-Two Days Ago – The Holy Land Mary Geoise-
A raging inferno engulfed Mary Geoise, the world's highest sanctuary.
The air was filled with chaotic sounds—screams of terror, shouts of excitement, and angry curses—all clashing in a discordant symphony.
Amid the flames, a mysterious figure emerged, liberating thousands of slaves. His booming laughter echoed through the fire.
"This is a liberation of equality!" he declared. "How wonderful!"
"From this moment forward, you are no longer slaves. You belong only to yourselves. You are completely free!"
"Remember, all of us, no matter our race, no matter who we are compared to, are equals from this moment onward!"
The laughter reverberated across Mary Geoise, awakening countless confused slaves. Their trembling bodies began to light up with a glimmer of hope.
"A Fish-Man!" someone whispered. "He's a Fish-Man!"
Many couldn't believe it. A Fish Man had saved them!
"Fish-Man, human, Mink, dwarf, Longneck—whatever the race, I see you all as equals!" the towering Fish-Man proclaimed boldly.
"I've freed your bodies, but your minds—you must free them alone!"
Standing amidst the blazing fire, the Fish-Man let out another hearty laugh. "Freedom and equality are the ideals we should all pursue!"
His words stirred something within many of the humans present. Their eyes lit up, and their expressions grew fervent.
"Hey, Fish-Man saviour, what's your name?" someone shouted.
"Fisher Tiger!" he roared back.
Then, with another laugh, he added, "But don't remember my name."
"Instead, you should be grateful to a great man named Arashi! Without him, this earth-shattering liberation wouldn't have been possible!"
"Freedom and equality—these are the truths he taught me!" Fisher Tiger declared.
At that moment, he noticed the approaching guards. "Hahaha!" he laughed again. "Everyone, run now! Taste the flavour of freedom!"
With a final laugh, Fisher Tiger turned and ran. The newly freed slaves froze momentarily before realizing the situation and hastily followed his lead.
In the chaos, a figure among the crowd etched the image of the laughing man in the flames into their memory, along with the name Arashi.
"Fisher Tiger! Arashi! You are both my saviours!" said a green-haired man with a body full of scars as he sprinted frantically. "One day, I will repay this debt!"
Elsewhere...
"Bravo, Tiger," Arashi murmured as he set down the newspaper and looked out the window, a faint smile on his lips.
Although he wasn't present, the words in the article painted a vivid picture of Fisher Tiger's heroic actions.
Liberating slaves and breaking the chains of dark, outdated ideologies—such feats were undeniably the mark of a hero.
Fisher Tiger's courage earned Arashi's deep admiration. It was precisely why Arashi had saved him that day—to bring shockwaves and change to the world.
"Will you still die in the future?" Arashi whispered to himself, falling into silence.
The thought of such a hero dying was tragic, but no one could help Fisher Tiger overcome the hurdles within his own heart—it was something he had to face on his own.
Still, if he succeeded, he would undoubtedly achieve greatness.
"I hope my arrival and the words I shared with you that day will lead to a different ending," Arashi murmured. "After all, you are one of the seeds of change."
The room fell silent once more.
-The Year 1509 of the Sea Calendar-
Not much happened that year. After the grand slave liberation movement, the world government issued Fisher Tiger a bounty.
The incident, however, didn't implicate Arashi, who continued his quiet life at the Marine headquarters in the West Blue, burdened by his daily duties.
Soon after, Fisher Tiger established the Sun Pirates, earning worldwide fame.
His actions—spreading the ideals of freedom and equality—frightened certain factions of the World Government.
Fisher Tiger's actions were far more radical than Arashi's earlier declaration.
He raised the banner of the slave liberation movement, proclaimed equality and freedom to all, and even waged battles against noble forces on certain islands, liberating slaves and claiming victory.
For a time, Fisher Tiger became a hero of class struggle and a preacher of freedom and equality.
He awakened countless oppressed minds and earned immense respect and admiration.
His bounty skyrocketed from 230 million to 550 million berries, a sign that the World Government deemed his ideology far more dangerous than his strength.
-The Year 1510 of the Sea Calendar-
Arashi received good news that brought a rare smile to his face.
Vegapunk reported that the modifications to Kozuki Oden had been completed, and he had regained consciousness.
"Kozuki Oden!" Arashi chuckled. "That's a name I had on my list."
That very day, Arashi traveled to Skypiea. In mere seconds, he stood before Vegapunk.
Nearby, a tall man sat dazed on an experimental bed, staring at his reflection in the mirror with unfamiliar eyes.
"I am... Kozuki Oden?!"
The man muttered in a daze, "Amnesia?"
Arashi looked at him, puzzled.
He was equally baffled by the man sitting on the bed because, judging by his appearance, this person bore little resemblance to the Kozuki Oden he once knew.
The man now stood six meters tall, with a massive frame.
Flames danced behind his head, his white hair flowed over his shoulders, and his face, though chiselled and sharp, only vaguely resembled the Kozuki Oden of the past.
"No, he's not amnesiac. He's just angry about his new appearance," Vegapunk said with satisfaction.
Over the years, Vegapunk has been modifying Kozuki Oden's lineage factor.
The most direct change was the infusion of Lunarian DNA, as it was one of the rare samples he had in his possession.
As for Arashi's extraordinary immortal lineage, Vegapunk had yet to decipher it, leaving him utterly perplexed.
"I don't see him looking excited in the slightest," Arashi said, covering his forehead with his hand.
It was evident that the towering figure sitting at the edge of the bed was trembling.
His angular yet handsome face contorted into an expression of rage, and his entire demeanour edged closer to berserk.
"You!" Oden roared, his voice booming as he turned his furious gaze on them.
His burning anger radiated in waves, making the atmosphere feel suffocating. "What have you done to me?!"
The terrifying aura bore down on them. Vegapunk casually took cover behind PX-Golden Lion and Seraphim Zeus.
"All I did was modify you," Vegapunk explained nonchalantly. "Your original body was, in a sense, already dead."
He gestured to Oden's new form, nodding in satisfaction. "You are, by far, my greatest masterpiece."
"What did you say?" Oden bellowed as he leapt off the bed, flames bursting behind him. "You turned me into... a modified human?!"
"Of course!" Vegapunk replied. "You should be grateful I saved your life, even if it was partly luck and coincidence. The fact remains: you're alive now!"
Hearing this, Oden hesitated, recalling fragments of his last moments. Staring down at his current body, he clutched his head and let out a guttural cry.
"Ahhh! I look like this now—no one will recognize me!"
At this moment, Arashi chuckled and interjected, "Even if they recognize you, you won't get to see them anytime soon."
"Who are you?" Oden demanded, his eyes locking onto Arashi. His expression shifted again when he spotted the long sword at Arashi's waist. Shock spread across his face.
"That's Roger's sword! Why do you have it?"
Arashi smiled faintly. "You mean Ace? Roger entrusted it to me."
"That's impossible!" Oden exclaimed, his disbelief plain. Then, his brows furrowed. "What's happening in Wano now? How long have I been unconscious?"
Arashi answered with a calm smile, "Wano is under Kaido's control. As for you, you've been asleep for six years."
"Six years?!" Oden's voice trembled with shock.
"As the scientist said, your survival was a fortunate accident," Arashi continued. "But this is a new life for you."
"A new life?" Oden fell silent, remembering the betrayal by Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi that led to his death.
"In the eyes of the world, Kozuki Oden is dead," Arashi said softly. "This is your chance to start anew."
Lifting his head, Oden stared at his unfamiliar reflection in a nearby mirror. After a long silence, he let out a sigh.
"Indeed... it is a new life. The foolish Kozuki Oden is gone."
He turned to Arashi, his gaze steady. "To wield Roger's sword, he must have trusted you greatly. Tell me your name."
"Arashi," the man replied calmly.
"Arashi?" Oden's eyes widened. "The Marine who captured Roger?"
Oden's expression shifted as the realization dawned. He spoke again, his tone heavy, "What else have you done to this body of mine?"
Arashi's expression turned to question, but Vegapunk stepped forward, answering the question.
"To prevent any uncontrollable incidents in the future, I installed a failsafe in your modified body," Vegapunk said casually.
"Both Arashi and I have the authority to override your actions."
He paused, smiling faintly. "In a sense, you're no longer fully human. But you still possess all the functions of a human being. That's why you're my proudest creation."
Oden's face twitched as he struggled to suppress his indignation and fury.
Arashi, ever perceptive, noticed Oden's inner turmoil.
After all, the man had been betrayed, killed, and then revived under someone else's control. It was a bitter pill to swallow.
Clearing his throat, Arashi said, "Would you like to help us upend this world, Oden? Just as you once assisted Roger, now you can assist me."
A wave of overwhelming Conqueror's Haki surged as he spoke, pressing down on Oden.
Feeling the intensity of Arashi's aura, Oden's eyes narrowed in shock. "This... it's no weaker than Roger's!"
After a moment of silence, Oden sighed. "Do I even have the right to refuse?"
Arashi smiled faintly. "It seems you don't."
"Then... let's work together."
Seconds later, their hands clasped tightly, sealing their alliance. Arashi's smile widened, while Oden, though begrudging, wore a reluctant and resigned expression.
