Chapter 15: Killing Brendy... The Second Kill!
The hall they were at ended up by another tunnel. The whole dungeon was divided into halls linked together by a tunnel. They fought for another ten halls, killing ten monsters each time, making them have one a hundred monsters killed in mere hours.
The leveling speed of this dungeon would be unparalleled, as Bloom expected to get one more level at the very least. The final hall was much wider than all they fought in before, and there was one monster waiting for them there.
The boss of this dungeon!
Throughout the journey, Brendy kept pressing over Bloom's nerves, that Bloom swore to kill him once they got out of here. He didn't like to kill players not related to the main quests of the game, but this assassin had gone so far with him.
It wasn't only Bloom who was pissed off at Brendy, but literally everyone else. Brendy was like a nightmare, an old hag complaining and a little girl whining all the time. all his mean words were targeted at Bloom, which aroused everyone's hatred towards him.
Bloom didn't know that, but the whole team agreed to kick Brendy out of the group, and warmly welcomed Bloom, whose instructions and strange and outstanding fighting ability made them able to reach this far.
Gored was sure, no other team would be able to handle such a dungeon in this stage. The dungeon was really hard, and its rules were really impossible to adapt with.
If not for the impressively timely appearances of Bloom one time after another, his right on the spot instructions given to them, modifying their formation and fighting style, they would have been wiped out a long time ago.
Bloom eyed the boss monster for over five minutes without saying a word. In his mind, many battle techniques were being judged, based on his own experience and memories, to select the most suitable approach to kill this boss monster.
Boss monsters in the game all follow the same merciless rule, the time rule. Monsters didn't follow the usual Hp loss principle of all boss monsters in any given game, or even the usual monsters here in this game.
Boss monsters here follow a certain set of rules that made fighting them really a tasking job. Each five minutes, each boss monster would use a certain AOE skill of his, which couldn't be evaded or defended against no matter what!
After the first five minutes, the boss monster would use a strange mute skill that would render their skills useless. All skills would enter, forcible, cooldown period, and those in front of the monster would take the full toll of this skill.
The next skill to be activated at the ten minutes mark would be an AOE damage skill, with special ability to it. knock down, stun, control, name it and it might happen. The choice of skills would differ from one monster to another, but they would all follow the same rules.
At the fifteen minutes juncture, the boss monster would use an AOE skill that would deplete any special form of energy the player was using. Atp, Mp, Stm, Cp, Gp, Wp, or Def, any of them would be mercilessly diminished by half their initial value.
Then boss monsters would vary, if they were dungeon bosses, like this werewolf like boss in front of him, then the twenty minute juncture would have the most devastating AOE attack ever, Hp forcibly diminishing by half!
Any player with fifty percent or less of his Hp at this point would be instantly killed. The only good news here is that after each skill was used, there would be a thirty seconds forcibly weakening period to the monster, so players would aim towards this slight window, hoping to kill the monster before the last stage was reached.
Bloom knew, with the current levels of the players, and the lack of any healing potions or skills for all players, any team that would attempt to fight any boss monster would be wiped out.
That created a strange phenomenon, as players would all reach the last boss, clearing the whole dungeon, then to be wiped out without exception.
This continued to happen until reaching level ten, where players would finally be able to go to their designated villages, buy Hp potions, and then be able to completely clear the dungeons.
Bloom also knew, despite this nearly impossible game setting, the dungeons were a hot topic from day one in the game. The reason was for the massive XP gained from clearing all these monsters, which overshadowed the XP lost from dying once in the dungeon.
"What's wrong genius? Your brain malfunctioned here? or your dirty cheats won't work here?"
Suddenly, amidst his immersion in his own thoughts, this distasteful voice came to disrupt his own thinking.
"Enough or I swear you will regret it!" Bloom finally couldn't take it, as he was so close to arrange a plan to deal with this boss before they all reached the deadly twenty minutes' mark.
"Oh, you ca…" Brendy, who was standing five meters away from Bloom, couldn't finish his mean words, as Bloom darted from his place, unsheathing his two swords, and immediately stabbed him in the heart and head.
"Stab."
"Stab."
"75"
"150"
Two strikes, one crits, completely depleted Brendy's, weak to start with, Hp. One strike of those was enough to send him to the cemetery, outside the cave of this dungeon, however Bloom made sure that the bastard wouldn't survive due to any kind of skill.
"Y-Y-You!!!" he stuttered before falling down, turning into a dead cold body, slowly fading away. He didn't drop anything, as players were protected during the first ten levels from losing any stuff from their inventory, and even if not, Bloom was sure that mean bastard had nothing valuable in his inventory.
"Sorry, he really got on my nerves, and crossed his line many times already," Bloom said these fake apologizing words, as he needed to not arouse the hatred of this team, not after all the hard work he put into gaining their friendship.
"Don't apologize my dear friend, he really was a pain in the as*. In fact, we intended to expel him from the team once and for all after we leave here, and gladly invite you to be with us," Gored finally expressed his own thoughts, showing his support to Bloom, who appreciate this gesture from him and the others.
"You seemed quite disturbed some time ago, is there anything wrong with this monster?" Peri finally asked, trying to change the topic.
