Chapter 26: Iron Body: Steel!
Seeing Blueno appear before her, Nico Robin broke out in a cold sweat.
She could guess what Meiser had been trying to do earlier—using her as bait to lure out CP9 agents, then eliminating them to obtain the keys.
Had any other CP9 member appeared, this plan would have worked perfectly fine. Meiser could have easily struck before they took her away.
But the problem was... this time they were facing Blueno!
While his Devil Fruit ability might not significantly enhance combat, it could be extremely troublesome in certain situations. Like now—if he dragged her into an Air Door... Damn it!
Without hesitation, Nico Robin turned to crash through the door and escape.
But Blueno didn't give her the chance. By the time she turned, he was already blocking the exit.
"I won't let you call for help," Blueno said coldly.
He hadn't expected this mission to be so easy—Nico Robin falling back into their hands without resistance!
Robin opened her mouth to scream, but Blueno spoke first: "Don't bother. I saw that guy run upstairs with my own eyes. Otherwise, I wouldn't have dared show myself."
Blueno knew well that stealing Nico Robin from that man required strategy. Moreover, Spandam had already activated the Buster Call. After the battle, his Devil Fruit ability might be needed to evacuate all CP9 members from Enies Lobby.
He couldn't afford to take risks or die here!
Despite Blueno's words, Robin refused to comply. She shouted, "Meiser! He's here!"
Blueno didn't stop her, simply watching as seconds passed. Beads of sweat formed on Robin's forehead—apparently, he'd told the truth.
Yet trusting Meiser, she refused to despair. Maybe... he'd anticipated this?
Calming down, Robin suddenly noticed the scroll in her arms... wriggling?
"Enough, Nico Robin. Come with me," Blueno extended his hand.
The sooner he delivered her to Spandam, the sooner this mission would end. As for that ninja?
Hah! With the Buster Call activated, none of the Straw Hat Pirates except Nico Robin would survive. Did that damn ninja really think he could challenge the Buster Call's undefeated legend?
Blueno certainly didn't believe Meiser could break that myth. There was no need for a direct confrontation.
"Meiser won't let you succeed," Robin stood straight, speaking calmly.
Her composure unsettled Blueno.
'Something's wrong... very wrong!'
His instincts screamed of imminent danger, but what was the source? He'd clearly seen the ninja running upstairs—that's why he'd dared approach.
Nico Robin's expression was eerily calm, as if she didn't care at all about being here.
Could she be confident about escaping from his grasp?
Or perhaps... she believed that ninja could snatch her back?
"Enough!" Blueno declared. "Whatever the source of your composure is... as long as I take you away, all problems will be solved!"
Having reached this conclusion, Blueno decisively reached out to grab Nico Robin, intending to take her away first.
At that moment, a scroll suddenly sprang from Nico Robin's body, spinning midair.
This unexpected development immediately caught Blueno's attention.
'Is this... Nico Robin's trump card?' Blueno thought to himself.
Poof~
White smoke flashed, and the small scroll instantly transformed into a human figure.
"It's you!!"
Seeing that familiar face, Blueno's expression twisted into utter shock.
What was happening?
Why did a scroll appear?
Why did that scroll turn into that ninja?
Hadn't that ninja already run upstairs? How could this be?
Was this some Devil Fruit ability?
Countless questions flooded Blueno's mind—he couldn't comprehend the scene before him.
"Yo~"
"Hello there, bull-headed freak," Meiser grinned beside Robin. "You just scared our Robin. How are you going to make up for that?"
As he spoke, Meiser glanced at Blueno's Air Door, thinking: 'A spatial-type Devil Fruit user... interesting!'
This was truly reeling in a good catch.
"Meiser!"
Robin looked at him in pleasant surprise. No wonder he had placed that thing on her—it was actually him transformed?
But then, what about the person who had just left?
Nico Robin was filled with confusion, but she didn't plan to ask now—the fight wasn't over yet!
"Damn it, why are you here?" Blueno demanded. "I clearly saw you leave and go upstairs just now!"
"What kind of Devil Fruit ability do you have?"
As he spoke, Blueno began inching sideways, intending to retreat into his Air Door first.
Though he didn't understand what was happening, since this man had appeared, there was no reason to stay any longer.
'Damn it, I should've brought the others with me,' Blueno thought bitterly.
Though several of his comrades were already fighting the enemy, not all of them were here!
"Sorry, but I don't have the habit of explaining my abilities to enemies," Meiser said coolly. "Only idiots do that."
Boasting about one's abilities to an enemy for cheap thrills?
To Meiser, that was the dumbest move—once the enemy discovered a weakness, they could turn the tables!
"In that case..."
"See you later!"
"Shave!"
With that, Blueno dashed toward his Air Door without hesitation, intent on escaping first.
As the Air Door drew closer, delight flashed in Blueno's eyes.
Almost there... just a little more!!
Bam!!
A heavy force struck Blueno's side, sending him flying horizontally with tremendous impact!
"Whoosh~"
"Boom!!"
"Boom!!"
He smashed through two walls before finally crashing to a stop in the hallway!!
"Pfft!"
Blood sprayed from his mouth as Blueno's expression twisted in agony.
His opponent's speed was simply too fast—he hadn't even had a chance to enter an Air Door before being sent flying.
'Damn it... If I weren't a practitioner of the Six Powers, that punch would have knocked me out cold!'
The sheer weight behind that strike was unbelievable. No wonder Kalifa had warned him about this man's strength.
"Didn't expect me to be faster, did you?" Meiser stepped through the newly made hole in the wall, grinning down at Blueno.
"Tch..."
Spitting out a mouthful of blood, Blueno rose to his feet. "Don't get cocky. As a Superhuman who's mastered the Six Powers, turning the tables on you isn't impossible!"
"Oh really?"
"Let's see if you can take this punch first!"
The moment the words left Meiser's mouth, he closed the distance at blinding speed and launched a devastating fist.
Watching the approaching punch, Blueno knew blocking this attack was his only chance to counter.
In that case... he'd rely on his proudest technique—Iron Body—to withstand this man's assault!
"Iron Body: Steel!"
"Super Strength Fist!!"
