A majestic figure strode out from the collapsed mountain, blood pouring from his body like rain, staining the ground beneath his feet red.
The shocking wounds all over his body were visible to the naked eye. But even so, this strongest creature in the world, on land, sea, and air, was still alive.
His aura was imposing. He stood there, and the surrounding Marines dared not approach.
"Who dares to speak such arrogant words?" a cold, deep voice came from Kaido's mouth. As he spoke, his eyes also swept across the area.
Then, in the next second, his pupils suddenly contracted, and his whole body shuddered.
Seeing the tall man holding a longsword, staring at him with overwhelming hatred in his eyes, a memory long forgotten deep within Kaido's mind resurfaced with startling speed.
"You are? Kozuki Oden!"
Although his body size was very different from his memory, that was a face he could never forget.
The man wore wooden clogs, and flames hovered behind his head. His gaze was icy cold, as if he had returned from hell itself, and his aura was unbelievably powerful.
"I see. Did you join the Marines?" Kaido said in a low voice, a hint of seriousness in his eyes. As a former rival, he was naturally well aware of his opponent's strength.
Although many years had passed and his own power had grown, the man named Kozuki Oden was still not to be underestimated.
Especially now, as he was heavily injured, his stamina and energy were not what they used to be.
"The hatred of the past should be settled today. Kaido!" Kozuki Oden roared. His aura reached its peak, and flames burned fiercely in his eyes.
For how many years had he waited for this moment! To cut down his sworn enemy with the sword in his own hands!
"You want revenge? Worororo! Then come and try, Kozuki Oden!!" Kaido burst out laughing.
He bent down to pick up his iron club from the ground, a cold glint reappearing in his eyes. The war with Arashi was undoubtedly over for now.
He had ended up defeated and had withdrawn from that peak battle. At this moment, this was his own battle for life or death.
In his heavily injured state, he would be worn down and killed even by ordinary elite Marines, let alone the man before him, Kozuki Oden.
But soon, Kaido's spirit was roused again. "Arashi can fight the fiercest battles while heavily injured! What does this count for? Even if I'm to die, I will die in a great battle!"
Thinking of this, he began to laugh again. "Worororo! I think this will be the most satisfying and exhilarating battle of my life!"
As his voice fell, Kaido was about to raise his iron club and charge his opponent. But suddenly, his expression changed drastically, and he spun around.
"What are you doing?!"
On the battlefield, at some unknown point, a figure had appeared behind him, and what was even more bizarre was that the person was pulling his shadow up from the ground with one hand, while holding a pair of scissors in the other.
"Kishishishi! Kaido! Do you still remember me?" Gecko Moria cackled.
"Gecko Moria?" Kaido was startled, recalling the man's name.
This was an opponent who had long since faded from his memory, but who had left a deep impression on him in his youth.
Back then, when he had just arrived in Wano Country, he had fought a war with him and had ultimately been victorious.
"Of course I remember you! A defeated foe! I destroyed your pirate crew, didn't I? Moria!" Kaido laughed loudly.
Hearing this, the coldness in Moria's eyes deepened. Flames began to burn within them.
"It seems you still remember the grudge between us!" His words were somewhat ferocious, and Moria's eyes glinted with hatred.
His hands did not stop moving for a moment. With a snip, the scissors in his right hand cut the shadow he was pulling with his left in two.
"Ah~" Faintly, a sharp scream could be heard. Kaido's expression changed.
He keenly sensed that his shadow on the ground was gone; it was now in his opponent's hands, struggling desperately.
"What did you do to my shadow?" Moria sneered.
"In the past, I probably couldn't have performed this move, nor could I have hurt someone like you."
"But now!" After undergoing the Ashura Special Training at Marine HQ, his physique and Haki had become much stronger.
"Things are very different now!" As his voice fell, Moria's mouth suddenly opened wide. Then he stuffed Kaido's shadow, which he held in his hand, into his own body.
"What?" Kaido's face changed drastically. He had a vague feeling that something terrible had happened.
This man had eaten his shadow whole. "And not just you!" Moria laughed loudly. As he spoke, he pulled another shadow out from his coat.
From its silhouette, Kaido recognized it as the shadow of his old friend, Charlotte Linlin. "When? You took Linlin's shadow, too!"
Moria laughed, "Kishishishi, naturally, it was when you were all busy fighting Fleet Admiral Arashi!"
Kaido's expression shifted as he stared at Moria, unsure of what he intended to do after stealing their shadows.
"Although fusing both of your shadows at once is a bit of a strain! But for the sake of avenging what happened back then, it's all worth it!" Moria's face became even more ferocious, almost crazed.
He opened his mouth wide and stuffed Big Mom's shadow into it. A faint, shrill scream could be heard, enough to make one's scalp tingle.
A great black mist billowed out as Moria chewed. At the same time, his body underwent a profound transformation.
His body, already six meters tall, expanded again, reaching over eight meters, and two horns grew from the top of his head.
A black mist seeped from his pores, and a sinister, evil aura emanated from Moria's body.
"Shadow's Asgard!" a sharp, ferocious voice came from Moria's mouth. At the same time, a great wind swept out unseen, and lightning even flickered in the air.
"So powerful! But, I can barely control it!" Moria said through gritted teeth. Attempting to fuse the power of powerhouses like Kaido and Big Mom.
It was naturally an immense pressure for him. But for the sake of revenge, as he said, it was all worth it! "Today is the day you die! Kaido!" Moria roared.
The next second, he leaped up and charged toward Kaido. At the same time, Kozuki Oden also flashed forward, rushing at Kaido with his longsword in hand.
"Worororo! Just two defeated foes, you think you can take advantage of me here?" Kaido laughed, swinging his iron club with all his might.
A fierce wind suddenly surged, and time seemed to stand still at that moment.
"VMMM!"
About two breaths later, the three sides collided, and ripples spread through the void. Kaido's face changed in an instant.
His body was sent flying backward; he was completely overpowered by the two of them in terms of strength.
"RUMBLE!"
After tumbling across the ice, Kaido coughed up a large mouthful of blood and quickly got to his feet. But at that moment, Kozuki Oden leaped high into the air, diving down.
He swung his longsword at him. "Oden Two-Sword Style, Toegen Totsuka!"
With a loud roar, Kozuki Oden slashed down. A cross-shaped bloody gash was drawn from Kaido's chest to his abdomen.
The intense pain made him scream out, and he couldn't help but stumble back a few steps. But very quickly, a look of fear appeared on his face.
Because Gecko Moria, holding a large sword, was swinging it with a familiar posture and technique.
"Raimei Hakke!"
Lightning flashed, and the blow, like an iron club, struck his abdomen, sending him flying again. In just an instant, their combined attack shattered Kaido's delusions.
He was not Arashi, and he could not possess his peak fighting strength while heavily injured.
Blood flowed from his body, and the loss of his life force was something he could feel with immense clarity at this moment.
But in the blink of an eye, the two figures appeared before him again.
"Oden Two-Sword Style: Shimi Daikon!"
"Hakoku!" The heavy blows sent blood spraying from Kaido's body.
His eyes widened in disbelief as his massive body skidded a great distance across the ice.
As he watched the two charge at him again, his vision began to blur. Instead, memories of the past became crystal clear before his eyes.
A young Moria swinging his large sword, fighting a great battle with him, and ultimately being utterly defeated.
Kozuki Oden dancing above a pot of boiling oil, struck down by his own hand, yet saved by someone unknown.
"You! How could you possibly! Win against me!" Kaido roared, his eyes wide, swinging his iron club once more.
But what met him, amidst the thunder and lightning, were two heavy blows.
"BOOM!" Ferocious power erupted at that moment, completely unleashed upon him, sending him reeling back, his entire body on the verge of collapse.
"Drip~"
A drop of blood fell onto the ice, making a crisp sound. "You can't win against me!"
Watching the two of them walk towards him, Kaido suddenly raised his head and roared.
But in the face of this declaration, Kozuki Oden and Gecko Moria did not reply; they walked forward. A moment later, the two stopped ten meters from Kaido.
"It's over! Kaido!" Kozuki Oden shouted.
"What, what kind of joke is this? What do you mean, it's over? Who's over?" Kaido was stunned for a moment, then roared in fury.
But his life force was rapidly fading. He felt an unprecedented weakness, even a sense of cold.
Even the oxygen he drew into his lungs felt insufficient, and he began to suffocate. "How could I be over? Impossible!"
He suddenly felt a sense of fear, a fear of his own death, a fear of his failure. Yes, for how many years, through how much hardship and frustration.
He had finally reached the pinnacle, achieving what he had set out to do today. How could he possibly be finished?
But soon, Kaido felt dizzy and exhausted. The strength in his body was rapidly disappearing, the light in his eyes slowly faded, and finally, his head drooped, and he fell silent.
Kozuki Oden and Gecko Moria were somewhat silent at this moment. They didn't seem to feel much happiness or joy from defeating Kaido; instead, they felt a heaviness in their hearts.
"Whoosh!" The wind blew over their heads. After an unknown amount of time, a sharp, terrified scream suddenly pierced the battlefield.
"Captain Kaido!? Oh god, Captain Kaido is dead!"
The voice was loud, sharp, and cracked, causing everyone who heard it to shudder and spin around to look at where the sound came from. When they saw the scene there, their expressions changed drastically.
"What?! Kaido!"
"How is this possible? He's one of the Four Emperors, a man who reigned over this sea! To fall in this war?!" Countless people felt it was unbelievable.
Even though they had realized during the previous battle that Kaido was no match for Arashi, they still felt a tremor in their souls when the man truly fell.
The strongest creature on land, sea, and in the air! All that said, in a one-on-one fight, it had to be Kaido, right?
Two simple sentences encapsulated the power of Kaido of the Beasts. But such a formidable man was buried on the battlefield today.
"First Whitebeard, now Kaido! Who will be next? This era is truly a hell for pirates!"
A trembling voice was heard, casting a shadow over the hearts of the pirates and making them shudder. Kaido's exit made the future trend of this war clear.
"Are the Marines going to win?" someone murmured, their face filled with terror.
They couldn't imagine what kind of fate they would face if the Marines ultimately won. Suddenly.
"BOOM!"
A deafening explosion sounded from the icy surface where Onigashima had crashed. Ripples radiated outwards, and a great wind whipped at everyone's clothes.
"It's not over yet! The great battle is still going on!" a pirate shouted excitedly.
The war was indeed not over, but a victor was about to be decided. Four people in the center surrounded Arashi.
His figure continuously dodged, his hands and feet becoming his sharpest weapons, constantly clashing with the four.
Saturn, Garling, Shanks, Mihawk. These were the four he was currently facing head-on. The battle had reignited the moment the great explosion ended.
The massive explosion caused by the four cannonballs had made Onigashima fall, yet it had not injured Saturn and Garling.
Among them, Saturn had seemingly used a teleportation-like skill to escape the explosion, but the aftershock still injured him.
His once neat, noble, and opulent brocade clothes were now tattered.
Garling was in an even more miserable state, with multiple injuries from the blast, and was only able to keep fighting because he was running on fumes.
"This is the final act of the war!" Arashi grinned. He threw a punch, hitting Saturn on the nose, causing his nose to bleed profusely as he was sent flying with a grunt.
Immediately after, he kicked Garling in the abdomen, sending him flying as well. "The pampered nobles don't seem suited for this kind of savage, intense battle!" Arashi taunted.
But the next second, Shanks's longsword slashed his back, and blood burst forth. Spinning around fiercely, Arashi punched Shanks in the face. The immense power.
Instantly sent his body spinning nearly ten times in the air before he flew away. "It's still you two who are more aggressive!" Grinning, Arashi fixed his gaze on Mihawk.
The latter's pupils contracted. He held his sword with both hands and leaped forward to attack. Just as his opponent had said, this was now the end of the war.
The victor will be decided shortly! Arashi's praise did not make Mihawk happy; instead, it made him even more serious.
To be watched and regarded highly by the man before him, as an enemy, was not something to be happy about under any circumstances.
"VMMM!"
The void trembled.
The ground beneath Arashi's feet collapsed, and his massive body moved in an instant.
The longsword at his waist had been unsheathed again at some unknown point.
The blade was wreathed in black and red lightning, carrying an incomparably sharp aura as it rushed towards him. Without a doubt, the power Arashi displayed.
It was enough to make even a world-class powerhouse like Mihawk tremble.
He quickly held his sword with both hands and charged forward as well, delivering a slash.
But at that moment, Mihawk noticed the smile on his opponent's lips, and the figure of Arashi charging at him with a sword vanished in that instant.
"Not good!" His heart pounded.
He found it unbelievable that his opponent could shift again while in the middle of a full-power slash.
What was originally a frontal assault had instantly become an attack from his side, and this instantaneous change was something that even he could not adapt to; even his Observation Haki gave no warning.
"Has my Observation Haki been overwhelmed?" Mihawk thought grimly.
This was to be expected. His opponent had trained every type of Haki to the pinnacle of this world, to the limit, and had even broken past it.
"Scree~" The sharp whistle of a blade cutting through the air echoed in his ear.
This was a slash that would decide life and death! Arashi's longsword was heading straight for his neck.
"Danger!"
In the distance, Shanks, who had just climbed up from the ground, had his expression change drastically. The wind blew even harder, kicking up the dust on the ground.
Arashi's slash was like a bolt of lightning, approaching Mihawk's neck in the blink of an eye.
"The winner has been decided," Mihawk sighed, closing his eyes. Suddenly, he snapped his eyes open again and, as if by reflex, his entire body retreated rapidly.
"What happened?!" His eyes narrowed. Mihawk looked ahead at Arashi, who stood there holding his sword.
That slash had suddenly paused a centimeter from his neck. It was this momentary pause that allowed him to seize the chance to survive.
"We can't afford to lose any more members. Kaido's exit has already greatly reduced the chances of defeating him."
Saint Saturn let out a long breath, fine beads of sweat appearing on his forehead.
Saint Garling glanced at him, knowing in his heart that it was Saturn who had intervened and saved Mihawk at that moment.
A mysterious and unpredictable power could even restrict Arashi's movements? And yet, his opponent had not displayed this power before.
Marshall D. Teach had been the vanguard, and only now did he use it.
"The five old men, the most mysterious people in the world. I'm very curious, how much more power are you hiding?"
Arashi said with a smile, turning his head, seemingly unconcerned about being restricted just now.
"Perhaps, you will be able to see it in this battle," Saint Saturn said gravely. Shanks staggered over, rejoining the group, staring intently at Arashi.
Blood was flowing from his head, staining his cheek. Perhaps compared to ordinary powerhouses, his physical defense was already quite strong, but compared to Arashi, he was undoubtedly as fragile as glass.
"I look forward to it, and I have a premonition. The final protagonists of this war may be you and I," Arashi said with a slight smile.
Saint Saturn's eyes darkened, but he did not respond. As a great figure who had always hidden behind the scenes, he hated having everything about him dissected and displayed on stage.
If he could, he would much rather order others to solve all his problems, instead of stepping down himself to fight to the death with someone.
Then, Arashi's gaze swept over the group again. "Next, it's a war between us! So..."
Pausing for a moment, he gave a ferocious grin, a red light flashing in his eyes, looking utterly crazed.
"Are you all ready?"
A violent aura shot up into the sky, parting the dark clouds above. A great wind swept out, blowing at everyone's clothes.
At almost the exact moment, all of their expressions changed drastically.
Because the pair of giant black wings on Arashi's back flapped once, and his figure vanished in an instant, lunging toward them.
