Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Guidance!
Chapter 85: Guidance!
"Lord... Lord Red Nose, please... please forgive this child! He didn't mean to offend you." It was clear that some villagers had already recognized Buggy.
These villagers never expected that Usopp would actually be right today. A real pirate had come, and it was the legendary figure from the newspapers.
Thinking of the three kingdoms that were annihilated in the North Blue, the faces of these villagers turned pale, and their legs couldn't help but tremble.
It was only at this moment that Usopp came back to his senses. His mouth fell open as he looked at Buggy, and then he let out a loud cry as a warm stream suddenly soaked the crotch of his pants.
"Little fellow, if your dad Yasopp saw you like this, he'd probably spank your butt into four pieces," Buggy said with a smile, shaking his head.
"Uncle Red Nose, you know my dad?" Hearing this, Usopp's already wide-open mouth grew even wider. After managing to close it, he asked, trembling.
"The number one sniper of the Red Hair Pirates. Although I haven't met him yet, that doesn't stop me from knowing of him. After all, he is one of the great pirate Red-Haired Shanks's top commanders."
Receiving Buggy's answer, Usopp forgot all about his wet pants. He immediately stood up, ran to Buggy's side, and asked excitedly, "Really? Uncle, is what you're saying true?"
"I don't want to talk to a guy who's wet his pants. Go home, change your pants, and then come back. Is there a place to eat in the village? Take me there. I need to get some food." The first half of Buggy's sentence was directed at Usopp; the second half was directed at the villagers who were frozen in place.
Soon, Buggy was led to the only restaurant in the village.
He sat down, and by the time the food was served and Buggy had started eating, Usopp had already changed his pants and run back.
"Uncle Red Nose, can you tell me about my dad?" Usopp sat down directly opposite Buggy and asked.
"Sorry about that, but I don't think I can tell you much more. You'll have to go out to sea yourself to find the answers. All I can tell you is that if you want to see your dad, you'll have to go to the second half of the Grand Line. But definitely don't set out alone. You're too weak. If you go alone, you might die before you even enter the Grand Line," Buggy said while eating unhurriedly.
"Then, Uncle Buggy, can you take me with you?" Usopp asked cautiously.
"Don't even think about it. My ship doesn't take in weaklings. This is a world of the strong. You can only rely on yourself for everything. If you ask others for help, you have to pay a price. You can't offer a price that would move me, so don't bring up this topic again." Buggy shook his head and refused directly.
Being rejected so bluntly, Usopp's head immediately drooped.
"Do you want to get stronger?" After a few bites of food, Buggy suddenly asked Usopp.
"Yes! Uncle, are you willing to teach me?" Usopp was instantly revived.
"Impossible. All I can do is leave you with a basic training method. As long as you master it, you will get stronger sooner or later. If you want to get stronger, then listen carefully. I'm only saying this once."
At this point, Buggy shared some of his own training insights, including daily long-distance running, cliff-climbing exercises specifically for Usopp's arm strength, evasion training, and so on.
As long as Usopp followed Buggy's training, it wasn't certain that he would awaken Haki early, but he would at least be much stronger than he was in the original story when he first set out.
After speaking, Buggy ate the last piece of food, paid the bill, and then strolled leisurely out of the village. Then, before the shocked eyes of Usopp and some villagers, he walked on air and disappeared into the distant sky.
Leaving Syrup Village, Buggy's second stop was Shimotsuki Village in the East Blue. As soon as he arrived at the entrance of the dojo run by Koushirou, Buggy already felt a bit excited. That's right, more so than Monkey D. Luffy and Portgas D. Ace, whom he hadn't met yet, the Roronoa Zoro he was about to see was Buggy's favorite character in the anime.
It was already evening. Buggy originally thought there would be almost no one there, but he didn't expect that as soon as he walked into the dojo, he would see a green-haired boy of average height sparring with a spectacled adult using three bamboo swords.
This was the young Zoro. Although his skills were very poor, the spirit with which he fought was ferocious.
The spar itself wasn't particularly noteworthy, but Buggy watched with great interest. Soon, the match ended with Zoro's defeat.
It was only at this moment that the two in the dojo noticed Buggy's presence.
"You are..." Just as he said two words, Koushirou's expression changed drastically as he thought of something, and he couldn't even finish his sentence.
"Teacher, who is this guy? Why does he look a bit familiar?" Zoro asked, being quite thick-headed.
"Please don't mind him, he's just a child and doesn't know any better. May I ask what business Lord Red Nose has here?" Koushirou said very humbly, inconspicuously blocking Zoro.
"Outsiders only know that I'm protective of my own, but they don't know that I'm actually very magnanimous. If I got angry over such a small thing, I'd probably have died of anger by now. Relax, I was just passing by this place and was attracted by your fight while taking a short rest. But the kid behind you is quite interesting. Kid, tell me your name."
Faced with Buggy's question, Zoro was not afraid.
"My name is Roronoa Zoro, and my dream is to become the world's strongest swordsman."
"The strongest swordsman, eh? Hahahaha, I believe that guy Mihawk would definitely be very interested in you. But kid, you're still a long way from that. Do you know what the three disgraces of a swordsman are?"
Obviously, this question stumped Zoro, because at this moment, the kid was just looking at Koushirou with his eyes, hoping his teacher could provide an answer.
Unfortunately, Koushirou was in no better state, just shaking his head at Zoro.
"I don't know. Can you tell me?" Zoro immediately asked.
"One is fearing a duel in battle. Another is receiving a wound on the back. The last one is having your weapon damaged, just like the bamboo swords you're holding," Buggy said, pointing to the three bamboo swords tucked at Zoro's waist.
"What's the point of being a swordsman if you fear a duel in battle? And getting injured on the back is indeed a failure. But how can a weapon not be damaged?" Although he was only 14, Zoro could already think about many things.
"Give me one of your bamboo swords, and then you get a real sword." Indicating that more talk was useless, Buggy directly made his request.
Originally, Zoro was quite reluctant, but Koushirou sensitively realized that Buggy seemed to have the intention of guiding Zoro. Guidance from a world-class powerhouse like this was something money couldn't buy. So he quickly had Zoro pull out a bamboo sword for Buggy, and then had Zoro get the Wado Ichimonji.
