Chapter 3- Resolving the misunderstanding.
They finally arrive at the Becker house, and it's already evening. Ana says hello and apologizes for what happened to Mr. Becker, but she can't even lift her head out of her shame, her father and Mr. Becker go to talk in the study behind closed doors for a while. Luke takes Justin to his room to have a shower and finally rest.
Ana sits on the bench in the garden of the house, waiting for her father to come out of the office. She knows she's going to hear a lot from her father, especially for all the misunderstandings she's somehow helped to cause:
"I'll probably be grounded, and won't be able to write anymore for a while...depending on my father's will, I'll only see this notebook when I get married...SAD."
She closes her notebook and seals it with magic, so that only she can open it and read what she has written in it. After waiting a while, Justin gets out of the shower and gets changed. He notices through his bedroom window that Ana is still sitting on the bench by herself, so he decides to go downstairs and try to talk to her.
Justin sits down next to Ana, Ana notices that he's wearing a plaster cast and feels uncomfortable about the whole situation:
"I'm sorry, I've misinterpreted things, and I've caused problems for you Beckers, and for my parents."
Justin smiles and says calmly:
"Don't worry, you don't have a crystal ball that can guess things."
Ana looks thoughtful and says:
"Actually, I do have a crystal ball..."
Justin doesn't understand.
"You do?"
"Yes, in my room, but you can't really guess anything in it, it's only for magic..."
Justin laughs, he understands what she means because his father also has such an item in his office, he then introduces himself:
"Hm, I see, well, we haven't been properly introduced, my name is Justin Becker, can we be friends now?"
Ana doesn't understand:
"Friends? Even after everything that's happened today? Are you sure you want to be my friend?"
Justin notices that Ana is unpleasant, but what catches his attention is that she is an honest person, and really speaks her mind, she wasn't fake like many people are when they are around them and there are many people like that at school, like everywhere her family goes, even if she was wrong, she stood up for what she thought was right, he explains this to her, and asks her not to change her way of being, no matter what it is.
"I'll explain another day more calmly, what really happened the day you met us, it wasn't what it seemed to be, I don't usually go for violence, unless I have a great reason for it."
Ana listens to him attentively, and realizes that he's not very good at being a stalker, he's too calm for that, but she's still a little wary of his other brother, who seems to be more nervous, they haven't even looked each other in the eye yet, Justin seems calm in his speech, Ana feels she can trust him. She then asks to be the first to write on the plaster on his right hand.
"Justin, as proof of my repentance... I'm going to draw a picture on your plaster, may I?"
Justin accepts calmly, Ana then draws a picture of a crystal ball with several scratches that look like it's lit, and writes "I'm sorry, Ana." Justin thinks it's cute and thanks her, Ana then explains:
"This drawing is a sign of protection and healing, soon your pulse will be healthy again."
Justin is surprised and thanks her.
"Oh, thank you for the protection, wow, I can already feel that I'm recovering!"
And he starts moving his arm non-stop, Ana holds him to stop him moving and says:
"No, don't move your arm.... magic isn't that fast, you should rest."
Justin immediately stops moving his arm and rests his hand again.
"Oh, that'll take a while, I see, I'll rest then."
Finally her father leaves Mr. Han Becker's office, she says goodbye to Justin, and notices that someone else is watching them through the window, but she can't see it's dark even with the lights on, yellow lights seem to darken the room, so they leave and go home, which by the way, is very close to the Beckers'.
Justin goes up to his room, when he passes Luke's room, and notices that he's at the window looking at something, he decides to say goodnight to his brother before going to sleep.
"Is there anything that caught your eye in the window, Luke?"
Luke quickly closes the curtain, turns to Justin and says:
"Attention? No, I was just checking to see if that troublemaker had left yet, by the way, you seem to have made friends with her..."
"Oh, yes, I've made a new friend, and I got a drawing on my casted arm."
Luke frowns:
"But I was going to write it down first..."
"Relax, there's still plenty of room... write on the side, but don't touch her drawing."
Luke looks at the drawing of a crystal ball on the plaster, he then picks up a pen and threatens to scribble over it, but Justin looks serious and doesn't let him, Luke doesn't see any other way and writes something on the side of the drawing, "Better Bro, Ps: This on the side, looks like a child's drawing." Justin reads it and draws his attention.
"Bro, you jealous bastard, it's not a child's drawing, it's a protection."
Luke stares at Justin without really understanding:
"Well, to me it looks like a drawing by a two-year-old."
Justin laughs, then they say goodbye and go to sleep.
