Chapter 4: 4
"(Original) Sengoku: Why is your world so different from ours?"
"(Current) Sengoku: Why is your world so different from ours?"
Both Sengokus sent out barrages almost simultaneously, then paused, realizing something at the same time. As expected of themselves, they were the first to discover a way for the two worlds to communicate.
Sengoku could feel a slight drain on his stamina every time he sent a message. He was growing slightly fatigued. If it were an ordinary person, they would likely faint after sending too many. It made sense—this ensured that common people wouldn't flood the screen with meaningless messages, maintaining the quality of the conversation.
Why were the two worlds so different?
Neither Sengoku could provide an answer. Even the "Resourceful General" couldn't identify the cause without a proper comparison. Instead, they chose to skip the topic, knowing that the answer might emerge during Luffy's comparison. One was a Marine Admiral, the other a Pirate—their life trajectories had diverged too greatly for it to be natural. There had to be an external influence.
"(Original) Sengoku: As the Marine Fleet Admiral, how could you allow your subordinates to behave like this? What if the pirates attacked?"
"(Current) Sengoku: Where are the pirates? I can't find any anywhere in the world. Sigh.JPG"
What?
No pirates in that world?
Since the start of the Great Age of Pirates, they had flooded the seas like an unstoppable tide. Capturing them was an endless battle. How could they simply be… gone?
Garp, unable to hold back, followed Sengoku's method and started spamming barrages.
"(Current) Garp: Luffy, you little brat! Who told you to be a pirate? You've made me lose face!"
"(Current) Garp: Where's your no-good father? What kind of education did he give you? Tell him to get over here, or I'll smack him in the face with my slipper!"
Garp was about to continue when a system notification blocked him.
"You are temporarily banned from sending barrages for 5 minutes due to excessive messaging."
Garp stomped his foot in frustration, but in the original world, his words struck like a thunderbolt.
"What? Straw Hat Luffy is actually Garp's grandson?! And Dragon's son?!"
At that moment, in Revolutionary Army Headquarters, Dragon touched his cheek, where a fresh slipper mark had been imprinted. His face darkened.
"This old man! No matter which world he's from, he's unreasonable."
"And he dares say I don't know how to educate my son, as if he knows how to do it himself!"
Dragon's eyes then locked onto his alternate self in the Marine world.
In that world, he stood arm-in-arm with Garp, an Admiral of the Marines.
Strangely, there were no slipper marks on his face.
"He hasn't been beaten?"
"This doesn't make sense."
"They look like a loving father and son. They even stick together all the time. Disgusting. How could I possibly be that disgusting?"
Dragon shuddered at the thought. He couldn't wait to see what had changed his alternate self.
"(Original) Kaido: That guy over there, don't pretend to be me. I wouldn't say such disgusting things, and I definitely wouldn't accept such a ridiculous award!"
The original world's pirates perked up at this juicy gossip. This was a rare Eight Trigrams moment involving the Four Emperors.
"(Current) Kaido: It seems the me in that world hasn't untied the knot in his heart and hasn't truly seen the truth."
"(Original) Kaido: Bullsh*t! My dream is to become the Pirate King!"
"(Current) Kaido: There's no point in arguing. It looks like he needs to find that person as well."
"Which person?"
"Don't just say half of it!"
"The two most annoying people in the world are those who don't finish their sentences."
"Damn it, what's the second type? You're still not finishing!"
"What? Someone actually enlightened Kaido to the point that he abandoned his ambition and became a family man? Who the hell is strong enough to change a Four Emperor's mind?"
Curiosity surged among the audience.
"(Original) Shanks: Tell me more."
"(Original) Big Mom: Explain in detail."
"(Original) Yamato: Hisss~ I need to know everything."
"(Original) Sengoku: To be honest, I'm curious too."
The original world's barrage comments poured in rapidly, but Kaido in the present world remained silent.
He had received a warning.
Any further spoilers, and he would be banned.
Even though he stopped talking, people in the original world had already caught onto something critical.
That person!
Sengoku's expression turned serious as he whispered to Tsuru beside him.
"Did you notice? He said that person. It seems like this individual is the key to the major divergence between our two worlds."
But to his surprise, Tsuru suddenly took a step away, her face slightly flushed.
Sengoku frowned. "Colonel Tsuru? Why do you look so—?"
Then, he followed her gaze to the big screen.
There, his alternate self was gently helping a pregnant Tsuru sit down before kissing her forehead.
The original Sengoku's face turned bright red. If embarrassment could kill, he'd already be six feet under. He suddenly wished he could dig a hole straight to Impel Down and bury himself inside.
Now he understood why Tsuru had stepped back.
After all, the moment people looked into the alternate world, they naturally searched for themselves first, eager to see their differences.
He had been so focused on analyzing himself that he hadn't noticed Tsuru's alternate self until now.
He hadn't expected that version of himself to be so… uninhibited.
Kissing her like that? In front of so many people?
What kind of experience had he gone through in that world?
Could it also be related to that person?
The sooner they found out, the better. Right now, he just wanted to move on.
Garp, seeing the scene, grinned mischievously.
"You're still going strong even in old age, huh, Sengoku?"
"Tsuru, you're as brave as any man!"
Tsuru's expression stiffened before she promptly kicked Garp square in the face.
Flushing slightly, she snapped, "That's not how you use that phrase! If you don't know how to talk, just shut up!"
Just then, the screen flickered again.
Luffy from both worlds appeared, side by side.
"Comparison begins."
"(Current World) Luffy vs. (Original World) Luffy"

The countdown ended.
The scene shifted.
Windmill Village.
Makino's tavern.
The lively cheers of pirates filled the room.
The camera focused in.
The pirates were none other than the Red-Haired Pirates.
Luffy was about to prove to everyone that he was a man.
Both worlds watched intently.
So far, the scenes were identical.
But they knew.
The turning point was coming.
What had happened to make Luffy take two completely different paths?
