One Piece: Burning the Sun God to Ash

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: The Hunt for Kaido

They transformed into four-meter-tall lava giants, charging toward the rampaging pirates.

Sakazuki, too, selected powerful pirate presences to hunt. As for why Sakazuki had appeared here alone...

A few minutes earlier—

Just as the outline of God Valley became faintly visible ahead—

On the Navy fleet rushing to gather, the many officers aboard could already feel the intensity of the battle raging on the island. It wasn't just the Conqueror's Haki rampaging all the way out here—

Even the sky above God Valley looked as if it had been sliced apart by countless blades.

Sakazuki stood on the deck of his warship, frowning slightly.

There were many Marine soldiers from the four seas' branches on that island. In a battle like this...

These pirates—coming from the New World—were simply too powerful in comparison.

With that thought, Sakazuki exchanged a brief word with Vice Admiral Morris.

Then he ordered the warship to rush to the front, standing at the prow of the deck.

Both arms transformed, molten lava flowing endlessly from them. As the island came into visible range—

"Meteor Volcano!"

Gathering his power, he raised both arms—his fists launching like rocket artillery.

Countless lava fists, each the size of a real fist, shot diagonally into the sky at an incredible speed.

No one knew how many he launched. Only when Sakazuki began to feel a trace of fatigue—

He suddenly transformed into a pool of magma.

Boom!

With a massive crash, Sakazuki erupted upward like a giant lava fist himself.

Meanwhile, the officers on surrounding warships were all stunned.

They didn't know why Sakazuki had launched so many lava fists into the sky—

But the sight alone was overwhelmingly impressive.

When Sakazuki finally landed, he had already crossed the sea and smashed down into the outer battlefield of God Valley.

Sweeping the area with Observation Haki, he clearly sensed that the casualties among the Marine soldiers were already beyond estimation.

"Too late, huh..."

"Filthy sea scum."

"Death Burial Array!!!!"

This technique was inspired by Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni from Bleach.

Lava solidifies more easily than fire. One after another, towering lava giants rose from the ground, charging straight toward the pirates.

These magma giants had no intelligence.

Only a mindless, relentless momentum. Ordinary pirates were already scared out of their wits at the sight of them.

Only the elite pirates and captains who could use Haki managed to recover from the initial panic and began to fight back—smashing one lava giant after another.

"Damn it! Bastard Marines!"

"Thunder Bagua!"

A young Kaido swung his spiked kanabo, smashing a lava giant in a single blow.

Kaido was still just a trainee crew member at this point—he wasn't qualified to follow Rocks and the others into the heart of God Valley.

He could only fight with the main pirate forces on the outer edge, thoroughly enjoying the bloodshed.

He never expected the tide to suddenly turn—an endless rain of lava pouring down from the sky.

Boom!

On the other side, in order to eliminate the pirates' escape routes, Sakazuki was destroying pirate ships one after another.

Suddenly, he heard the name of a technique buried deep in his memory.

That move!!!

He whipped his head around, Observation Haki exploding.

In an instant, he locked onto Kaido. A flash of ruthless intent crossed his eyes as he charged toward him.

Boom!

Kaido had just smashed another lava giant and hadn't even caught his breath—

When every hair on his body stood on end, his heart racing—a sudden, overwhelming sense of danger gripped his entire body.

"What?!"

"Dog Biting Crimson Lotus."

Kaido couldn't react in time. By the time he realized it, Sakazuki had already appeared right in front of him.

His right arm transformed into a massive lava hound, biting hard into Kaido's neck—

Slamming him forcefully into the ground.

This triggered Kaido's beastly fury. His right hand gripped his kanabo, now wrapped in Armament Haki.

He swung it fiercely at Sakazuki, roaring:

"Thunder Bagua!"

Sakazuki's left hand instantly turned black, also coated in Armament Haki.

Boom!

The clash of metal echoed.

He blocked Kaido's kanabo—then drove his right arm down with even greater force, trying to end it in one blow.

Kaido, unable to break through, was pushed into a desperate frenzy between life and death.

Lying on the ground, he twisted and flung himself wildly.

At last, he managed to throw Sakazuki off of him.

Then he used both hands, coated in Armament Haki, to claw frantically at the lava on his neck.

"Cough, cough… damn Marines…"

"Name yourself!"

What greeted him was a furious wave of lava, pressing down like a mountain.

"Great Eruption!"

Boom!

Staring at Sakazuki, who seemed determined to fight to the death—

Kaido's face darkened, but his mind was spinning wildly, searching for a way to escape.

Yes, escape.

There was no way he could win. Though Kaido appeared rough and wild, he was actually quite cunning.

A blast from his club shot toward Sakazuki—then he turned and bolted.

Charging deeper into God Valley.

Sakazuki shattered the blast with a punch, watching Kaido flee toward the island's interior.

He paused briefly—worried about the soldiers still engaged in battle.

Then he turned, plunged both hands into the ground, and aimed toward the direction of the remaining pirates.

"Magma Burial!"

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

The ground cracked open—lava erupted like waves, surging in the direction of the pirates.

Then Sakazuki pursued Kaido, charging toward the part of the battlefield that had torn the sky asunder.

...

Elsewhere—

As the Oro Jackson docked at the rear of God Valley—

A group of people disembarked, running excitedly toward the obvious palace ruins, plundering treasure.

Meanwhile, Roger and several of his core members disembarked and made their way toward the battlefield.
