One Piece: Alucard the Immortal

Chapter 15: Blacklight Virus Experiment

The Blacklight Virus can actually form a viral web from the user's hand.

When solidified, it resembles congealed scarlet wax.

When controlled, it can infect others.

The substance currently plugging the ship's hole is the result of infected corpses, from Alucard's previous Blacklight Virus battle, solidifying their blood after lying there for too long.

The Blacklight Virus isn't as contagious as the Vampire Virus. Once infected by the Vampire Virus, an individual can turn into a ghoul, while virgins can become vampires, though this requires Alucard's direct blood.

Ghouls can turn enemies into new ghouls with a single bite, leading to unlimited, unchecked proliferation. If not stopped promptly, it would undoubtedly create a bio-army.

However, vampire blood can only be used on humans.

The Blacklight Virus, on the other hand, is less contagious than vampire blood. Specifically, infection with the Blacklight Virus carries an extremely high mortality rate.

However, those who survive the Blacklight Virus infection can gain significantly greater power, far surpassing ghouls.

The power of the Blacklight Virus isn't limited to humans, animals, or birds. Infected individuals can even evolve by devouring other organisms.

In truth, saying the Blacklight Virus isn't very contagious isn't entirely accurate. It's more precise to say that those infected by the Vampire Virus are guaranteed to become ghouls, while those infected by the Blacklight Virus are far more likely to die than to transform into horrifying, alien monsters.

So far, only pirates have been infected with the Blacklight Virus, and all have died.

Alucard suddenly had a thought: this is the world of One Piece, and Sea Kings are the apex predators of the animal kingdom. What would happen if the Blacklight Virus were introduced into a Sea King? Would it die on the spot? Or would it transform into a new type of alien monster?

The thought sparked Alucard's interest. It was his style to immediately act and experiment whenever an intriguing idea struck him.

Alucard left the helm and walked to the bow. Using the Blacklight Virus, he formed a small bladed hand and sliced open the palm of his other hand. Immediately, blood began to flow into the sea.

Some Sea Kings are attracted to blood, a trait shared with many animals, though there are also a significant number of exceptions.

About five minutes later, Alucard saw numerous triangular fins rapidly moving on the sea surface around the ship.

Sharks.

"What, no Sea Kings, just you pathetic things?" Alucard was somewhat disappointed. While sharks were indeed fierce animals in his original world, here, they were merely at the bottom of the food chain, prey for Sea Kings.

Alucard had no interest in experimenting on such weaklings.

"But since you've delivered yourselves, you'll make good bait."

He pulled out his white Casull and fired a volley into the sea below.

The exaggerated splashes might make an unknowing observer think it was cannon fire.

Soon, shark blood dyed that section of the sea crimson.

Alucard returned to a lounge chair on the deck, pulled out a bottle of red wine from his Hidden Shadow, poured it into a nearby wine glass, and began to slowly savor it.

About twenty minutes later, Alucard's Thermal Vision finally detected a large creature rushing towards him.

From the Thermal Vision, its size was roughly equivalent to a skyscraper. Such an exaggerated size in a single sea region was enough to qualify it as a lord-level Sea King.

It seemed his luck was good; it hadn't been long before such an excellent experimental subject presented itself.

Finally, when it was about two hundred meters from Alucard's ship, a dark shadow burst from beneath the waves.

Giant waves surged across the nearby sea.

It was an enormous, red-eyed, long fish with a blue body, white belly, and a silvery-white sword-like snout.

This truly was the world of One Piece, where anything was possible, including such bizarre creatures. But only they might be able to withstand the power of the Blacklight Virus.

"Alright, come at me with that sword on your mouth, experiment subject!" Alucard roared. The giant marlin seemed to sense Alucard's provocation and rushed forward at an incredible speed.

Many animals in this world were freaks, and this giant marlin was an example. It wasn't just a fish; it was a water cheetah!

"Come!"

Alucard leaped into the air, dodging the attack from the marlin's sword-like snout. He formed his right hand into a blade and plunged it into the marlin's side, carving a massive wound over ten meters long on its body.

He injected the Blacklight Virus into the marlin's body, ensuring it wasn't a fatal blow.

Alucard wanted to observe closely how such a high-level monster could withstand the Blacklight Virus's consumption.

The Blacklight Virus isn't highly contagious, but once it enters a body, its spread is no joke.

After activating his Thermal Vision, Alucard could discern the marlin's physical condition even submerged in the water.

Starting from the wound, the Blacklight Virus was rapidly spreading.

The giant marlin thrashed violently in the ocean due to the intense pain caused by the Blacklight Virus within its body, creating waves.

The instant it burst from the sea, Alucard saw them: red, lava-like fissure patterns spreading out from the wound. That was undeniable proof of Blacklight Virus infection!

So, had it succeeded?

P.S.: For the settings, the Blacklight Virus's theme is [Devour], while the Vampire theme is [Undying]. I hope everyone enjoys it.
