Chapter 31: Those In Cages
Leroy walked up to the cage.
The man, chained to the wall by his arms, didn't move. His head was hanging low so his eyes were covered by his long hair. Across his body, the cuts and bruises bled and covered the floor below him in a puddle of blood. Not that the cell itself was clean before he bled all over it. The bars to the cell were rusted and had stains over them from past inhabitants of the cell.
And put his hands on the bars before he suddenly heard a voice behind him. Preventing him from ripping the bars straight out of the ground.
"Stop! D-Don't Move any Closer!" The Voice was shaky. Fearful.
Turning around Leroy saw a scrawny man with a pistol pointed straight at him. He wore a pink pinstriped shirt , sleeves undone, with a tie that was loose around his neck. Leroy simply held that same emotionless look on his face as he stared at the man.
"You don't know what you're doing! If-If you release them! We're all dead!" The man pleaded.
"Oh yeah? Izzatso?" He said tilting his head to the side as he sarcastically responded to the fear.
"Don't-DONT FUCK WITH ME! I'm serious! If any of these bitches get out! They're all dead anyway. He'll make sure of it!" The man pulled his hand up to his thinning combover, gripping. Sweat drenching him while he shook his head...
Leroy frowned deeper at his words before asking the man a question
"Who?"
The man shook harder as He held the weapon as steady as he could. Even if he shot. It'd be clear of anyone around him.
"I-...He-...De Leon Tizona...The Member of the Royal Marshal Privateers…Him and the Corleone Family have ties to this island. And recently have been making headway. They've got so many People in their pockets! They Use these girls as whores…As Waitresses. Who knows where they come from…"
"Almost every girl you see..." He didn't know why he was saying it, but the fear was making him.
"I Have a debt to pay…I screwed up with Tiziona. And If Don't do this. He'll kill me and Everyone else I know ...."
Leroy heard his words. And lifted his hands up to show that he was in danger in front of the mans pistol
"Look…You can stop this, You can put the gun down. And give me the keys. And this will all be forgotten. You can make a run for it. And Escape this."
Leroy was lying.
He knew that someone of such influence had ties to even the East Blue. Even to this tiny bit of only a handful of slaves and a bit of profits from the Loudest Island in the East. That they'd be able to hunt this man down somehow. It'd also mean that they might be on his head too.
But given his reputation at this point. He doubted anyone like assassins would be sent.
The man nodded his head. His vision was blurred. And he just wanted out. Somehow. He just wanted to here it. The man Lowered his Gun as he continued to nod, tossing Leroy the Keys.
THWACK
Leroys fist was planted into his face and he was knocked out cold. Falling limp in the middle of the Slave room.
Leroy let out a sigh as he looked at the pathetic man. Sure he was forced into this. But he'd also chosen the life that had led to it, and continued it. Leroy had always been a good judge of character...
The Red Sashed Pirate then opened up the Blue Haired Woman's Cage. And Undid her Chains. Catching her before she hit the ground. He Held her gently as he Undid the IV And watched as she regained lucidity, waking up from being struck in the head by the man.
"Huh?! Where!" Her voice was light.
"Shhh Shhh…It's okay…I've got you. You're alright." He spoke with such a smoothness to his voice that it seemed to almost instantly put the woman at ease.
"Can you stand?" He asked.
The woman rubbed her eyes with small hands. Blinking a few times as she breathed. "Y-Yeah.."
Leroy kept his arm around her as she wobbled on her legs, knees clacking together while her hands gripped into Leroys shirt.
"You actually...Took Tod out." She said as she realized the man now known as Tod was out cold against the floor.
Her eyes began to widen, looking around to the other women
"I'm gonna free the others alright? Try and Help the Others And get the hell out of here okay?" Leroy nodded his head as she spoke to her.
Reaching into a pouch on the inside of his sash he pulled the Casino sub tab "Use this okay?"
"You'll be okay. Everyone's taken care of outside."
Standing to his feet. Leroy left the Cage and Approached the Other cage. The one with the man inside of it.
As he was about to put the Key in, the hand of the woman touched his. Now wearing a pull over garment like a Nightgown. "Let me Help with him..."
Leroy was about to pressure her into leaving when she spoke again "Then we'll all leave..."
Red Sash nodded.
"Kále! Kále!" The woman held both sides of the scruffy faced man, calling his name.
"Hey. Are you in there?" Leroy added with a snap of his fingers, giving a smile.
To Leroy there was something about him. He seemed strong. Yet resolved. Leroy's mind was connecting the dots as he undid the chains of the man, effortlessly crushing the rusted metal. Catching him as he fell limply.
He seemed like someone he'd want on his crew.
The man chained to the wall opened his eyes, slowly, as he heard the voices, it was odd though. A familiar voice that he'd heard before, it was... Upon realizing who the voice was, the man's head lifted slowly and shakily. He was weak and in great pain from his many injuries.
His gaze then shifted to see... not who he was expecting. Even with his tired a fogged mind, he understood what was going on...
"Go... with him... Forget about me... Masa..." That nickname that he'd given her during their Childhood.
Masa let out a small squeak, wrapping her arms around the neck of Kále. Leroy letting out a chuckle as he saw that the man was 'Alright'
"You don't need to be so loud... I was napping..." Kále, the now unchained man spoke... his voice was quiet but deep and powerful. It was the voice of a man, a real mans man.
Was he really just napping? Was he lying? Who knows.
"If you're gonna beat me again, hurry up. I was having a really nice dream there..." Kále seemed to forget that Masa was with him
"Don't mind him Mehehe...He's got a horrible memory."
"You know for someone that just told a girl you know. 'Go with him' you certainly seem to think I'm like one of those hundred pricks currently bleeding across the floor" He added.
"Yeah, I guess so. But seems like I'm wrong. You seem like less of a dick than those other guys..." He looked Leroy up and down. And that smile, told him enough.
