Her forehead scrunched in anger slightly as she muttered to herself, unsatisfied.

"It's still not fully activated. I can wait."

Her cherry lips turned into a smile, a deep smile as she realised that she could choose not to respond.

She could delay her response to this summon.

Closing her eyes, she dived back into her deep meditation, awaiting the moment when the room gets fully illuminated.

That was the moment when she would be free to leave this confinement.

"Ahem, Natasha, I didn't expect you to be here. Did you wait long?"

The queen finally arrived, dressed in a fine black dress to her knees. Her eyes showed joy as she spotted Natasha, her cousin, sitting in the garden, sipping on tea.

She was apologetic though, even a little awkward that she made Natasha wait so long.

She side eyed her direct subordinate, obviously dissatisfied that her sister got to know of all this.

From behind the queen, Rae waved as he greeted Natasha with a big smile.

"Hey! Fancy meeting you here, professor."

His eyes scanned her body, the spell on him activating instinctively.

Seeing the mark on Rae's eyes, she was stunned for a second, recalling the incident from back then. Her hands instinctively moved to cover her intimate areas as she greeted him back.

"Hey Rae, it's good to see you too."

But this did not stop her from being shocked even more.

According to the rumours and very obvious rationale, Rae should not be here, alive, in front of him.

'How's he alive??'

Natasha's eyes were wide open, too stunned to ask that question. She was aware that Rae had beef with Arista family and the chances that the rumours were untrue were unlikely.

But before she could decide to question Rae, he was already leaving.

"You guys should talk, I am leaving."

He did not seem to be in a hurry but this also did not appear like the personal space he was giving to the two sisters.

It appeared that he really had something to do.

"Leaving?"

The queen turned her head back, surprised that Rae was going to leave.

At this instant? When she had to explain so much to her cousin?

She was left awkward and unwilling.

"Just an errand. I will be back shortly."

Rae passed a cheeky smile as his hands snaked around her waist, his hand squeezed her butt over the black dress before he walked away.

"Ah! Okay."

Embarrassed, the queen could only nod, hoping that her sister did not see it. The chances of that happening were abysmal but she hoped for it.

Both of them watched Rae leave before they finally took a good look at each other.

"So? Tell me!"

Natasha folded her arms as she straightened her face and asked the queen.

"About the factions? We are winning! Absolutely!"

The queen gave a hearty smile as she thought of it before replying. It was going well for them, they were winning.

"Winning? How? And explain to me what that was!!"

Natasha appeared surprised that the queen was so nonchalant about this.

How could a queen, the leader of a faction, who just got ahead of other factions, could be so carefree?

Shouldn't she be even more wary and cautious at this point? Why did she mention in the letter that everything was fine now?

But most important of all, what was the hand of that young man doing on her sister's butt???

She needed a lot of explanation. How did the queen become so comfortable with a student? And why?

The queen looked stunned before she took a good look at her subordinate, assuming that she must have spilled the beans.

"Don't try to lie!! I have been here for two hours."

Before the queen could rebuke the veiled lady, Natasha claimed to have guessed it from observation.

And this sounded possible as Natasha was quite a prodigy herself.

So, the queen began to narrate the story from the very beginning, how she sent her subordinate to recruit Rae, how they made a deal, and what was the content of that deal.

"You did what!!!"

Face shocked, eyes wide, Natasha stood up from the chair she was sitting at and yelled.

Fortunately, there were no outsiders in the garden to witness the queen being yelled at.

"Are you for real now, Adelina??"

Natasha shook the queen's shoulder as she questioned the decision she had made for power.

"Deal! A damned deal with a Demon?"

She could not help murmuring to herself, repeating the word demon as she looked at her sister, shocked.

"Do you even know what you have tossed away for this??"

She made a grave face as she asked the queen. Giving away herself for some power which she would not even be able to enjoy?

Then what was the point of all this struggle they had been through?

"Ohh no!! No, no , no!! It's not this."

The queen looked at her sister, the reaction was too exaggerated for someone of composed behaviour like her.

Then she realised, she seemed to have not explained it well.

"So the deal is not like that… it is.."

She began to explain that the part where she had given her body to Raw, it was not like a sacrifice but rather adultery.

"You okay"

After finally understanding what her sister had made the deal for, Natasha looked relieved and asked.

She went for a hug, hugging the queen tightly against her body.

There were sore spots on her body, but the queen went along with it even though her body was pretty exhausted and sore all over.

"But how do you know him?"

After things settled down, the queen Adelina asked Natasha.

She knew how they knew each other of course, she was the one who employed Rae to guard Natasha in secret but she was curious if it was more than that.

"He is the only one among the students who could use the spell."

Natasha explained how Rae was very talented and grasped the very complex spell that she can't even properly execute even after all those years.

"But he should have died, at least according to the rumours.

I had hoped that he would not though, knowing he would not be that easy to end."

She further added how there was the noble who wanted Rae to work under him but got angered by the refusal and decided to act against Rae.

"So nobody at the academy knows?"
