Chapter 97: Chapter 97: The Destination!
Chapter 97: The Destination!
One afternoon three days later, Buggy brought Hancock to the Kuja palace.
"Brother Buggy, are we preparing to set off?" Seeing Buggy and Hancock arrive, Marigold asked with some excitement.
"Yes. Prepare a stone slab that can fit a few people. We're leaving now," Buggy nodded and replied.
"Brother Buggy, we're not using a ship. Does that mean the distance isn't very far?" Hancock seemed to have thought of something and then asked.
"Yes, it's really not that far. And we need to be stealthy; a ship is too big a target," Buggy nodded and said.
"Can you tell us the destination now?" More than the distance, Sandersonia wanted to know where exactly the destination was.
After all, if Buggy needed to use the two sisters' abilities, it proved that the destination was definitely not simple. And a place that was only a few hours' flight from Kuja and required stealth—counting them up, there were only three or four. The first was Marine Headquarters, Marineford; the second was the judicial island, Enies Lobby; the third was the great underwater prison, Impel Down; and the last was the Holy Land, Mary Geoise.
The reason Buggy said it was dangerous was probably because they had to infiltrate an enemy's lair.
"Sandersonia, haven't you already guessed? Do you still need me to say it out loud?" Looking at Sandersonia, Buggy was very confident in the intelligence of Hancock's younger sister.
"Is it really that place? Brother Buggy, do you have a complete plan? You know that place isn't somewhere you can just enter and exit freely," Hancock had also guessed where Buggy was about to go.
"You guys, have you forgotten my ability? There's no need to worry. Although I hope no accidents happen, even if something does, can that place trap me? Not to mention I'll have your help." Buggy truly wasn't worried.
Hearing Buggy's words, Marigold had a bewildered look on her face, completely failing to understand what her two older sisters and Brother Buggy were talking about.
"Brother Buggy, where exactly is the destination you're talking about?" Marigold asked curiously.
"Of course, it's the great underwater prison, Impel Down. There are only four dangerous places I can fly to before it gets dark: Marine Headquarters, Marineford; the great underwater prison, Impel Down; the judicial island, Enies Lobby; and the Holy Land, Mary Geoise. And among these four places, besides Impel Down, where else would Brother Buggy have someone he needs to see? You know, in the other three places, there's basically no one who has anything in common with pirates," Sandersonia explained, somewhat exasperated.
"Ah! We're going to invade the great underwater prison, Impel Down?! Brother Buggy, you're not joking, are you?" Marigold was startled by Buggy's destination.
"That's right. But don't worry too much. I still know some things about the internal situation of Impel Down. As long as we have your invisibility ability, no one should be able to discover us." With information about Push-Forward City [Impel Down] in his mind, Buggy believed that as long as he had Marigold's invisibility ability to hide them, entering and exiting Impel Down wouldn't be too difficult.
"Oh, if Brother Buggy says so, then let's set off," nodding, Marigold still trusted Buggy very much.
Seeing that even Marigold had nodded, Sandersonia, who knew she was only responsible for providing transport, had no reason to object.
Directly creating a stone block that could fit about ten people, the three of them flew directly towards Impel Down.
Three hours later, as night began to gradually fall, Sandersonia brought Buggy, Hancock, and Marigold directly above the great underwater prison, Impel Down.
Originally, Buggy hadn't planned to let Hancock come along, but thinking that if an accident really did happen, her ability might be needed, Buggy didn't insist.
Looking at the faintly lit Impel Down below, Buggy didn't directly pull Marigold to sneak in. Instead, he had Marigold maintain the invisibility of all four of them, waiting for the night to fall completely.
After another half an hour, when night had completely fallen, Buggy had Sandersonia descend from the high altitude, and then found a dark corner that the lights couldn't reach.
Walking to the very edge, Buggy extended his hand, imbued it with his ability, and then grabbed onto a section of Impel Down's outer wall.
Soon, the stone blocks of the wall that Buggy had grabbed turned to dust and blew away with the wind. After the passage was created, Buggy then had Marigold deactivate her invisibility.
"Marigold, are you ready? We're about to set off," Buggy asked Marigold.
"Ready, Brother Buggy. Grab my hand, let's go in." After speaking, the two of them directly turned and entered the fortress wall.
As for Hancock and Sandersonia, who were left behind to stand guard, they once again carefully ascended back into the high sky, waiting for Buggy's return.
After drilling through the fortress wall, Buggy and Marigold entered the interior of the great underwater prison, Impel Down. However, the place they arrived at was the very top of Impel Down, the area where the guards lived, worked, and relaxed. Below this top level was the first floor of the prison, the Crimson Lotus Hell.
Of course, Buggy couldn't possibly take Marigold into the first level.
For Buggy, going down level by level was too time-consuming and also prone to exposure. One must know that in Impel Down, although Marigold's invisibility could fool the Surveillance Den Den Mushi, their scent could not fool the numerous non-human guards. Not to mention distant levels, it was absolutely impossible to pass quietly through the second level, the Wild Beast Hell.
It was precisely because of this that Buggy led Marigold towards the giant elevator.
However, the giant elevator was not so easy to approach either. If nothing else, Buggy didn't dare to casually destroy the iron gate at the entrance of the giant elevator before reaching his goal, let alone deal with the guards.
If it were anyone else, they would probably be out of options. But Buggy's Chop-Chop ability was special enough, which gave him a chance.
After leading Marigold around the top level for a good while, Buggy finally arrived near the giant elevator. Looking at the surrounding environment, Buggy led Marigold to a corner that was closest to the elevator but also unnoticed by anyone.
He directly used his ability to create a passage leading to the area beneath the elevator. Then, Buggy slowly pushed the already separated block of stone forward, extending it towards the space below the elevator.
