Chapter 16: Chapter 16 : “Despair”
The island of God Valley was a place of extravagant beauty, lush forests, towering cliffs, and golden beaches untouched by war. But beneath this paradise, a sinister tradition was unfolding.
At the heart of the valley, within an opulent arena built exclusively for their amusement, the Celestial Dragons lounged in luxury. Dressed in flowing silk robes, adorned with extravagant jewelry, they sat atop golden thrones, their expressions a mix of boredom and anticipation.
Inside the holding pens, hundreds of captives sat in terrified silence. Men, women, and even children, all taken from conquered lands or unfortunate backgrounds. All bore the cursed hoof of the Celestial Dragons, permanently marked as slaves, while others were criminals or rebels who had defied the World
Marine officers patrolled the perimeter, ensuring no one interfered with the sacred event.
This was the God Valley Hunting Festival, a ceremony of cruelty and dominance, where slaves, prisoners, and those deemed "lesser" were released into the wild, only to be hunted for sport by the Celestial Dragons.
A twisted game, played in the name of "entertainment."
.
A frail man trembled as the gates to the hunting grounds began to open.
"This can't be happening…" he whispered.
A woman clutched a crying child to her chest, her face set with grim determination.
A bell tolled, and with it, the gates swung open.
The hunting grounds of God Valley were set. The "prey" ran for their lives, rushing into the forests, scrambling up cliffs, diving into rivers, anywhere that might provide a chance at survival.
Above them, from their thrones, the Celestial Dragons laughed.
"Look at them scurry! Hahaha! Like little rats!" Laugh a Celestial Dragon
"Oh my, what a lovely scream that woman has! Let's hear more of it!" Laughing madly at another Celestial Dragon.
Beside them, the hunters prepared their weapons—elite bounty hunters, rogue warriors, and even Marines, all given permission to slaughter as they pleased, so long as it entertained the "gods."
The hunt had begun.
.
The sun hung high, casting an eerie golden glow over the lush forests of God Valley. The air was thick with screams, gunfire, and the cruel laughter of the hunters.
In the depths of the jungle, a young slave boy, no older than ten, stumbled over the roots of a massive tree, his bare feet torn and bleeding. Tears streaked down his dirt-covered face as he gasped for breath, his small chest rising and falling in frantic desperation.
Behind him, his pursuers closed in.
Hunter : "Run, little rat! Hahaha! I love it when they run!"
A large man clad in leather armor, his face twisted in a sadistic grin, lazily cocked his rifle and took aim. His name was Vargo, a famous bounty hunter known for his cruelty.
Vargo : "Come on, make it fun for me. Scream a little more."
The boy's legs burned as he pushed forward, weaving through the trees, but he knew it was hopeless.
A gunshot rang out.
Pain exploded in his leg, sending him crashing to the ground. Blood seeped into the dirt as he clutched his calf, his vision blurring from agony.
Vargo strolled forward, resting the smoking barrel of his rifle on his shoulder. Behind him, two more hunters followed, one a grinning pirate with jagged teeth, eager to please the Celestial Dragons.
"Do we kill him now, or drag him back?" the other hunter asked.
Vargo smirked.
"Nah. The little ones are better when they're scared." Vargo answer
The boy sobbed, crawling backward, but the hunters only laughed.
The deserter unsheathed his sword, stepping closer.
.
The air was heavy with the scent of damp earth, the tension thick enough to suffocate.
The Celestial Dragon Laughing madly at their seats watching the event happening.
A young woman, no older than seventeen, sprinted through the brush, her breathing ragged and her chest heaving in exhaustion. Her hands, bound by shackles, scraped against the sharp leaves as she desperately pushed forward.
Her hair was matted with sweat, and her clothes, torn and dirty from days of captivity, clung to her thin frame. Her name was Ana, and she had been stolen from her village during a raid. Now, she was nothing more than a game in a twisted sport, her life treated as entertainment for the Celestial Dragons.
Ana : "Come on! Come on!" she muttered to herself, willing her legs to carry her father. "I can't stop. I can't stop."
Behind her, the hunters were getting closer. Their laughter echoed through the jungle, grating against her already frayed nerves.
A large bounty hunter, dressed in a dark, skull-shaped mask, barked orders to his group.
"Split up! We'll catch her between us."
Ana's heart raced as she darted into the thick forest, weaving between towering trees and ducking under low-hanging branches. She could hear them closing in, footsteps, the crackling of leaves beneath their boots, the occasional snicker. She didn't have much time.
The ground shifted beneath her feet, and suddenly, she stumbled, her ankle twisted in a hidden hole. She cried out, but there was no time to recover, they were nearly upon her.
They were almost there.
.
With a desperate roar, Ana tore herself free from the hole, but before she could run, a spear tipped with poison slammed into the dirt beside her, narrowly missing her side. She screamed, fear gripping her chest like a vice.
Ana whipped around, her breath coming in sharp gasps, her body trembling in fear. There was no escape, no one to help. She was nothing to them. Just another animal to be hunted.
.
Suddenly, There a sound of alarm ringing through the island
.
Rocks D. Xebec, the infamous leader of the Rocks Pirates, had set his sights on the mysterious valley and the Celestial Dragons who sought to harness its ancient secrets. His fleet, a sprawling armada of dangerous pirates, mercenaries, and criminals, slowly approached the island, cutting through the sea like a massive iron fist.
On the deck, Rocks stood tall, his eyes narrowed as he surveyed the horizon. His broad frame cast a long shadow over the ship, and his presence alone commanded respect, even fear, from his crew.
His infamous devil fruit power had made him a legend, but it was his ambition and his unstoppable will that had cemented him as one of the most dangerous figures in the world.
Behind him, his crew bustled in preparation, each pirate sharpening weapons, preparing for the upcoming slaughter.
The rumbling of cannons and the creaking of the hull echoed across the waters, reverberating like a harbinger of doom.
.
As the Marines stationed at God Valley scouted the waters, they noticed the ominous rumbling of ships in the distance. The sea had become increasingly restless, waves crashing violently against the rocks, signaling the arrival of a force far greater than anything they had anticipated.
The infamous crew led by Rocks D. Xebec was on the move, their monstrous ships cutting through the water like a knife.
"Sir! The Rocks Pirates are here! They've been spotted approaching from the west!" a Marine officer cried out, his voice filled with panic as he rushed to inform the higher-ups.
Kong : ""This is it, then... Rocks are here."
Sengoku : "Brace yourselves. The battle for God Valley is about to begin."
On the horizon, the sight of Rocks' massive flagship, "Sea King's Wrath," loomed larger and larger as it approached. The ship was like a floating fortress, its towering masts and rows of cannons striking terror into anyone who saw it.
Behind it, a fleet of monstrous pirate ships followed in close formation, each ship more dangerous than the last. Rocks himself was at the helm, standing tall and proud at the bow of his flagship.
.
The Marines scrambled to get into position, securing their positions around the island and preparing for a fight they were not sure they were ready for.
The first of the Rocks Pirate ships had opened fire, launching a barrage toward the Marine encampment. The shockwaves rocked the very ground beneath them, and the air was filled with the deafening sound of cannons as the battle officially began.
.
History is in motion
.
The battle for God Valley had begun, and the Marines had little choice but to fight with everything they had. Yet, amid the chaos of war, the true battle of power was not just between pirates and Marines, but the hidden forces at play within God Valley itself.
.
(At God Valley Castle of Gods)
.
A Vice Admiral : "Esteemed Five Elder, Sirs, urgent news! The Rocks Pirates are approaching God Valley!"
Saint Ethanbaron : "As Expected, we cannot afford to allow Rocks to conquer God Valley and must be defended at all costs. Mobilize the fleet." Order Saint Ethanbaron
A Vice Admiral : "Yes Sir" Salute the Vice Admiral before leaving to convey the order.
With no more words left to say, the Five Elders quickly issued their orders. The Marines at God Valley were to be reinforced immediately, and the World Government would ensure that Rocks would not be allowed to take the island.
But it wasn't just Rocks they had to worry about. Kael, the man with the Night Abyss Dragon's power, was a wild card, his intentions unclear, his ambition insatiable. The Five Elders could not afford to ignore him if he came to the island too.
.
(At God Valley Port)
.
Rear Admiral Lissette : "All units, prepare for battle! Hold the line!" she ordered, her voice steady.
The first cannonball exploded against the island's defenses, sending a shower of stone and dirt into the air. The Marines braced themselves, their hands gripping weapons and cannons with nervous anticipation.
.
Rock : "Prepare to bombard the island!" Rocks roared, his voice carrying across the deck.
The ships began to unleash a barrage of cannon fire. Explosions rocked the island as the Marines struggled to hold their ground, sending a cloud of dust and smoke into the air.
Kong : "Alright.. Sengoku, Garp, Zephyr… you guys know what to do"informed Kong
Sengoku : "Yes Marshal…" answered Sengoku
Garp : "Bwahahaha….. This is going to be interesting…"Laugh Garp
Zephyr : "..."
.
As the Rocks Pirates' ships docked at the island, the earth seemed to tremble under the weight of their arrival. The island's defenses were no match for the overwhelming power of these legendary pirates.
Rocks D. Xebec stood tall as he surveyed the island, a grim smile playing across his lips.
Rocks : "This is the beginning," Rock muttered.
The other pirates disembarked, each one leaving their mark on the island. Big Mom laughed maniacally, while Kaido looked like a living storm, his eyes scanning the horizon. Shiki twirled his blade, while Edward Newgate remained silent, his massive frame cutting through the air like an immovable force.
In the distance, a lone Marine captain stood at attention, his heart racing in his chest as he watched the Rocks Pirates' arrival.
"This... this is it..." a Marine captain whispered, his voice barely audible. "The legends... they were true."
