Chapter 8- Friends vs. Business – Part 1

The end of break bell rings, some students tidy up their desks, others not so much, they drop everything on the table, Ana tries to help the people who are tidying up quickly, and then they go up to the classroom, because the Coordinator shouted for them to go up to the classroom, Classes take place normally, Ana goes to put her things in her backpack and comes across the flyers again, and thinks about how she's going to hand them in to her father, who waits for her every day on the way out, would he mind her going against the Beckers again, her father doesn't know who's President of the Guild, or who isn't, she doesn't know what to do and stands before the school's exit gate, she sees the Beckers walking past her, but she disguises herself and hides behind a wall and pretends she's putting her shoes and socks back on, she then decides to hide from her father, that is, to fool him for a few moments, she calls him, and tells him that she has to stay at school for a while, because the teacher has given her an assignment, and as she joined in the middle of the year, she has to do the assignment. Her father then goes for a drive, and says that he'll be back later, but that she can't stay too long because there's training at the Beckers' house. Ana hides by the gate and sees her father leaving with the car. Ana quickly goes out the gate and heads for the empty lot.

"Oh, I've finally managed to come here again, I don't know when I'll be able to escape again."

Ana sees a metal drum, she takes her lighter from her backpack, because she needs the element itself to be able to manipulate it, she then decides to burn the leaflets, and it would probably solve the matter, she puts the leaflets inside the drum, when she speaks an incantation and snaps her fingers, to make it catch fire, someone whispers in her ear, Ana then freezes for a moment.

"That's not a good idea..."

Ana immediately stops the incantation, she recognizes that voice, she looks back startled, and sees that it's Luke, for a moment she lets out a sigh of relief, she even broke out in a cold sweat. Ana tries to take the leaflets from the drum again, but Luke is quicker and grabs them first.

"God, give it back kid....how can you be so fast, and always sneak up on me out of nowhere...give it back!"

She jumps up to grab the flyers from Luke, while he dodges trying to read them.

"Hey, have you given up on competing in the Guild Election that quickly?"

"I told you to give it back, I didn't give up...I just..."

Ana comes to her senses, this attitude shows that she is indeed giving up, how can she argue otherwise now, she is thoughtful for a moment, and replies:

"Well, I really wanted to, to compete in the Student Guild Election, I thought it would be good to socialize with people, I was really doing something I wanted to, but suddenly I felt frustrated, it feels like I'm doing something wrong, I think I'm being a coward."

Luke then puts down his arm with the flyers, and says:

"Coward? No, I think you're a coward Ana... you were brave enough not to know hardly anyone in the school, and to run for the Guild, why should you give up now? Give me a good reason, I'd really like to compete with someone."

Ana stares at his face:

"You must be crazy Luke, firstly you almost scared me to death, and secondly to be giving advice to your "rival"?

Luke retorts:

"Simple, friends friends, and business aside."
