Old Times

Chapter 15- An evening stroll in the mall part 2.

Ana's mother asks them to choose what they're going to eat, and she chooses for Ana what she should eat, that is, while the two of them are eating snacks, her mother asks them to eat salad. Ana doesn't even try to argue, but it's inevitable to think:

(Coming to the mall to eat salad? I eat salad at home.... what a drag, I wanted a hamburger, Mom).

Ana finishes her salad, but she's still starving. Her mother waits for everyone to finish, and they go for one last walk around the mall, the four of them together. They pass a sweet shop, and Ana stares at a cake decorated with strawberries, which looks very good, she thinks:

(God, next time I want to come without my mother....Oh, that cake looks so good, I just want a piece of it).

She stares at the cake for a moment, when her mother says:

"No sugar for today, Ana, or there'll be no point in training, you'll put on weight if you eat everything you want."

Ana gives a forced smile, just to disguise her dissatisfaction with the control her mother has over her. The boys just watch, quiet until then, they just look at each other and remain silent, trying to disguise the fact that they've been annoyed since the Salad part.

"I know, Mom, I just thought the decoration was pretty, that's all."

As they finish their last lap around the mall, because it's getting late, Justin notices that Luke isn't by his side, but soon he appears again, he appears with a bag, along with others he already had, and as they walk to the mall parking lot together, Ana's mother goes to her car, and as Ana is saying goodbye to the boys, Luke hands her a hidden bag, and signals for her to be quiet.

"Shh, find a way to hide it..."

Ana is surprised, she can't imagine what it could be, so she mixes it with the other bags she's holding, thanks him and gets into the car, while Luke walks with Justin to their car. Ana puts on her shoes and does everything she can to hide the bag. When they finally get home, she disguises it and puts the bag inside the other larger ones, thanks her mother for the shopping and goes to her room. She finally breathes a sigh of relief:

"Phww, at last, I thought there would be no end to this evening..."

She then lifts the bag Luke gave her, she's really curious about it, opens it and sees that it's a cake:

"Oh, it's that cake I saw... did he see me looking at it?"

"I just wanted a piece, where am I going to hide all this cake now? It's not that big, can I eat it all? I have to hide it in the fridge in some way that my mother won't see it."

Ana thinks twice about sending a text message to Luke's cell phone thanking him, but decides to send it instead:

"Hi, thanks for the cake, good night : ) "

Ana eats 2 pieces, she was really hungry and wanted to eat cake, she decided to put it away in the fridge in an attempt to hide it, she sees that Luke hasn't replied, but it's late too, she decides to go online for a while, at night the rate is usually reduced.

Dialing, Dialing...Connected.

She manages to connect to the internet and checks her email, and notices that the message she sent to her friend has been answered, so she reads it and decides to answer him again, she has to turn off the internet and go to bed, before her parents see her on the computer, and then goes to sleep.

The next day, Ana gets up, washes herself and puts on her uniform, and goes downstairs to have breakfast, her mother is already awake and has finished preparing breakfast, she remembers the cake in the fridge, and tries to get it before her mother sees it, she opens the fridge and sees that it's not where she left it, but she can't find it anywhere in the fridge, her mother then notices that she's looking for something and says:

"Are you looking for the cake you hid? Too late, I've thrown it away."
