Chapter 82: Chapter 82 : Shichiseiken Sword! Flame-Flame Fruit? I'm not familiar with it!
The Shichiseiken
Mount Solaga, the highest mountain in Askar.
Halfway up the mountain lay a hidden cave that appeared to be naturally formed.
Inside the cave, a gorgeous sword emitting an enchanting green light rested quietly on the stone platform at the center, waiting for the arrival of its "destined person"... to die.
"Is this the place? The Shichiseiken is hidden really deep~" Weiwei looked around curiously.
Under the illumination of Hikaru's lightning, darkness fled from the cave, making it bright as day.
"My Lord God, that is the 'cursed holy sword' Shichiseiken. According to legend, any human who dares to pick it up will have their mind taken away..."
"If there's no one around, the person holding the sword will stab themselves frantically until they collapse powerlessly. If others are present, they'll swing the sword and kill indiscriminately before stabbing themselves..."
Maya's voice trembled only slightly; she wasn't too frightened to speak clearly. After all, her grandmother Elisa had merely told her these stories—she'd never witnessed such events personally.
"So this is indeed a cursed blade."
As soon as Robin arrived, she began to appreciate the ancient structures. The inscriptions adorning them were her intellectual nourishment, though slightly less satisfying than the delicious food Hikaru had prepared for her.
Hikaru nodded, released Maya's soft waist, and was about to step forward to examine the Shichiseiken when, unexpectedly, Maya's legs weakened and she nearly collapsed.
Fortunately, Hikaru reacted quickly. With a smile, he caught and steadied her. It was entirely his fault!
Maya didn't understand what was happening to her. The strange sensations flowing through her body and mind were unlike anything she'd experienced before. After whispering a few apologetic words to Hikaru, she composed herself and stood firmly.
Little did she know that the cause of her discomfort was silently appreciating her reactions, contemplating how to further "captivate" her!
Hikaru gently stroked Maya's hair, then walked happily to the stone platform to examine the Shichiseiken.
The blade was slender and sharp, emanating a cold light that suggested it could slice through the sky in an instant. It resembled the longswords from his homeland.
Exquisite patterns were engraved along the sword's body, with a faint green luminescence flowing through them, hinting at the weapon's extraordinary nature.
"Yes, this Shichiseiken has a gorgeous appearance. I doubt there are many swords in this world that can compare. It will make a fine addition to my collection."
Hikaru felt satisfied. By this point in time, Saga should have obtained the Shichiseiken long ago. Could it be that Saga didn't exist here?
With this thought, he couldn't help but ask Maya, who stood behind him:
"Maya, do you know Saga?"
"Saga? What is that?" The confusion in Maya's eyes didn't seem feigned. It truly appeared that neither Saga nor the naval dojo on Asuka Island existed here.
Thinking about it carefully, it made sense. According to the traditions of shrine maidens, once a woman devoted herself to this path, she had to commit herself wholeheartedly to the gods and avoid romantic entanglements.
In other words, if Maya was to become a shrine maiden, she needed to remain pure and innocent. How could her grandmother have arranged for her to meet Saga?
In this case, what was Saga? Ruling the world, having loyal friends to help... perhaps these were merely fantasies from another lifetime.
Hikaru calmed himself and raised his hand. A moment later, a red light flashed in his eyes.
[The Shichiseiken suddenly emitted an eerie green light. As he grasped it, his arm became entangled with dark green energy that tried to invade his body. Rune-like green markings briefly appeared on his arm before completely vanishing...]
"This Shichiseiken is truly remarkable~"
Hikaru wrapped Armament Haki around his hands while unleashing Conqueror's Haki against the Shichiseiken.
When he grasped the blade, a dark green light appeared momentarily before being forcibly dispersed by his Conqueror's Haki. The energy couldn't escape the sword's body, leaving only the exquisite patterns and a faint green glow visible.
With a flash of lightning, Hikaru appeared outside in midair. He swung the sword toward the distance, sending a green energy slash toward a thick tree.
Whoosh!
The faint sound of air being displaced wasn't due to weak power—rather, the sword energy was so sharp that even the sound of air being cut was barely audible.
BANG!
The massive tree split in two and crashed to the ground with a thunderous noise. Green flames burned at the cut, devouring everything they touched.
In less than a moment, the tree's remains were reduced to ashes.
What kind of power was this? The Shichiseiken could actually emit strange green flames?
At that moment, Hikaru recalled a saying: "Even dogs wouldn't eat the Flame-Flame Fruit!"
The experiment continued. Holding the Shichiseiken, he swung it several more times toward the open space in the distance. Three green will-o'-wisp orbs burst from the sword's tip.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The will-o'-wisps exploded upon hitting the ground, leaving three large elliptical craters. Such power likely exceeded that of ordinary artillery shells.
However, the strength displayed by the Shichiseiken fell short of Hikaru's standards. For someone of his caliber, it simply wasn't enough.
Perhaps only in the hands of a true swordsman could it reveal its full potential. Yet as a magical blade, if the wielder lacked sufficient mental fortitude, they might meet a violent end.
Hikaru nodded with satisfaction. Although the Shichiseiken held little practical use for him, its impressive appearance made it perfect for showing off someday.
He casually tossed the Shichiseiken, storing it in his dimensional room, where it joined Shusui and other blades mounted on the wall.
The next moment, Hikaru flashed behind Maya and gently embraced her. He wasn't someone who easily tired of companions, but he believed in spending extra time with newcomers to better secure their devotion.
"Ah~ God!"
Maya's face flushed red. Initially startled by his sudden approach, she relaxed upon recognizing his familiar scent and shyly buried her face against his chest.
Meanwhile, Robin studied every corner of the cave. This ancient site with its murals and carved symbols was exactly the sort of place she loved.
Nami and Vivi also explored the area, hoping to discover hidden treasures.
However, having already obtained Askar Island's three most precious treasures—the witch Maya, the "Cursed Sword" Shichiseiken, and the three gems—it seemed unlikely they would find anything else of great value.
Hikaru had no intention of interrupting their exploration. While waiting, he leaned close to whisper in Maya's ear, working to strengthen the bond between god and witch.
Just as Maya murmured with a dazed expression and Hikaru spoke romantic words as though they were alone, an excited shout interrupted them.
"Masaka?!"
It was Nami's voice. Everyone turned toward the sound and saw her holding a Devil Fruit.
The white fruit featured patterns resembling Reiju's playfully curled eyebrows, with six green stems and leaves emerging from the top, each ending in a white heart-shaped leaf.
