The biting cold wind swept past them as Rosinante glanced worriedly at the child beside him.
Law's pale, sickly skin made him look as though he had blended into the surrounding snow, and his small, frail body seemed weak and powerless.
"Corazon… I… I don't think I can hold on much longer…"
A feeble voice reached his ears.
Just moments ago, the boy seemed a little more spirited, but now his body suddenly stiffened before collapsing into the snow, his face sinking into the icy ground.
"Hey, wake up!"
"Law!"
Rosinante's expression changed drastically as he hurriedly lifted the boy out of the snow and shook him awake.
"I'll get the fruit for you soon—just hold on a little longer, kid!"
Upon seeing the concern in Rosinante's gaze, Law struggled to open his eyes and forced out a weak, difficult smile.
"Trust me, Law!"
"You're going to survive!" Rosinante declared loudly before turning and dashing toward the town ahead.
"What's the point of me staying alive anyway…?" Law muttered.
"Shut up, kid!" Rosinante shouted. "You don't get to decide the meaning of your own life!"
Law gave a silent, bitter smile. His vision blurred, and exhaustion pulled at his consciousness.
He wanted to close his eyes and rest, but for some reason, he forced himself to stay awake despite the unsteady motion of being carried and the scenery flashing past him.
"Then… who decides it?"
That thought suddenly surfaced in his mind.
But a faint warmth filled his heart as he looked at the broad, strong back carrying him.
Corazon's back… it's so warm.
A short while later, they reached the town.
"Wait here, Law!"
"I'll bring back the Ope-Ope Fruit and cure you!"
Rosinante spoke with firm determination.
Law blinked hard and nodded. He didn't have the strength to say anything anymore.
"CALM!"
With a snap of Rosinante's fingers, all the sounds around them vanished instantly.
As he watched the man's figure disappear, Law pulled his coat tighter around himself. He stared at his own pale hands in silence.
At some point, the snowfall grew heavier. Even his thick coat couldn't keep the cold from seeping into his bones.
"So cold…"
Law murmured, his vision turning hazy as his consciousness wavered.
Through the storm, he faintly heard explosions from the town. Flames erupted, followed by shouts of anger and the sounds of pursuit.
Time seemed to slow down and speed up all at once.
Suddenly, a fierce gust of wind struck him.
Law's eyes snapped open, and he gasped in shock.
"Corazon!"
A towering figure stood before him, clad in a black feathered coat that billowed wildly in the frigid wind.
The man grinned at him before pulling a heart-shaped, red fruit from his coat.
"Kid, your illness can be cured now!"
Before Law could react, Rosinante shoved the fruit into his mouth.
"Eat it! Now!"
Law instinctively chewed, his face immediately twisting in disgust.
"Ugh! This tastes awful!"
The next moment, the tall figure before him suddenly collapsed with a heavy thud.
Law's expression changed instantly, horror overtaking his face.
"Corazon!!!"
-North Blue – Minion Island Shore-
A Marine warship was docked offshore, and a commanding officer was preparing to disembark when his Den Den Mushi suddenly rang. He answered it quickly.
"What?! Do you want me to retreat now after arriving at the destination? Is this some kind of joke?!"
Upon hearing the voice on the other end, his face darkened, and he roared in frustration.
But then, as the call continued, his expression changed dramatically.
"Impossible!"
"That man… he's in the North Blue?"
"And he's about to arrive at Minion Island?!"
The rage in his heart vanished almost instantly, replaced by shock and admiration.
Without hesitation, the call ended, and the warship immediately turned around, leaving the island behind.
Meanwhile, another Marine unit had already landed—but that was no longer their concern.
No matter how difficult the mission, if that man were coming here, the outcome would be satisfying.
-Ten Nautical Miles from Minion Island-
A Marine warship with a golden sceptre embedded in its bow cut through the waves.
A tall, powerful figure with arms crossed over his chest stood at its prow.
His imposing stance radiated authority, and behind him, a white coat with the word "Justice" billowed in the wind.
"Sir, we're about to reach Minion Island," Eveya reported with a smile.
Arashi nodded, his sharp eyes locked on the horizon as if he were merely watching the rolling waves.
But in reality, his magnetic wave had already spread across nearly a hundred kilometres, allowing him to see everything unfolding on Minion Island.
He saw the two figures—one tall, one small.
He saw the boy who had nearly given his life to snatch the Ope-Ope Fruit from pirates and force-fed it to Law.
He saw the furious pirates, the Marines hidden in the blizzard, and the Donquixote Family landing on the opposite shore.
He saw everything.
"Rosinante…So, you've forgotten everything I once told you."
Arashi shook his head slightly, his gaze turning icy. To think he nearly lost his life dealing with a mere group of pirates.
His strength hadn't improved over the years—in fact, it had weakened. In battle, he didn't even use Rokushiki.
Of course, it was understandable that he needed to conceal his Marine identity. But in Arashi's eyes, it was nothing short of foolish.
"Rosinante-nii? Our mission this time… is actually about him?"
Hearing Arashi's words, Smoker and Buggy exchanged surprised glances. A hint of excitement flickered in their expressions.
The three of them had been taught by each other multiple times in the past. Since they were of the same age, they got along fairly well.
To both of them, Rosinante, who had joined Arashi's ranks earlier, was undoubtedly a senior figure worthy of great respect.
"Hmph!"
A cold snort suddenly came from the front, making both shudder as confusion flashed in their eyes.
They could sense it—Arashi was furious—but they had no idea why and didn't dare to ask.
Time passed slowly as the Marine warship sailed forward, drawing closer and closer to Minion Island.
When they finally saw the Marine Rosinante had found, it was none other than Vergo—the Donquixote Family's infiltrator within the Marines.
At that moment, Arashi's expression darkened even further. Arms crossed, his right index finger tapped against his left forearm.
"Arashi-sama is angry!"
Smoker and Buggy exchanged glances, both becoming increasingly cautious.
As the warship finally reached Minion Island, a vast expanse of white threads suddenly rose from the front, rapidly weaving into the shape of a birdcage.
"What is that?"
"Is it a Devil Fruit ability?"
Smoker and Buggy gasped in shock.
Arashi's expression had turned ice-cold, and blue arcs of electricity flickered unconsciously around his body, making him look completely unapproachable.
Then, in the blink of an eye, he vanished. A piercing wind howled through the air, frigid and bone-chilling.
Rosinante leaned against a wooden crate, his cloak soaked in blood, his face covered in bruises.
"Hah…"
Panting, he looked at the figure before him.
"The Ope-Ope Fruit… where is it?"
Doflamingo's voice was low and cold. Staring at the only person in the world still tied to him by blood, his heart felt nothing but ice.
"I gave it to Law! I cured his Amber Lead Syndrome! Just moments ago, he already escaped!"
Rosinante grinned. Doflamingo was silent. His hands slowly clenched into fists—then, just as slowly, relaxed.
"You betrayed me…"
Leaning against the crate, Rosinante suddenly looked up at the sky, feeling the wind's chill, and smiled.
"Not really. You and I were never on the same path to begin with."
Doflamingo's anger deepened, yet he remained composed. His face was eerily calm, revealing no hint of his true emotions.
"The heavens are cruel, huh? Always forcing me to kill those closest to me…"
"Fufufufufu…"
Laughter echoed through the snowstorm. His pink feathered coat swayed as he suddenly raised his pistol, aiming it at the man before him.
"…Is this the end?"
Weak and powerless, Rosinante tilted his head back, gazing at the sky.
"What a shame…There's still an apology I never got to say."
Muttering to himself, he closed his eyes, waiting for his life to come to an end. Doflamingo's index finger rested on the trigger.
His sunglasses concealed his eyes, making it impossible to read his emotions. The cold wind howled, rustling his coat.
The Donquixote Family officers stood nearby, watching the scene unfold with tension and conflicted emotions.
Even now, some still struggled to believe that Corazon had been a traitor—a Marine spy infiltrating their family.
And yet, the truth lay bare before their eyes. Some even felt a tinge of sorrow for Doflamingo.
For an older brother to personally execute his own younger brother—he must be in unbearable pain, right?
"…Will he pull the trigger? Even if he's a traitor… that's still his brother…"
Countless thoughts raced through the officers' minds. Then, in the very next second—
A sudden, muffled gunshot rang out.
"Bang!"
Smoke rose from the barrel, quickly dispersing into the snowy air.
The officers' pupils contracted, their mouths slightly agape, shock and disbelief flashing in their eyes.
Did he just kill his own younger brother? Just then, a fierce gust of wind swept through, kicking up the snow and obscuring their vision.
Corazon's current condition was impossible to see.
"…Is he dead?"
Doubt surfaced in the hearts of the officers.
But none noticed the unusual weight in Doflamingo's gaze—or the trace of tension he had never shown before.
"Huff…"
As the snowstorm settled, a figure emerged amidst streaks of lightning, appearing in everyone's sight.
"Who is that?! Did they stop the Young Master's bullet?!"
"Corazon… he's still alive?!"
Shock and disbelief flashed in the eyes of the onlookers. The figure in the distance became increasingly clear.
A cold, imposing face swept across the scene with an unshakable presence.
"…You've disappointed me, Rosinante."
A deep voice echoed. The moment that voice rang out, everything—the wind, the snow, all movement—seemed to freeze.
Even Doflamingo's expression stiffened.
"Ar—"
"Arashi-sama!!"
Rosinante's eyes snapped open in astonishment as he cried out in shock.
