Chapter 9: Chapter 9: The Tyrant’s Wrath
Chapter 9: The Tyrant's Wrath
The battlefield lay in ruins, flames licking at the debris scattered across the outpost. The air was thick with smoke and the stench of burnt metal, but Ben stood firm, his Heatblast form flickering like a beacon in the darkness. Across from him, Frieza dusted himself off, his golden form shining under the ruined sky, eyes filled with a cruel amusement.
Ben knew the battle had only just begun.
---
Frieza smirked, cracking his neck as his tail flicked behind him lazily. "You're starting to bore me, creature. Is this all your little toy can do?"
Ben clenched his fists, the flames around him intensifying. He wasn't naïve—he knew Frieza was still toying with him. This wasn't the peak of the tyrant's power. If Ben wanted to survive this fight, he needed to be unpredictable.
Without hesitation, he tapped the Omnitrix, the green glow flashing as his body shifted again. His fiery form faded, replaced by the sleek, armored frame of Diamondhead. Sharp, crystalline spikes jutted from his body, and his hands reshaped into jagged blades.
Frieza arched an eyebrow. "Interesting… but still useless."
Ben dashed forward, his diamond-coated limbs slicing through the air with precision. Frieza dodged with ease, his golden form blurring out of reach with frightening speed. Ben barely had time to react as Frieza appeared behind him, a cruel smirk forming before he slammed his fist into Ben's back, sending him crashing into the ground below.
The force of the impact sent cracks through the battlefield, and Ben groaned as he tried to push himself up. Before he could react, Frieza was already there, grabbing him by the throat and lifting him effortlessly.
"You're durable, I'll give you that," Frieza mused, tightening his grip. "But you're a long way from being my equal."
Ben struggled against the crushing force, but even Diamondhead's enhanced durability wasn't enough to break free. He needed to change tactics—fast.
---
The Omnitrix glowed again, and in an instant, Ben's form shifted once more. His crystalline armor melted away, replaced by the rubber-like elasticity of Upgrade. His body fused with Frieza's hand, liquid metal tendrils creeping up the tyrant's arm.
Frieza's eyes widened in shock, his arm suddenly stiffening. "What—?"
Ben grinned. "Yeah, you're not the only one with some tricks, Frieza."
Using Upgrade's ability, Ben surged through Frieza's golden bio-armor, attempting to take control. But the moment he did, an overwhelming surge of energy blasted through his body, sending him recoiling in pain. He barely managed to detach before Frieza's aura exploded around him, forcing him backward.
"Nice try," Frieza sneered, his power crackling in the air. "But you're no parasite. And I don't share my power."
Ben cursed under his breath. That plan had been a gamble, and it had failed. Frieza was too strong, his energy far too vast for Upgrade to manipulate. But that didn't mean Ben was out of options.
---
Rolling back onto his feet, he reverted to his human form, breathing heavily. He needed a moment to think. Frieza was enjoying himself, but he wouldn't play around forever. Soon, he'd lose patience and go for the kill.
Ben's mind raced. He knew Frieza's weaknesses. Arrogance. Overconfidence. A tendency to toy with his enemies instead of finishing them off.
Ben could use that.
He smirked, wiping blood from his lip. "Man, for someone so strong, you sure talk a lot. I thought you were supposed to be the universe's biggest threat. Guess I was wrong."
Frieza's expression darkened.
"You dare mock me?"
Ben chuckled, folding his arms. "I dunno, I expected more from a so-called emperor. I mean, if this is your best, maybe Beerus was right not to take you seriously."
Frieza's aura flared violently, and in an instant, he was in front of Ben, his fist colliding with his gut. The impact sent Ben flying backward, crashing through rubble and metal like a ragdoll.
Ben coughed, pain surging through his body. But as he struggled to his feet, he smirked.
Good. He's getting angry.
---
Frieza landed lightly, glaring down at him. "I should end you here and now, but I want to hear you beg first."
Ben rolled his shoulders. "Oh yeah? You sure about that? 'Cause I think you're stalling."
Frieza's tail twitched. "Stalling?"
Ben chuckled, standing tall. "Yeah. I've been watching you, Frieza. You act like you're in control, but you're not. You're afraid. You're afraid that if you don't finish this quickly, you might actually lose."
Frieza's expression twisted into something unreadable, his golden aura flaring violently. "You… insolent… insect!"
Ben smirked, his fingers hovering over the Omnitrix. Gotcha.
In a flash, he transformed again—this time into Ghostfreak. His body faded into mist, vanishing from sight just as Frieza lunged at him.
Frieza's fist met empty air.
---
For the first time, Frieza faltered. "Where did you—?"
A whisper brushed against his ear. "Right behind you."
Frieza whirled around, but Ben was already phasing through him, his ghostly form slipping past the tyrant's defenses. Before Frieza could react, Ben unleashed a burst of dark energy, sending the warlord crashing into the ground.
Ben hovered above, watching as Frieza snarled in frustration.
He could feel it now.
Frieza was really angry.
And that meant he was finally making mistakes.
