Once a mobster, now Masachika Kuze

Chapter 102: Did I overdo it?

Ryan stood still, pointing at himself with a smug grin.

"What a strange name..." Gojo commented, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Ryan furrowed his brows, his expression twisting into a slight frown. "And what the heck is wrong with my name?" His voice came out raspy, almost challenging.

Geto scratched his head, his serene expression contrasting with the obvious suspicion in his eyes. "The Jujutsu School didn't mention anyone else for this mission besides us..."

"Yeah, and it doesn't make sense to send anyone else just so we have to take care of them." Gojo lazily plopped down on the couch, resting his head on his hands. "It's just going to be more work."

Ryan leaned slightly, shifting his weight from one leg to the other, resting his hand on his hip, ready to retort. But before he could open his mouth, Riko intervened, her voice slightly mischievous:

"Look, you guys have been acting like hotshots ever since you arrived, but HE was the one who was in the right place when I needed help yesterday!" She crossed her arms, puffing out her cheeks in protest.

Ryan let out a sigh, glancing at the sorcerers. "If you think I'm going to be a dead weight, you've got another thing coming. You two just seem..." He took a closer look at Gojo, who maintained a relaxed expression. "Actually, you just seem like a complete idiot."

Gojo chuckled softly, waving his hand dismissively. "Dude... Hahaha... You really have no idea what you're getting yourself into, do you?"

He pointed at Ryan, a smug grin plastered on his face. "I guess you didn't get the memo... I'm Satoru Gojo, from the Gojo clan. You might be a bit lost, but I'm the current wielder of the Six Eyes and I was also born with the Limitless."

Ryan raised an eyebrow, feigning an air of epiphany. "Oh, I get it now. Just another one of those guys who love to brag... I've met plenty of them. In the end, most of them die because of their own arrogance."

Gojo exchanged a playful glance with Geto, as if mocking Ryan's statement. Then, he flashed a mischievous grin and continued, his voice dripping with irony:

"Ah, I see. So you're Ryan Gosting... Curious, because it seems I'm the one who's uninformed. After all, a sorcerer so powerful that he was sent to protect Master Tengen's vessel... You must be at least special grade, right?"

Riko sighed, exhausted by the back-and-forth banter. "Can you guys stop bickering? If you want to fight, do it outside."

Kuroi, standing beside Ryan, maintained her suspicious gaze. "We just want to know more about him, Ms. Riko... Nothing else."

Ryan winked at Riko with a sly smile. "Whether I'm special grade or not, it doesn't really matter. What matters is that I'm here, and we're going to have to put up with each other."

Geto, who had been leaning against the wall until then, moved slightly away and crossed his arms. "You're right. We're going to have to deal with your presence. But at the very least, we need to know what you can do. After all..."

"If you die, it's going to be a pain to fill out the report." Gojo interrupted with a sarcastic tone.

Ryan raised an eyebrow, thinking to himself: "Dude, I rewind time. Which makes me, basically, immortal and the master of destiny. But you guys don't need to know that."

He then sighed. "You don't need to worry about me. It's that simple."

Geto maintained his serious expression. "If that's the case, then I'll do you a favor and quickly explain what I can do."

He unfolded his arms and continued:

"I manipulate curses. Any cursed spirit that I exorcise becomes mine. I absorb them, store them, and use them whenever I want. It's like having an invisible army ready to destroy anyone who gets in my way."

Geto leaned back against the wall and stared intently at Ryan, his voice incisive.

"And you? Are you going to decide to tell us what you can do?"

Geto's analytical gaze was evident. He was studying Ryan. And Ryan, of course, noticed.

Ryan was silent for a few seconds before answering, his voice laced with seriousness:

"I can exorcise curses with a weapon."

The silence that followed was deafening.

Then, Gojo started laughing, covering his face with his hand, his shoulders shaking with the growing laughter.

Ryan sighed, thinking to himself: "Right... Maybe that doesn't sound so impressive. Let's try something else."

He rewound time, going back to the moment before he gave his answer.

This time, he rephrased:

"I can turn any weapon into a special weapon, channeling cursed energy into it."

As he spoke, he thought: "Well, it's not exactly cursed energy... But I hope it's convincing enough."

Before he could finish his train of thought, Gojo had the same reaction. His laughter echoed through the room as he slapped his leg, as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world.

Ryan clenched his fists.

"Damn it, you guys are so annoying!"

Out of patience, he once again rewound time. This time, he would be direct.

"I can see ten seconds into the future." His voice came out firm, laced with confidence.

Gojo tilted his head, a provocative glint in his eyes.

"Oh, a seer? Well, that's not that impressive, after all, not many people can have good accura-"

"After all, not many people can have good accuracy." Ryan interrupted him, repeating exactly what he was going to say.

Gojo raised an eyebrow. He was about to reply, but, the moment he opened his mouth, he and Ryan spoke together:

"Dude, are you serious?"

A flash of irritation crossed Gojo's face. He tried again.

"Okay, maybe you can really—"

"Okay, maybe you can really—"

Ryan repeated every word he said in perfect sync.

Gojo's expression darkened, his eyebrow twitching.

"Okay, can you stop doing that?"

"Okay, can you stop doing that?"

"OK, I'M ALREADY CONVINCED!"

"OK, I'M ALREADY CONVINCED!"

The room fell silent. Ryan looked away, relieved. "Damn it, finally... I had to keep going back in time just to know what this white-haired idiot was going to say. Well, I kind of showed my true power, but he'll never know. After all, he can't remember the time I erase."

Geto, who had been watching everything calmly, finally spoke up. His voice was calm, almost contemplative:

"Now it makes sense. You're probably here to prevent surprise attacks from the enemy."

Gojo crossed his arms, his arrogance plastered on his face.

"Yeah, except the enemy wouldn't be able to corner us."

Riko rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue.

"Alright, Gojo. Now it's your turn to explain your power! You're the most cocky one here, so go ahead, genius, explain!"

Gojo grinned, adjusting his glasses with a nonchalant flick.

"Riko... I have many abilities. The ones I've already mentioned are the Limitless and the Six Eyes... But..."

He stood up, his chest puffed with confidence.

"One of the coolest ones is the Infinity."

With relaxed steps, he walked over to Geto and held out his hand.

"It's pretty simple to explain... There's an infinite space between me and anything that tries to touch me. The closer it gets, the slower it moves, until it never reaches me. It's like trying to touch the horizon."

Geto tried to reach Gojo's hand... But no matter how hard he tried, his hand never reached his.

Ryan let out a nasal laugh, laced with sarcasm.

"Damn... It just looks like he's pretending."

Gojo chuckled smugly as he walked over to Ryan, gesturing provocatively.

"Yeah, I know, hard to believe... So go ahead, try it yourself!"

He got even closer, placing his hands behind his back and leaning slightly forward.

"Here, you can try to punch me... You don't have to hold back."

Ryan lowered his shoulders, letting out a sigh filled with boredom.

"Dude... This seems kind of pathetic, don't you think?"

Gojo maintained his smug tone, a challenging smile on his lips.

"Relax, you don't have to be scared."

Ryan raised an eyebrow, analyzing his confident expression as he thought. "Honestly, this guy's face makes me want to punch him so badly..."

"Are you sure? I have a heavy hand..." His voice sounded more serious now.

Gojo puffed out his chest, overflowing with confidence.

"Go ahead... You won't even be able to touch me anyway

Ryan sighed, clenching his fist as he focused his energy.

"Let's see... I hope I don't punch an invisible barrier..."

Gojo grinned arrogantly.

"Technically, you won't even be abl—"

The unthinkable happened.

The sharp sound of shattering glass echoed through the room.

Geto, standing near the windows, widened his eyes as he heard the crash of shards scattering across the floor. The world seemed to slow down for a moment, and, in slow motion, he saw Gojo being thrown out of the building.

The thud came the next instant.

Kuroi reacted quickly, shielding Riko from the flying glass while the girl let out a small yelp.

Ryan remained still, watching Gojo fly out the 13th-floor window.

In a low voice, he muttered to himself:

"Damn... Did I overdo it?"
