Chapter 500: This Ingredient You Provided is Really too Polite!

After receiving the news brought by Li Hongxiu, Su Heng did not delay and immediately set out towards the Outer Sea. However, due to the time lost during the transmission of the message, when Su Heng arrived, he was still one step too late.

What presented before him was a burning coastline, a city turned into ruins, and dense, low-hanging clouds in the sky.

The air was filled with the smell of sulfur and gunpowder, the cold sea breeze battering against Su Heng in waves.

Su Heng squinted his eyes, gazing into the distance towards the sea.

His spiritual power was now exceedingly formidable, so he could see things hidden beneath the veil of reality. This ocean contained murky forces, giving Su Heng the impression it was like Wanyuan Plain inside the Imperial territory, possibly hiding multiple entrances to different regions of the immortal heavens.

"No wonder the sea has always been a taboo for so many years," Su Heng remarked with a tsk.

He was in no hurry to explore, and instead changed direction, gradually descending from the sky.

"There are still people alive in this city," said Li Hongxiu, sounding somewhat surprised, her voice reaching Su Heng's ear.

Looking around, the whole city had turned into ruins, and everywhere were burning buildings, fallen beams lying on the ground like the fractured spines of giants. However, on the streets and in the central square of the city, there were still some of the garrison, clad in iron armor and wielding long spears, fiercely battling and even escorting civilians from the city towards relatively safe directions.

"Judging by the crest on their shoulder armors, some of these garrison are survivors from Bai Shi City, while others are reinforcements rushed over from Crescent City and Copper Gong City, all elite soldiers," Li Hongxiu observed.

Li Hongxiu's spiritual body floated beside Su Heng, translucent in appearance like a ghost.

She then slightly frowned and said, "These creatures they're fighting are a bit strange, they carry the aura of demons, but not entirely the same."

"They must be some kind of Demon Beasts created by someone," Su Heng responded, looking down with a somewhat gloomy voice.

The Demon Beasts Li Hongxiu referred to were Molten Fire Giants, towering approximately three to five meters high. Their massive, heavy bodies were covered in dark red flames. As they moved, they left behind a trail of burning footprints, showing the extremely high temperature of their bodies which even distorted the air into dark smoke, and the heat was enough to slowly Ignite wood more than ten meters away.

These creatures, like giant flames traversing over the corpses of the city, were too powerful for the weaker garrison to combat.

Whether they were attacked with long spears or arrows, they were merely melted upon impact.

Only some cultivators adept in Ice True Qi, working together, could restrict them to some extent.

Fortunately, these creatures were not particularly numerous and moved rather sluggishly, which provided a possibility for resistance.

"Let's take care of these scum first; maybe we can find some useful clues on them," Su Heng said, not eager to rashly dive into this perilous sea.

Whoosh!

He stepped forward.

His massive figure vanished abruptly, reappearing in the city's central square.

There were about a hundred fleeing civilians here, led by three injured garrison. But a giant fiery figure appeared in front of them, while the collapsing, burning houses behind them formed an impassable barrier. The expressions on the three men's faces were torn; they could run, but doing so would undoubtedly doom the civilians behind them.

One of the younger garrison bit his lip and said, "Big brother, at this point, we've done all we can."

Feeling the oppressive heatwave, even the hair under his copper helmet began to sizzle.

The leader's face expressed extreme hesitation.

Just then—Boom!

Following a loud explosion, the steady stride of the Flame Giant suddenly faltered.

Then something incredible happened, just like broken blocks, the flames on its body were extinguished, and its robust body instantly crumbled, turning into a pile of black ash on the spot.

The same scenes unfolded in various corners of the city, following Su Heng's relentless sweep of spiritual power.

One after another, the Flame Giants collapsed to the ground throughout the city.

Boom, boom, boom!

Then from the dense, cloudy skies came the sound of thunder.

Large, cold raindrops poured down, extinguishing the flames clinging to the ruins.

In the pouring rain, Su Heng's massive, pitch-black figure solidified from the ethereal, the falling raindrops passing right through him.

The faces of the civilians in front showed relief, several women collapsing to the ground, sobbing softly. On the other hand, the few remaining garrison's eyes sparkled with excitement, "Are you, are you...?"

"Shh!" Li Hongxiu raised her hand and made a shushing gesture, winked at them, then stepped aside to clear a path.

Despite their excitement, the remaining garrison did not dare to linger, and quickly led the remaining civilians away from the square.
