Once a mobster, now Masachika Kuze

Chapter 66: OH MY GOD, I KISSED MY BROTHER! AND MORE THAN ONCE!

Ryan stared at Yuki as he felt her breath gently warming his neck. Her eyes sought his, but the lost expression made it clear she was trying to find a way to break the ice.

Suddenly, her voice came out hesitant, stumbling over the words as if choosing each one carefully:

"O-Onii... So you said... You were a mobster?"

Ryan's smile faded immediately, and he swallowed hard before responding in an almost automatic tone:

"Intrusive thoughts..."

Yuki raised an eyebrow, poking his chest with her finger as if passing judgment.

"Working for the mafia was an intrusive thought?"

Turning his gaze to the side, Ryan let out a short sigh before admitting:

"I didn't work for the mafia... I was the boss."

The shock made Yuki give a small jump in his lap, her eyes wide.

"You were the boss!?"

Ryan tried to get away with a generic smile, like a poorly trained actor trying to change the scene.

"Can we talk about something else?"

Yuki rested her chin on her hand, analyzing the situation as she continued:

"You said you received memories from a past life... So that means you died! How did that happen? Oh, and this name, Ryan? Do you prefer being called that?"

Ryan realized that explaining everything to Yuki wouldn't just be complicated—it would be embarrassing. Not because he didn't know what to say, but because he had no idea what expression to wear while speaking. He opted for a direct strategy to change the focus.

"And the kiss we just had? Doesn't that count as an intrusive memory too?" he asked, running a hand through his hair and ending the motion at his nape.

Yuki froze for a moment, a shiver running through her body. But she was the type to act before thinking. Her face remained calm, showing a completely neutral smile as if what he said hadn't affected her.

Ryan, however, wasted no time. He slid his hand around her waist, slowly moving it upward to her chest, where he held her firmly. With his other hand, he gently pulled her by the nape, bringing their faces closer, clearly ready for another kiss, determined to end the interrogation.

But before he could continue, a voice thundered in the room:

"You're such a bastard, Ryan! You left me alone—"

Yuno suddenly appeared in the room, using her teleportation. She froze at the sight of them in a compromising position: Yuki on Ryan's lap, his hand firmly on her chest, while the other held her nape.

The three stared at each other for a few seconds, the silence filled only by the ticking of the clocks in the background.

Yuno finally broke the tension with a sigh of pure disdain:

"Tsk... Even with your sister, Ryan? You're truly disgusting."

Yuki, apparently regaining her composure, stood up with calculated calm. She took her brother's hand, removing it from her chest with almost mechanical tranquility, then turned to Yuno and gave a polite bow. Her voice came out robotic, as if on autopilot:

"Good evening, Gasai-san. Make yourself at home. I'll make a coffee."

Without looking back, she walked quickly away, closing the door firmly behind her.

Ryan stood still for a moment, still processing the situation, before shouting desperately at the closed door:

"Come on, you're leaving me now!?"

But Yuki didn't answer.

Turning slowly to Yuno, Ryan found an expression of pure contempt and disgust on her face. He shrugged, leaning back on the couch as if he owned the place, letting out a sarcastic remark:

"Come on, who's gonna judge me? God?"

Yuno wiped her mouth with her fist, her eyes vacant, as she spat out a comment full of scorn:

"Disgusting pervert."

Ryan slapped the couch, standing up in a huff.

"Seriously? Jealous now?"

Yuno frowned in irritation, responding curtly:

"I'd kill you if I had a gun!"

He crossed his arms, ignoring the threat and keeping a provocative tone:

"Yeah, well, ya' don't." Ryan replied playfully. Okay, but did you succeed?"

Yuno walked elegantly to the smaller couch, sat down with impeccable posture, crossed her legs, and sighed before responding:

"Not thanks to you, you useless idiot. At the first opportunity, you made up excuses and bailed."

Ryan threw up his hands impatiently.

"Can we just get to the point?"

Yuno took a deep breath, adjusted her hair, and began:

"It was a shit explaining to everyone in the village why Rika entered in the sanctuary at 11 years old and came out at 15 years."

Ryan smirked, as if amused by the idea.

"And did you manage to explain the inexplicable?"

She glared at him before replying disdainfully:

"Unlike you, I know how to deal with people... That village is insane, and you know it. They blindly believe in Oyashiro-sama—nothing a good speech couldn't fix."

Ryan let out a laugh and flopped back onto the couch.

"Ah, makes sense... Villages like that are like crazy cults. I mean, look at Resident Evil 4—if you told them Oyashiro ordered them to hand over their wives, they'd believe it. So, what happened next?"

Yuno tossed her hair back, adjusting her posture as if ready to narrate something tiresome.

"You saw Rena and Keiichi's reactions before you ran off. Mion wasn't much different... But the strangest one was her friend, Satoko."

Ryan raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Really?"

Yuno nodded, her gaze fixed on some distant memory.

"The girl got all weird, muttering something like, 'You said you wouldn't abandon me...'"

Ryan closed his eyes, crossing his arms as he replied sarcastically:

"That gave me chills..."

Before the conversation could continue, a thudding sound echoed from the kitchen. Ryan immediately stood up, alarmed, and shouted:

"Yuki!? Are you okay?"

On the other side of the door, her voice sounded seemingly normal, almost rehearsed:

"Perfectly fine. The coffee will be ready soon!"

But reality was far from it. Yuki was crouched on the floor, her hands clutching her head as her face burned with embarrassment. Her mind screamed in a frantic loop:

"OH MY GOD, I KISSED MY BROTHER! AND MORE THAN ONCE!"

She began rolling back and forth on the floor, nearly suffocating in her own thoughts.

"This is so wrong! HOW DID HE ACTUALLY TAKE IT SERIOUSLY? KYAAAAAAA!"

Amid bouts of hysteria, her mind struggled to process the absurdity of the situation. Kissing her brother seemed like the loudest issue, even considering he could travel through time... and still claimed to be a god.

Meanwhile, Yuno continued her story, indifferent to Yuki's existential crisis in the kitchen.

"I took Rika to my house and called my parents for a family meeting..." She spoke in a bored, almost dragging tone, as if summarizing everything for Ryan was an unbearable chore.

Ryan gestured, curious.

"So? Are you staying with her?"

Yuno closed her eyes and replied matter-of-factly:

"I am."

Ryan let out a short laugh, almost incredulous.

"Seriously! How did you convince your parents?"

Yuno allowed a sarcastic smile to escape as she explained:

"At first, it was strange. My father wasn't going to accept it at all... But then, out of nowhere, Rika said, 'Nipaah~.'"

She paused dramatically, looking directly at Ryan before concluding:

"And you already know..."

Without missing a beat, both said at the same time:

"Critical hit."
