Chapter 128: Chapter 128 : Nami, You Said You Can't Arm Color
Sanji and Zoro were at each other's throats again.
This pair of bickering rivals often squabbled over the smallest things, something the rest of the crew had grown accustomed to. But Nami was in a particularly foul mood and landed a solid punch on each of their heads.
Nami stared at her fist, muttering to herself, "I probably haven't awakened Armament Haki yet. I'm so weak after all."
Zoro rubbed the bump on his head and exclaimed, "Nami, you say you don't know Armament Haki? The power in that punch was definitely evidence of it awakening!"
"Really? Did I awaken Armament Haki?"
Nami stared blankly at her fist, a flicker of realization in her eyes.
As a user of Observation and Conqueror's Haki, Zoro's assessment carried weight. She must have truly awakened Armament Haki. What should she do? This happiness had come so suddenly, she wasn't sure how to process it.
Everyone else was equally surprised, their faces quickly shifting to expressions of envy.
"Devil Fruit changes destiny, Haki shapes life."
This motto was a classic among the Straw Hats, ingrained in their minds. Many had eaten Devil Fruits, indeed changing their fate from weakness, but true success in life was harder to grasp.
Haki was difficult to awaken!
Even Zoro, who had awakened his Haki after a life-or-death struggle, had become one of the Straw Hats' top three fighters. Looking at Sanji and Usopp, while strong in their own right, they lacked the extra edge Haki provided.
No one had expected Nami to become the Straw Hats' fourth Haki user.
Even Law felt a pang of envy.
He had awakened his Armament Haki after a grueling battle with Vergo, but Nami had seemingly done so in a fit of rage, and with such ease.
Nami, still a little flustered, turned her gaze to the larger members like Usopp and Chopper, a look of distaste crossing her face.
"Mari, leave these idiots to run until they lose weight!"
"Understood."
Mari dipped a crayon into her palette and swiftly drew a pattern.
Pa pa pa pa pa pa pa!
Jango, Usopp, Chopper, Little 3, Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin were instantly marked with red patterns and began running uncontrollably.
"Mix Colors! Bullfighting Red!"
This bullfighting red paint on the ground was different from painting on people. Painting on the ground would make people subconsciously attack the patterns, but painting on people made them run like bulls.
As long as the paint didn't wear off, these heavy crewmates would undoubtedly run themselves to exhaustion.
"Hahaha! Mari is amazing!" Luffy praised without hesitation.
"Of course, Mari is my excellent assistant. If anyone is disobedient in the future, I'll ask Mari to take good care of them!" Nami said, pulling Mari into a hug.
Mari continued to eat her biscuits expressionlessly, with the unhurried air of an old woman.
Law couldn't help but feel envious. Jango and Mari of the Straw Hats were two people he greatly admired. Such unique abilities could play a significant role in his strategic calculations.
Unfortunately, it was unlikely these two would ever join his Heart Pirates.
After an indeterminate amount of time, Usopp and the others finally lost weight after their frantic running.
The food on this island seemed highly unusual.
It could instantly replenish massive amounts of calories, causing those who ate it to gain weight rapidly, but with exercise, those calories could be burned just as quickly, leading to rapid weight loss.
However, while Usopp and the others had shed the extra pounds, they were utterly exhausted.
If it weren't for someone wiping off the paint, they likely would have run themselves to death.
"Alright, let's head back to the ship. Rayleigh is waiting for us!" Luffy announced, then turned to Hercules. "Hercules, the warrior of the forest, want to hang out on my ship?"
Hercules' face lit up with joy. "Well, if a friend invites me, naturally I won't refuse. Also, I am the warrior of the forest, Hercules..."
"Okay, okay, I'm tired of hearing that sentence!"
Luffy's words immediately made Hercules freeze, and the atmosphere became slightly awkward.
The next task was naturally to leave the island.
At this point, Luffy remembered Rayleigh's purpose for this training. So, as they made their way off the island, he mostly stayed out of the fighting, not even letting Law and Zoro participate, and only allowing the other crew members to battle hard.
As for Rayleigh, he was already lying leisurely on a recliner.
Not far away, Sanji, wearing a Sea Stone collar, was diligently performing basic exercises.
This was Rayleigh's training regimen for Sanji.
After Sanji ate his Devil Fruit, his physical body was already exceptionally strong, so the same training as others wasn't necessary.
Instead, Rayleigh was trying to make Sanji adapt to the Sea Stone's power, pushing him until he could exert a certain amount of strength even while wearing the ten-walk pure Sea Stone collar.
As for Haki, Rayleigh couldn't force its awakening.
Haki itself was like a wild beast, not as intelligent as a human, so comprehension would be incredibly slow. Awakening Haki would depend solely on luck.
But even without awakened Haki, Sanji was already very powerful.
"Sanji, you need to work hard. Zoro is competing with you for the position of the Straw Hats' third strongest. You don't want your ranking to drop, do you?"
Rayleigh casually offered words of encouragement while remaining comfortably reclined.
Sanji had no choice. The competition within the Straw Hats was fierce, and after this training, their combat power would be re-evaluated. He didn't want to be outdone by anyone. The third strongest of the Straw Hats had to be his!
Suddenly, Rayleigh sat up straight, looking towards the second floor of the cabin.
Seeing the familiar figure, Rayleigh breathed a sigh of relief. He had wondered who was arriving, but it turned out to be him.
The man on the second floor of the cabin was very tall, wearing a Madara bear hat, long black curly hair, a black jacket and white and black Madara pants, and holding a thick book in his arms.
The most noticeable feature was his pair of large, gloved hands!
"Shichibukai, Bartholomew Kuma. Dragon asked you to come?" Rayleigh greeted with a smile.
That's right, this person was the famous Tyrant Kuma, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit user with the Paw-Paw Fruit!
When they were about to arrive at the Boin Archipelago, Rayleigh had specifically contacted Dragon and asked him to investigate the name of the mysterious Devil Fruit. Unexpectedly, Kuma had arrived just after they reached the islands.
Thinking carefully, only Kuma possessed this kind of teleportation ability!
"You don't seem surprised by my appearance, you look rather calm."
Kuma didn't know much about Rayleigh, only what he had heard from Dragon and the Revolutionary Army staff, or read in newspapers. He hadn't expected him to be so young and seemingly knowledgeable.
For example, that he was connected to the Revolutionary Army!
Rayleigh chuckled. "I'm familiar with Dragon, so it's not surprising that I know some things. Let's skip the small talk and take a look at this Devil Fruit."
Then, he took out the unknown Devil Fruit.
