Chapter 67: 67: Where is Luffy?
He was a man of action.
In fact, he desperately wanted to go there himself and capture them. He wanted to make an example of those survivors, wipe them all out. But his position didn't allow it.
Akainu could only sigh alone in his office.
At the Sabaody Archipelago:
The Straw Hat crew had gathered aboard the Thousand Sunny.
Nami, Nico Robin, Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, Chopper, Franky, and Brook were all present.
But one person was notably absent.
Monkey D. Luffy, their captain.
"Huh?"
Zoro was the first to speak.
"Where's Luffy?"
"How are we supposed to leave without him?"
"After all, he's the captain."
At this point, Sanji scoffed.
"Same old, same old."
"Always late."
"Such a pain."
Nami smiled, brushing off the comment.
"It's fine. Luffy always keeps his promises."
"He'll be here soon. I trust him."
Nico Robin nodded in agreement.
Sanji wasn't happy.
"What's with that?" he grumbled.
"Everyone trusts him, huh?"
"Luffy may be a bit foolish, but he never backs out of a promise."
"I just don't get why he's always late. Seriously."
"He's the captain, for crying out loud."
Suddenly, Sanji sensed something wasn't right.
It was Zoro.
Zoro had raised his sword!
Without warning, he swung the scabbard toward Sanji.
"Damn it!"
Sanji jumped back just in time, barely avoiding a blow to his head.
Zoro snorted.
"Hmph. It's been two years."
"Curly Brow, you've turned into quite the chatterbox."
"I just wanted to see if I could restore things to the way they were."
Sanji's anger flared.
He was ready to retaliate.
"Boom!"
The sound of cannons rang out in the distance.
The Marines were here!
"Damn it!"
"Can't these Marines ever take a break?"
"Let's settle this between the two of us first!"
Sanji proposed.
Zoro nodded without hesitation.
"Of course."
"I won't lose to you."
"Hey!"
Both men launched themselves forward like bullets.
Zoro's blades slashed through the air like a tornado, swiftly cutting down the Marines in his path.
"Hmph!"
"Just a bunch of soldiers."
"You think we're the same as we were two years ago?"
"It's impossible to defeat us now."
Zoro mocked, his swords flashing.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Sanji was already kicking into action, his legs like engines as they sent Marines flying with each powerful strike.
In the blink of an eye, dozens of soldiers were sent crashing to the ground.
"Die, all of you!"
Sanji's fury burned as he stomped and kicked his way through the Marine ranks.
The Marines screamed, realizing the overwhelming strength the two of them now possessed.
One of the soldiers muttered,
"What's up with these two?"
"They feel way stronger than before!"
Another soldier agreed,
"Yeah! They were never this terrifying two years ago…"
"They're like monsters now!"
One of the soldiers nodded in realization,
"No wonder the Marines wanted to wipe out the Straw Hat crew back then…"
"They're all freaks."
"They'll be a threat from now on!"
At that moment, a few officers arrived on the scene.
"No one gets away!"
One officer, his face cold and menacing, shouted. He was a Devil Fruit user.
With a wave of his hand, he activated his powers.
"Hm?"
Zoro was briefly caught off guard, but then he sneered in disdain.
"Well then…"
"Three-Sword Style!"
Zoro immediately drew all three swords, his blade spinning faster than ever as he charged toward the officer.
Zoro roared in fury and immediately began to unleash a flurry of deadly blade strikes. With a single move, he finished off his opponent in an instant.
"What?"
"Instantly killed!"
The onlookers were stunned. The officer had been slain before they even realized what happened.
Sanji, noticing the situation, scoffed.
He immediately turned his attention to another officer.
"Barbecue!"
Sanji used his special technique, delivering a powerful kick that ignited the target with flames.
"Boom!"
With a loud explosion, the officer was knocked out cold, completely losing consciousness.
"Franky!"
Zoro shouted.
"Is the ship ready?"
Franky called back,
"All done! We can leave anytime!"
"Then where's Luffy?"
As everyone hurried to look for their captain, Luffy's figure was still nowhere to be found.
"Damn it!"
"Luffy!"
"What's he doing?!"
Zoro's anger was mounting.
But there was nothing they could do. Their captain had to be there for them to leave. Without him, they couldn't go anywhere.
At that moment,
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
More Marine reinforcements arrived from the distance.
"Damn it!"
Sanji was getting anxious.
If they didn't leave soon, they'd be trapped here.
Their strength had grown significantly since two years ago, but this was still near the Marine Headquarters.
No matter how strong they were, they couldn't keep fighting indefinitely.
They would eventually be overwhelmed.
"A rear admiral is coming."
Sanji sensed the danger.
He said,
"Let's hold on for a few more minutes."
"Luffy will definitely make it here."
Sanji leaped into the air, his legs pushing off the void as he aimed to intercept the Marines threatening his crew.
Using the Six Powers, Sanji took down the incoming Marines with precision.
The others nodded, impressed by Sanji's improvement.
"You really lived up to the hype, Sanji!"
"Leave it to you!"
"I'm going to help out too."
Chopper spoke up, his eyes set in determination.
He had to buy them some time.
"Roar!"
Chopper immediately transformed into his monster form.
Unlike two years ago, when he would've lost control, Chopper remained calm and conscious in his beast form now.
"Wow!"
Usopp stared in awe.
"That's so cool!"
But now wasn't the time for awe.
Usopp immediately sprang into action.
Using his special technique, Green Star, Usopp summoned a massive plant that quickly covered a group of Marines.
"What?"
The Marines were terrified.
They marveled at the Straw Hat crew's newfound strength.
"Three-Sword Style!"
Zoro continued to slash through the incoming Marines.
But more were arriving, and this was starting to feel like a losing battle.
Suddenly,
Zoro felt a sharp surge of danger in his mind.
"What?"
"This feeling... it's so familiar."
"It's like suffocating!"
Zoro quickly looked up and saw a figure approaching in the distance.
It was Admiral Kizaru!
"Damn it."
"This guy again."
Cold sweat poured down Zoro's back as he remembered their encounter two years ago.
Kizaru had almost killed him back then, using his power to toy with him.
"We need to leave now!"
Zoro quickly formulated a plan, realizing they could discuss Luffy's situation later.
If they didn't leave, they'd be done for.
That was something they could never allow.
"Sanji!"
"Chopper!"
"Usopp!"
"Get out of here!"
Zoro yelled at the others.
As he shouted, he suddenly sensed another wave of pressure closing in on him.
"Huh?"
Zoro turned and saw a tall figure flashing behind him.
The oppressive aura was all too familiar—he knew who it was.
He couldn't react in time.
His only option was to fight with all his might.
"Three-Sword Style!"
Zoro desperately swung his swords in a wild frenzy, spinning them faster than ever.
"This is terrifying."
"Zoro."
"But too bad…"
Kizaru spoke slowly, his voice dripping with arrogance.
"Your timing isn't quite there yet."
He raised his hand, a laser charge gathering at his fingertips.
"Is that so?"
"Admiral Kizaru…"
Zoro grinned despite the pressure.
"You don't realize… the saying, 'The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.'"
At that moment, a voice rang out.
Kizaru froze in shock.
"What?"
Kizaru quickly turned around and fired a laser at full force.
"Boom!"
Two explosions rang out in quick succession.
Kizaru was knocked back, while another figure seemed to retreat as well, though less severely than Kizaru.
Zoro stopped his assault and seized the opportunity to break free from the area.
Sanji, Chopper, and Usopp followed his lead.
They quickly returned to the ship.
"That's…"
They saw someone.
It was the person who had blocked the Admiral's attack earlier.
"Scary…"
Kizaru spoke slowly.
"It's you again."
"You're always looking for trouble."
"Really frustrating."
"Really annoying."
"Silvers Rayleigh!"
That's right. The person who had just made a move was none other than Rayleigh.
Rayleigh, holding his long sword, calmly stared at Admiral Kizaru.
He said,
"Kizaru,
"Why do you always pick on the kids?"
"You always try to crush the buds before they even sprout."
"That hasn't changed about you, has it?"
"Whoosh!"
With a sound of rushing wind, Rayleigh moved.
His strike was terrifying, with a power that was hard to fathom.
"Huh?"
Kizaru's heart raced.
When did this old man become so skilled in combat?
In the past, Rayleigh wouldn't make a move unless it was absolutely necessary.
"Huh?"
Kizaru couldn't react in time.
Before he could even guard his chest, Rayleigh's sword struck, slashing across him and sending him flying back.
As Kizaru retreated, he quickly pulled out his shining sword, and condensed light around it.
"Swish!"
Kizaru didn't stop, using his swift movements to close the distance and charge at Rayleigh.
"Clang!"
Their blades clashed with a mighty sound, and the surrounding air exploded with a burst of light.
"Scary…"
"As expected of Rayleigh."
"As expected of the Dark King."
Kizaru said slowly, his voice tinged with awe.
Rayleigh, however, didn't seem pleased.
In fact, his anger was burning hot.
On one hand, this Admiral Kizaru was a constant nuisance, truly difficult to deal with.
On the other hand…
Luffy, that guy, still hadn't arrived.
What was he doing?
Was he so careless?
This was their crew's agreement, after all.
A two-year promise, how could it be taken lightly?
But Luffy really had broken his word.
Of course, perhaps if they waited a little longer, Luffy would eventually show up.
But regardless, Rayleigh's frustration was mounting.
His anger needed to be released.
"Kizaru," Rayleigh said.
"I'm going to get serious now."
For some reason, Rayleigh felt like it was finally time to show his true strength again.
It had been quite a long time since he'd last fought at his full potential.
"Huh?"
Kizaru felt something was wrong.
He suddenly sensed that the space around him was subtly warping.
Rayleigh's aura was rapidly climbing, increasing in pressure.
"This is bad!"
Kizaru tried to dodge, but it was too late.
"Boom!"
Rayleigh, with a surge of Conqueror's Haki, swung his sword down with terrifying power.
"Crash!"
A loud noise rang out.
Kizaru, along with his sword, was completely engulfed in light and sent flying.
In an instant, Kizaru reformed.
Breathing heavily, his body clearly injured, a few drops of blood were visible at the corner of his mouth.
Meanwhile, Rayleigh remained calm and composed, his expression slightly cold.
"Ah…"
He sighed lightly.
"You really gave it your all."
"Dark King Rayleigh."
Kizaru muttered, slightly out of breath.
Rayleigh didn't respond.
He simply vanished again.
"Whoosh!"
"Swish!"
His speed was beyond incredible.
"What?"
Kizaru was completely stunned.
The speed was so fast that he could hardly even detect it.
