One piece: Establishing a Pirate Family

Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Naval Battle

Chapter 215: Naval Battle

The turbulent sea raged as the two fleets faced each other from a distance.

Barrett stood at the helm, looking at the enemy's fifty warships with a disdainful smirk.

Though he had brought only fifteen ships, he was confident in his victory.

"Attack!"

Barrett wasted no time, issuing the order without hesitation.

"Fire the cannons!"

As his voice echoed, all officers roared in response.

The Rockefeller Pirates' fleet of fifteen ships unleashed a barrage of cannon fire upon the Eight-Nation Alliance's warships.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Cannonballs whizzed through the air.

Most of them splashed into the sea, with only a few lucky shots hitting enemy ships.

"Fire back!"

The Eight-Nation Alliance was no fool. Seeing the pirates open fire, they immediately retaliated.

"As expected, pirates are just barbarians—a bunch of uncivilized brutes!"

On one of the most luxurious ships, surrounded by a fleet of warships, a group of nobles sipped wine, watching the battle unfold from afar.

From their vantage point, they could only see tiny specks of pirate ships in the distance.

Seeing the enemy attack so recklessly, the nobles scoffed with utter contempt.

"Let us toast to our impending victory!"

One noble raised his glass, and the others followed, drinking in celebration.

From their perspective, fifty warships against fifteen was a guaranteed win.

The cannon battle raged on.

Both sides were well-prepared, engaging in intense artillery fire.

For over an hour, the bombardment continued.

As both fleets ran low on ammunition, the commanders of both sides gave the same order:

"Charge!"

"Let them know the might of the Rockefeller Pirates!"

Barrett, standing at four meters tall, roared from the helm.

Flags waved as commands spread across all ships.

The Rockefeller Pirates' fleet advanced toward the Eight-Nation Alliance's warships.

Despite an hour of shelling, not a single enemy warship had sunk, though a few sustained minor damage.

The reason?

The Rockefeller Pirates had never been particularly skilled in naval artillery.

They never trained for it.

Most of their crew consisted of swordsmen recruited by Charlotte. Master swordsmen, not gunners.

Asking them to fire cannons was like asking a chef to be a sniper—a complete mismatch.

Meanwhile, enemy cannon fire was mostly intercepted by skilled fighters aboard the pirate ships.

After an hour of shelling, the battle had become pointless.

The Eight-Nation Alliance's fleet watched the fifteen pirate ships closing in and realized their intentions.

"Soldiers! This is our moment! We must treat this battle as our final stand—one decisive fight to determine our fate! Let the land armies watch in awe—for it is the navy that is the true power of the empire! Charge!"

A general aboard the alliance's flagship raised his knightly sword, rallying the troops.

"Charge!"

The soldiers roared in unison.

Their flintlock rifles and sabers were ready as they braced for the boarding battle.

Their battle cries drowned out their fear.

The two fleets collided.

"Attack!"

Both sides clashed violently, turning the sea into a bloody battlefield.

Barrett was the first to storm the enemy flagship, seeking out their general.

"Pirate!"

The elderly general, half Barrett's height, roared in defiance.

He raised his knightly sword, covered in Armament Haki, and charged at Barrett.

"Oh? You actually know Haki? Maybe I shouldn't underestimate the strength of your kingdoms!"

Barrett grinned before throwing a punch.

His raw power overwhelmed everything.

If not for the unstable footing on the ocean, he would have activated his Devil Fruit form.

"Pirate! Do not underestimate me! I have eaten more salt than you've eaten rice!"

The old general, though knocked back by Barrett's punch, refused to yield.

"Heh! Big talk! Let's see if your mouth is tougher than my fists!"

Barrett smirked, unimpressed.

The duel resumed.

Due to the rocking ship, Barrett couldn't fight at full strength.

Yet even under these conditions, he dominated the kingdom's general.

The battle raged.

The Rockefeller Pirates displayed astonishing combat power.

After an hour of frustration, the swordsmen among them unleashed their fury, slashing through enemy lines.

Despite the alliance's numerical advantage, the battle remained balanced.

The enemy generals were held back by Carter and other officers.

A Sudden Appearance

Amid the chaos, a small figure sneaked out from below deck.

Reaching the main deck, she looked at the surrounding battle with excitement.

"For Rockefeller!"

The petite girl, wielding a rapier as tall as she was, charged into the fray.

She was Esdeath!

The moment she appeared, she drew attention.

Less than 1.6 meters tall, dressed in a white military uniform, with silver-blue hair.

She raised her elegant rapier high, shouting for Rockefeller.

There was no way she would go unnoticed.

"Lady Esdeath?"

Isaac, one of the nearest officers, immediately recognized her.

Seeing Esdeath on the battlefield, Isaac froze in shock, before his face contorted in rage.

"Damn it! Why is Lady Esdeath here?! Who was supposed to watch the ship? Protect Lady Esdeath immediately! If anything happens to her, none of you will survive!"

Isaac roared, commanding nearby soldiers to guard her.

He moved to shield her himself.

But his opponent wasn't going to let him leave so easily.

"You think you can walk away, pirate?! Face me first!"

A general blocked his path, forcing Isaac to stay and fight.

Isaac's orders still spread.

However, the enemy overheard them too.

"Capture that little girl! She's the key to our victory!"

Following their captain's orders, enemy soldiers moved in on Esdeath.

Esdeath's Bloodlust Awakens

Despite being only eight years old, Esdeath had been personally trained by Charlotte in swordsmanship.

Within moments, she had cut down seven or eight men.

The thrill of battle excited her.

"HAHAHAHAHA! So this is what killing feels like?! I love it!"

Her smile twisted, revealing a deranged bloodlust.

"Lady Esdeath! What are you doing here?! Leave now—this is too dangerous!"

The Rockefeller crew, seeing her reckless slaughter, rushed to pull her away.

But Esdeath ignored them, still lost in her bloodlust.

"Seize the girl! She's Rockefeller Charlotte's daughter! If we capture her, the battle is over!"

Upon hearing this, enemy soldiers swarmed toward her.
