Nova Force Book 1

Chapter 69: Chapter Sixty- Nine

With that, the flaming red-eyes guy casually turned his back and walked away. The other guy did the same. I watched as they just walked on out.

"Why didn't I try to stop them? Miss Irene was an N5 and she wasn't a match for the one that seemed to be the underling. Maybe I made a smart move for now. Maybe if I didn't have to worry about her then I could test my skills on them." I aid.

While walking away both guys started talking. The underling wanted to know why they didn't fight. The Vampire of Brittaniac informed him that they would test the strength of the guy in masks before they eliminate him. He made his decision based on the purple eyes of the masked fellow.

Nova Zero carried now unconscious Miss Irene back to the City. Along his journey he couldn't stop but wonder who those two were and what he has meant by we already know what they are. This sparked multi memories.

Rome had always been a person who believed in conspiracy theories. He knew that the lies were easier to believe than the truth, and the truth is always there within the lies. So anything he saw on the media he always questioned. He would spend hours on the internet researching various topics that the "elites" deemed as crazy or lies. He had come across many cases involving children being kidnapped for their organs or to be used as blood sacrifice or to extract adrenachrome from their blood to make the elites live longer and look younger. But he had no proof of it was real. But some theories are plausible.

In one year In the USA approximately 460,000 children are reported missing each year and only about 1% of those children never return either they are found dead or they were never heard of again. That's still a high number. So Rome had a strong feeling that he just got himself involved in a kidnapping ring and it might be connected to the city based on the conversation between Miss Irene and them.

Miss Irene finally woke up on their way back to the City.
"Where am I?" She asked.

"Well we're on or way back to the City." I replied.

She immediately sprung up from my back landing on her feet. Looking around.
"Where are they!?" She shouted.

"They're gone. They basically turned their backs and walked away." I replied.

"I only remembered you charging in and grabbing me and then that was it." She said.
They both spoke, Zero informing her of what had transpired, and she explained how she got into a fight with them.

"He infiltrated the city and killed a few men. Some men from the Red Fox Gang." She said. "But to get into the city you need a pass to be issued but he had no pass. So how did he get in here I wondered. I followed silently until we reached near the edge of the barrier, but then he vanished." She continued.

"Interesting, so what happened afterwards??" I asked.
"After a few seconds of looking around he was on the other side of the barrier."

Everything Miss Irene stated seemed puzzling. They both came to a conclusion. The mysterious man had a way to slip in and out of the forest undetected and he might have gotten that information from someone in the city and the culprit might be someone living in the palace or maybe a high ranking guard.

"Do you think it's Konessàne?" I asked.

"To be honest I doubt it but I can't rule him out just yet. Can you help me with this?" She asked.

"Definitely. Something fishy is going on and I don't like it." I replied.

"But this will be our little secret ok." She said.

We arrived back in the city. We could hear noise from afar. I haven't been here a while but I am not sure a town should be this loud in the early morning.

"Bring him out!"

"He killed them! I know it! I saw them fighting in the guild"

Shouts came from angry people all over. Someone was killed. Maybe the guys from the Red fox gang. Even though they are criminals who maybe deserve it. The people are furious because it could have been one of them.

"It must be him. There has never been a killing in the city before!! As soon as those freaks got here, people started dying. It's all connected!" The angry Mob shouted.

There was someone trying to diffuse the situation.

"We can't jump to conclusions. He's not here at the moment, but as soon as he gets back, we will speak to him." Said a familiar voice. It was non other than Konessàne.

Immediately I knew who they wanted. It was me. I'm being framed for something I didn't do. I am really starting to hate this place and most of the people.

Elsewhere In the mansion

Durato and Laylah were deeply engrossed in their books, momentarily oblivious to the world outside their cozy room. Laylah broke the silence with a hint of concern in her voice. "I haven't seen Rome and Liger since last night," she murmured, her brow furrowing. "They must be out somewhere, having fun without us."
Durato, flipping a page absentmindedly, glanced up. "I expected Rome back by now," he agreed thoughtfully. "Probably training. He's always up early for that."
"Maybe we should plan something together," Durato suggested, a note of urgency creeping into his tone. "We can't keep living like we're constantly preparing for battle. We need a break."
Their conversation was abruptly interrupted by Tarif's frantic entrance, his breath ragged as he struggled to speak. "Guys, sorry to interrupt," he gasped, "but there's chaos outside. They're saying Zero's killed someone."
Without hesitation, Durato and Laylah dashed outside, hearts racing with worry, searching desperately for Rome. They arrived just in time to see him walking alongside Miss Irene, both adorned with ominous bloodstains.
"Look, there he is," Laylah exclaimed, pointing anxiously. "And isn't that Miss Irene with him?"
Durato nodded, his expression a mix of surprise and concern. "Yes, it is," he confirmed quietly. "They've been together all morning."
The crowd, already stirred by accusations of murder, grew even more agitated upon seeing Rome. Insults and accusations were hurled at him, a chaotic cacophony that threatened to escalate.
As Zero came into view, the atmosphere became charged with palpable tension. The crowd's anger turned palpable fear as shouts for justice or vengeance filled the air. Suddenly, a commanding voice cut through the chaos like a blade.
"You there!" A soldier's voice rang out, authoritative and stern. "Don't move. You're under arrest for murder. Any resistance will be met with force."
A figure draped in a striking blue and red cloak stepped forward, exuding an aura of formidable power. It was Nova Uno. Her presence alone silenced the once raucous mob, transforming them into a hushed assembly of fearful onlookers, as if facing an ancient force of darkness incarnate.
"Speak another word," Nova Uno's voice echoed coldly, "and you'll meet the same fate as those unfortunate souls."
Beside her, another figure emerged, clad in a cloak of black and blue. Nova Dos sneered with undisguised malice, his eyes flashing with a chilling intensity. "Think twice before you breathe," he warned, his voice a low growl that sent shivers through the crowd.
Nova Uno and Nova Dos stood united, their gazes piercing through the crowd like daggers. The soldiers, initially brimming with bravado, faltered in their resolve, their voices trembling as they attempted to maintain authority.
"We... we just need to question him," one soldier stammered nervously, his confidence waning in the face of such daunting adversaries.
The air thickened with an almost tangible sense of dread, the weight of impending judgment hanging heavily over the gathered throng. No one dared to challenge the silent menace that Nova Uno and Nova Dos emanated, their presence a harbinger of doom in this moment of uncertainty.
Suddenly, footsteps approached from behind, disrupting the eerie stillness that had settled over the scene.

The tension in the square had reached a breaking point, as the crowd, initially frenzied and emboldened, now quivered under the oppressive power of Nova Uno and Nova Dos. Fear hung in the air, thick and suffocating, as Rashford Ragnar—draped in his regal robe that gleamed like the night sky—made his entrance. His dark blue hair shimmered under the faint light, exuding an aura of authority so commanding that even the ground beneath him seemed to bow.
"Oh, how scary," Rashford said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, cutting through the fear like a knife. He strolled forward with casual grace, his eyes sweeping over the cowering crowd and soldiers. "I come back early to surprise you all, and I'm greeted with this... mess? So disappointing."
His presence was overwhelming. The moment his gaze met the people, they dropped to their knees without hesitation, as if compelled by an unseen force. It wasn't just respect or fear—it was reverence, a complete submission to the one they recognized as a higher power.
"My lord," the crowd murmured in unison, their voices trembling, their foreheads nearly touching the dirt.
Rashford waved them off with a simple flick of his wrist, his robes rippling with his movements. "No need for all that. Stand." His voice was calm but laced with a quiet, terrifying power that allowed no room for defiance.
As the people rose, trembling, Rashford's eyes locked onto Nova Uno, who still radiated her crimson energy, and then onto Konessàne. His gaze, though gentle, held a deadly edge.
He stepped forward, each stride radiating assurance, until he stood before Nova Uno, his eyes challenging her own. His body seemed to hum with restrained power as he locked gazes with her, feeling the violent pulse of her aura pressing against his. Yet, Rashford did not flinch.
Turning to Konessàne, Rashford's voice sliced through the oppressive air, sharp and unwavering. "What is this chaos about?" he demanded, his tone leaving no room for hesitation.
Konessàne stood firm, his posture straight despite the weight of Nova Uno and Nova Dos's overpowering auras pressing down on the atmosphere. His confidence was unshaken, a stark contrast to the crowd that cowered around them. He met Rashford's piercing gaze with calm composure and spoke with conviction, his words clear and steady.
"Several men were found slain, drained of blood—brutally," Konessàne began, his voice unwavering. "And Rome... he had a recent dispute with them. Naturally, the crowd is quick to assume—"
"They assume wrongly," Miss Irene interrupted, her voice carrying strength as she stepped forward, cutting off further conjecture. She stood tall, defiant, and despite the thick, suffocating tension that weighed down on everyone, her resolve was like iron. "Zero saved my life during the attack. The true culprits are still out there, and he fought to protect me." Her conviction rang like a bell in the silence, scattering the doubts that hovered like shadows over the crowd.
Rashford's keen eyes shifted to Zero, who stood guarded by the overwhelming presence of Nova Uno and Dos. His eyes narrowed, but it was something about Zero's aura that caught his attention.
Nova Uno's crimson aura was suffocating, pressing on the crowd like an invisible weight, making it hard to breathe. Nova Dos's blue energy coiled like a living void, pulling at the gound, there was even a slight shaking Yet, there was something deeper, something darker that Rashford could sense but not fully grasp.
Zero's aura wasn't like theirs—it was something far more terrifying. It was subtle, so subtle that it was almost invisible, like a dark whisper at the edge of reality. But Rashford could feel it gnawing at the fabric of the air itself, a presence that felt like it shouldn't exist, like the very concept of it was too much for the world to contain. His aura was incomprehensible, like staring into a void where logic and reason faltered.
It wasn't oppressive like Nova Uno's crimson malice, nor was it an all-consuming darkness like Dos's. Zero's presence was a vast nothingness, an unknowable force that lingered just beneath the surface, waiting. It didn't strike fear in the same way—it unsettled, disturbed, made those around him feel as though they were standing too close to a boundary they weren't meant to cross.
Rashford tilted his head slightly, as if trying to make sense of it, but the more he looked, the less he understood. Zero's power wasn't just darkness—it was the absence of everything. A place where even fear couldn't manifest because fear required something to grasp onto, and Zero's aura gave them nothing.
Then, Rashford saw it: the faintest flicker in Zero's eyes, a gleam like distant starlight in an endless night. There was power in those eyes, not the kind that crushed or consumed, but something deeper. It was potential—unseen, untapped, yet terrifying in its scope. Whatever Zero was, whatever he was capable of, it was far beyond the likes of Nova Uno and Dos. And perhaps even beyond Rashford's understanding.
The silence in the square was palpable, thick with anticipation and dread. The crowd was frozen, every breath labored under the weight of uncertainty. Even the soldiers, who had moments before stood ready to arrest Rome, now hesitated, their hands trembling slightly at their sides.
Zero remained still, his aura calm yet vast, as if it was content to wait, to observe.
"Miss Irene's words speak truth," Zero said, his voice a low, steady murmur that somehow resonated over the crowd. His words were simple, but they carried an authority that demanded attention. "I did not commit these murders. But if there is any doubt, we will settle this—properly." His purple eyes flashed once more, that brief gleam of something ancient and powerful swirling beneath their surface.
Rashford watched, his mind racing. Zero's calm unnerved him in ways even Nova Uno and Dos could not. He felt as though he was staring into an abyss that could swallow entire worlds without a trace.
Another thing that puzzled Rashford, as he observed Zero, was the strange creature resting atop his head—a tiger-like beast with fur as black as the void, its body rippling with a faint shimmer of ethereal energy. Despite the chaos around them, the creature lay there, undisturbed, its chest rising and falling with the slow rhythm of sleep.
It was a stark contrast to the violent energy that crackled in the air, Nova Force surging like a storm ready to tear through the earth. Yet, the beast didn't stir. Even as the very atmosphere seemed to warp under the immense power being unleashed, the tiger-like creature remained unbothered, lost in peaceful slumber.
There was something deeply unsettling about it. It wasn't just the calm, but the sense that this creature existed beyond the realm of normal understanding. It defied logic, as if it belonged to a plane of existence where even the overwhelming forces of Nova Uno and Dos were nothing more than background noise.
Rashford's breath caught in his throat as the realization settled over him like a lead weight. His eyes darted from Zero, standing calmly amidst the chaos, to Nova Uno and Dos, their menacing auras twisting the air, and finally to the enigmatic tiger-like creature, still asleep atop Zero's head. The quiet, eerie slumber of the beast seemed to mock the energy being unleashed around it—powerful, yet indifferent, as though the destruction all around was beneath its notice.
These three, with their incomprehensible power and strange, ancient companion, could annihilate the city in an instant. The thought sent a chill down his spine. Rashford wasn't easily shaken—he had faced enemies far and wide, survived battles that would break most men—but this was something else entirely.
He tried to fathom the scope of their power. Nova Uno's crimson malice alone was enough to suffocate even the most seasoned warriors. Dos's dark, consuming void could tear the very fabric of the battlefield apart. And Zero…Zero was an enigma, a force that defied understanding, his aura a silent void that pulled at reality itself. The beast resting on his head only deepened the mystery, its very presence implying a power so immense that it had no need to awaken, even as the Nova Force crackled around them.
Rashford swallowed hard, his mind racing. There was no arrogance in these three—only a cold, calculated control. If they wished it, they could level the entire city in mere moments, turn it to dust with nothing more than a flick of their hands. And that creature…it hadn't even stirred yet. What would happen when it did?

He had to tread lightly. One wrong word, one misstep, and they might decide to act on their destructive potential. Even though Zero had spoken with a calm certainty, there was something beneath the surface—a silent, dormant power waiting to be unleashed.
