, they were shocked to see that Psycho-P had already collapsed on the deck.

It turned out, distracted by the light from Fairy Glitter, Luffy had stopped attacking Zoro.

Naturally, that gave Zoro a chance to knock out the dazed Psycho-P.

Seeing their elite officer down, the remaining conscious Treasure Hunters fell into panic.

"Amazing! Nami, you're incredible! That move just now—can you use it again? Huh? Genrou, what happened to Nami?"

Luffy rushed over, waving away the smoke, and approached Genrou and Nami.

But what he saw was Genrou supporting an unconscious Nami.

"Nami's stamina ran out. That move just now completely drained her."

"Don't worry, she only passed out."

Genrou replied while gazing at the spot where Fairy Glitter had struck.

Hit by one of the three great Fairy magics, and the highly destructive Fairy Glitter at that, Mad Treasure was now utterly dead—beyond saving.

His body was a tattered wreck.

Even if Nami's Fairy Glitter wasn't fully mastered, it had still far surpassed what Mad Treasure could handle.

What a waste. I forgot—if a Devil Fruit user dies, you can't extract the fruit anymore.

If I'd known, I would've dealt the finishing blow myself and retrieved the fruit beforehand.

Genrou sighed to himself and turned toward the other Devil Fruit user among the Treasure Hunters—Psycho-P.

"You... what are you trying to do?! Listen, we're still—"

"Annoying."

As the others tried to shield Psycho-P, Genrou simply activated his Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror's Haki).

In an instant, every Treasure Hunter present—except for his own crew—collapsed unconscious.

After that, Genrou walked up and placed his hand on Psycho-P's chest.

When he lifted it, a strange fruit with swirling patterns had appeared in his palm.

"As expected of our vice-captain—he really can extract Devil Fruits even after someone's eaten them."

Zoro sheathed his sword and eyed the fruit with interest.

"That's the Color-Color Fruit. The user gains the ability to turn themselves and anything they touch invisible."

"They can also copy the colors of objects and transfer them onto others."

"Well, Zoro—interested in eating it?"

Genrou turned the Color-Color Fruit in his hand, smiling at Zoro.

"Aren't you collecting Devil Fruits to power up the Heroic Spirit templates?"

"Devil Fruits can be used that way, yes. But that doesn't mean you can't also eat one directly and gain a power. You saw that guy's ability just now—don't you want to become an invisible swordsman?"

"No thanks. I don't want to turn into a hammer like Luffy in water. Besides, I've got my swords and the power of Kokushibou you gave me—that's more than enough."

"I see… That's a shame."

Genrou sighed.

As someone who had read the original story, he knew that the Straw Hat crew's cook, Sanji, had always dreamed of gaining invisibility. He'd even set his sights on the Suke Suke no Mi (Clear-Clear Fruit).

Now, if this Color-Color Fruit—which was arguably an upgraded version—were to be eaten by Zoro instead, things between Sanji and Zoro would definitely get more... interesting.

Just imagining the arguments made Genrou want to laugh.

"You're definitely thinking about something stupid right now," Zoro said with a frown.

"Not at all." Genrou waved it off. "Anyway, the fight's over. Let's get moving."

"This ship took too much damage from Nami's attack—can't sail anymore."

"Let's just take the treasure and return to our little boat."

Zoro and Luffy naturally had no objections.

The three of them worked together and quickly looted all the treasure from the ship.

"Genrou, are you going to keep that drunk-smelling woman's bow?"

Back on their own boat, Zoro noticed Genrou had thrown Naomi back onto the wrecked ship but kept her weapon. He asked curiously.

"Her arrows are interesting. I want to study them—maybe I can reverse engineer and improve them."

Genrou picked up one of the remaining arrows and studied its tip.

"You plan on using a bow from now on?"

Zoro asked while helping Luffy paddle.

Although Nami was unconscious, Genrou could read nautical charts just fine.

"Why not? I've actually always known how to use a bow."

Genrou smiled, then added:

"Though honestly, rather than using it myself, I'd prefer to improve these arrows and pass the tech to our future sniper."

"Our crew is small for now—but one day, we'll have a sniper, right?"

Among Satou Kazuma's many abilities were not just combat skills, but also various life skills:

Blacksmithing, magic tool crafting, cooking… you name it.

Dissecting and improving an arrow's design? Child's play.

He was confident that when he eventually met Usopp, he could help the guy craft even stronger ammo.

"Yeah, Genrou's right. We definitely need a sniper."

"Genrou, when do you think we'll find ours?"

Luffy asked as he paddled.

"Who knows? Maybe on our next stop, we'll meet the perfect one for our crew."

Genrou smirked mysteriously.

Others might not know, but he certainly did.

Very soon, they'd meet the man known for performing miracles in desperate moments—the Sniper King, Usopp.

Suddenly, Genrou's eyes flashed red. He sharply turned around.

Just now, his Kenbunshoku Haki picked up several familiar auras approaching.

Tsuru, Gion… and those female marines? Seriously, what kind of karma do I have with these women?

Genrou frowned.

He knew their current ship didn't stand a chance against a Navy battleship.

"Heehee, Genrou, you're right—we might find our sniper on the next island!"

"Alright, Zoro! Let's paddle faster—I can't wait to land!"

Luffy shouted in excitement and grabbed his oar to row faster.

But just then, the small boat beneath them rumbled.

Looking down, they saw the Golden Deer rise from the sea, lifting them into the air.

"Heh, since you're in such a hurry, Luffy…"

"I'll use the Golden Deer to give us a boost."

With a snap of his fingers, Genrou commanded the ship forward.

The Golden Deer shot off at full speed, disappearing into the horizon.

Moments later, Tsuru's battleship arrived at the scene of the battle.

"A fight happened here."

"That aura from earlier—could it really have been him?"

Gion stood at the bow of the ship, gazing in the direction the Golden Deer had gone, lost in thought.
