Chapter 21: Chapter 21:Chaos power theory

Next to present was the young blonde next to Yennefer.

The young woman stepped forward and stood in the circle.

The young woman was tall, with a curvaceous figure and had wavy blonde hair that reached her shoulders and her eyes were a golden color.

Although Viltz was not one to be swayed by a person's appearance, he had to admit that this young woman was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his two lives.

"My name is Margarita Laux-Antille and my presentation will be about the role that the power of chaos plays in our world."

Margarita gave a long and interesting speech about how the power of chaos influenced some of the phenomena shown in the world and gave theories as to why it influenced in such a way, from her speech you could sense how curious she was about this subject and her desire to delve deeper into such research.

When she finished explaining, she gave a simple bow before withdrawing from the circle.

"Your various views and theories have sincerely surprised me, as expected from the granddaughter of one of Aretuza's most famous sorceresses."

The Chancellor put down the document in his hand and sincerely praised Margarita's work.

Next to make his presentation was Sorel.

Sorel stood in the middle of the circle and waited until the wizards gave him the order to begin his presentation.

Sorel spent twenty minutes explaining his research that dealt with hybridization using magic, something akin to creating a chimera by fusing two beings into one, he even demonstrated using two small snakes that he fused together in the middle of the presentation, creating a small black snake with two heads.

Although it surprised the wizards, what Sorel did could be considered going to the limit allowed by the rules of the brotherhood, although many of those up there broke most of the rules they created themselves, they still had to impose their authority, so although they congratulated Sorel for his discoveries, they also admonished him and warned him to follow the rules of the brotherhood.

Sorel could only nod in response.

The next to make her presentation was Yennefer, who presented a theory about why the power of chaos causes sources that do not train their power to go crazy.

Finally it was Viltz's turn,

Standing in the middle of the circle of light, Viltz introduced himself:" I am Vilgefortz and my presentation will be about mental energy and the composition of the power of chaos."

Frowning, the Chancellor suddenly became interested, he grabbed the document passed to him by Vice Chancellor Mardin in which were written down some of the ideas and a summary that Viltz drafted so that everyone would have an idea of what his research was about.

Intrigued, the chancellor looked at Viltz and spoke, "Go ahead, you may begin."

Viltz bowed slightly before beginning to present.

"To some, chaos is a concept, a supernatural power that allows its bearer to use magic.

Some consider it a key capable of opening the forbidden door. The door behind which nightmares, fears and unimaginable horrors hide, behind which enemies hide and wait, destructive powers, the forces of pure Evil capable of annihilating not only the one who opens the door but with him the whole world. And since there is no lack of those who try to open the door, someone, at some point, will make a mistake and then the destruction of the world will be prejudged and inevitable.

Some thinkers and philosophers consider the fact that, after the Conjunction of the Spheres, people have learned to use magic, to be the curse and ruin of the world. The ruin of humanity.

And in some of the ideas of those people i agree, we have an extremely volatile and dangerous power that we can channel because we are born with this natural talent, but being drivers of chaos does not mean that we are able to control it to do magic.

Magic organizes chaos, when a wizard casts a spell, what many of you don't know is that not only does it expend your chaos energy, but it also expends your mental energy as a spell is a significant mental load and that is why when a source overexerts themselves they end up with nosebleeds and according to my theory this should also be the reason why sources that didn't learn magic end up going crazy.

According to my theory, this mental energy is in charge of channeling and reorganizing the chaos in our bodies to form a spell, since in order to use magic we only need to learn a spell and when we want to use it we only need to use the corresponding incantation and the spell will immediately come to our mind, allowing us to cast it almost immediately after the chant.

Taring to speak this far, Viltz gave a demonstration in which he conjured a fist-sized fireball without reciting the spell aloud.

Dispelling the fireball, Viltz explained, "Some talented spellcasters can do something similar without problems because they get so used to a spell that they end up engraving it in their minds, following that theory, i developed a training method in which the spellcaster must visualize the spell in his mind continuously until it sticks in his mind, this way he can cast the spell almost instantaneously just by thinking about it."

Giving the spellcasters a moment to mull over their various ideas and theories, Viltz spoke again.

"Well, for the second half of my presentation i want to talk about the structural makeup of the power of chaos itself."

While it is a power that flows throughout the world, it is known to all that the power of chaos is also present in other dimensions.

I once wondered what this wonderful but dangerous power that flows through our veins was made of.

Intrigued, i began to investigate and came to a great discovery."

The chancellor and the other wizards sharpened their ears at Viltz's words.

"That discovery is that the power of chaos is a pure energy that flows naturally throughout the universe and has been contaminated by the various energies of other dimensions such as the demonic dimension or the elemental dimensions.

It is this very contamination, this trace of those various energies that remain attached to the power of chaos that forms a kind of connection that connects us to the various dimensions and allows us to use their power."

To give an example, Viltz summoned 5 different colored balls of light and scattered them around the large room.

"I want you to think of these balls of light as different dimensions from which we can draw power."

Next, Viltz summoned a blue ball of light and floated it over his palm.

"Now i want you to think of this ball of light as if it were a kind of primordial energy with no attributes and extremely malleable that flows throughout our universe."

Viltz spun the ball of light in his palm a few times before floating it toward another orange ball of light.

"If we consider that orange ball of light as the fire dimension and the blue ball as an energy with no attributes that can assimilate any other energy, what do you think will happen?"

"Maybe the two energies will collide with each other or maybe they will merge, giving birth to a higher quality energy."

Tissaia replied, very interested in Viltz's explanation.

"Exactly, but what if the fire dimension itself is the one who wants this merging to occur?"

"Are you suggesting that the dimensions are sentient?" Scoffed a sorcerer in a sarcastic voice.

"No, but just as our world has its own laws, which we tend to interpret as force of nature, the various dimensions must also have their own laws governing them.

If the dimension deems it beneficial to merge with this energy then there will be no rejection."

Viltz waved his hand again and the original blue ball of light now had an orange streak.

Okay, now consider this little ball as chaos power that has assimilated some of the power of the fire dimension, if i want to extract the power of that dimension then I have to absorb this power and use it to establish a bridge to that dimension.

Viltz concentrated on the ball of blue light and it began to shrink to half its original size, and when it stopped shrinking, the orange streak of light began to tremble, releasing a red thread that shot towards the orange ball.

Viltz snapped his fingers and a small flame appeared on his index finger.

The wizards noticed that when Viltz summoned the flame, the small thread widened slightly.

"Hmmmm, interesting, if we can keep researching in this direction we could come up with some incredible results." Chancellor Gerhart mused.

Viltz waved his hand and the small blue ball passed by the other balls of light and each time he passed by one, a trace of the ball's energy stayed with it.

"My theory is that the chaos power originally had no attributes, it was pure, if we manage to develop a method to purify the chaos power in our body and augment it so that it constantly nourishes it, we could live much longer than we can live at present."

The chancellor's eyes shone, he was already old and had no more than 100 years to live.

He saw the hope of prolonging his existence in the theory put forward by Viltz, if he could make the power of chaos in his body become as pure and docile as Vilgefortz said, not only could he prolong his life but he would surpass in power those wise elves who once taught him magic.
