Chapter 9

Episode 9

“Submissive Leather Armor

1,200 Armor

All resistances +10

All Skills +2

5% chance to fully armor.

5% chance to fully reflect.”

This item made some sense. It was a very good item. It seemed to have originally belonged to the Blood Emperor, who would normally drop these items at a certain rate, but now that there was an unseating event, it was assumed that killing the boss would drop all of his items.

I equipped the items, reminding myself that I needed to get the Leather Gloves of Submission. Of course, I didn’t wear the helmet. I didn’t feel the need to use it to ruin my hairstyle.

I just wanted to look good.

I opened the quest window. Master Quests had been added. Master Quests require you to go to the Temple of each class, and I realized that the Temple of the Sword was probably located in Swordsman’s City. Luckily, I already had the Return to Swordsman’s City scroll.

Naturally, after killing so many vampires, I had precious scrolls from almost every city in my inventory, many of them golden, and many of them navy or blue.

I decided to store them all in my warehouse and learn about each item.

First, to the City of Swords!

* * * *

The majority of the city was occupied by prosecutors. Since there were so many things for swordsmen, there were bound to be a lot of swordsmen.

The Master Quests for Prosecutors were all the same. There were three gateways, and all of them required defeating monsters. Of course, it gets harder as you go. The faster I beat the master quests, the better skills and items I received.

I bought tons of potions and emptied my inventory. I was all geared up and equipped with my Obedience set and minor items. Originally, I couldn’t use them because of my agility, but now I don’t have to worry about that. I entered the Swordsman’s Shrine.

In front of the Swordsman’s Shrine was a large statue of a sword. It was a celestial sword, said to be the first Sword Master. An NPC, of course. The Swordsman’s Shrine gave off a very overwhelming aura. Despite being overwhelming, the sculptures were elegant and noble. When I entered the Swordsman’s Shrine, an NPC greeted me.

“What brings you here?

It was Hector, guarding the Temple of the Swordsman. He was an excellent swordsman, and now he guards the Temple of the Swordsman. Of course, it was all on the website. The setup was so important that I had it almost memorized.

“I’m here to fulfill a master quest.”

“I see. Follow me.”

He took me to a large, empty room. It was too big to be called a room. It must have been at least 500 meters to the door in front of me. Perhaps this was the first gateway, and behind the door was the second.

“Be prepared. The end of the inspection is never easy. Let us begin, then.”

As Hector exited the room, the scenery changed, transforming into a cavern that emitted a terrifying amount of magic, and the monsters in front of him, at least twenty thousand of them.

The pressure of sheer numbers. I couldn’t see the end of their line, and I felt like I was being crushed by the energy they emitted.

“Khhhhh…….”

I laughed at the overwhelming number of monsters in front of me, but not because I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of them, because my head was spinning. There was only one reason I could laugh in such a hopeless situation: they were all undead.

From lowly Skeletons to Skeleton Warriors. Skeleton Legions, zombies, vampires, and even Skeleton Mages mixed in… all races that could be subjugated to me.

“You shall follow me!”

“Krrrr, King of Darkness…….”

They all followed, worshiping me. I, the Blood Emperor, have the worship and obedience of all monsters in the area. The capture event was fantastic.

Whoever said this game was hard was wrong!

The game turned out to be extremely difficult. It was the hardest to level up, the quests were too difficult compared to other VR games, and yet it was also the most popular game because it had the most complete world and was the most fun. I cursed them all. What an easy game.

“You have completed the first third of the Master Quest. You have the Master Skill Emperor’s Sword.”

“Emperor’s Sword: The Emperor’s Sword. The most overwhelming sword skill. A frenzy surrounds the sword, and the frenzy grows stronger with the amount of magic infused into it. Each swing of the sword deals interdimensional damage. However, it is very mana-consuming.”

“Is this a good skill?

I rarely spent skill points. No, I didn’t need to. So far, I’ve only spent 60 skill points to master Iron Skin, Dark Step, True Blood, and Sword mastery. Dark Step and True Blood were originally worth 10 points each, so I only needed to spend 10 points to master them. I had 40 skills left. So I invested them all in Emperor’s Sword.

That’s how I mastered the Emperor’s Sword. I had 20 skill points left. There was nothing else to do.

I took my Dark Legion and opened the giant door for the next gateway.

Thrrrr.

The giant doors opened, and this time I was greeted by giants. Giants of flame. Giants of frost. There were even boss-level Earth Giants. Their number was at least two thousand.

I could tell that the original operator had made the master quest extremely difficult. If I were an ordinary user, I would have a hard time defeating the undead legions in front of me.

Even if the Skeleton Mages all used fireballs, my HP would be at rock bottom. Of course, I could steal HP and mana, so it wouldn’t matter if I distributed my skills well, but I wouldn’t have the strength to take on the next wave of giants.

“Warriors and Skeletons, cover the Mages and Archers! Mages and Archers, attack in unison! Zombies, go up front and fight… Vampires, come in last!”

I directed the battle. I was glad I wasn’t the only one. Perhaps this quest wasn’t originally meant to kill all the monsters but to test my courage as a swordsman.

How could any man take on so many monsters… but I could.

The skeletons were crushed by the giants’ fists. But the Skeleton Warriors were able to block a blow or two. I fought hard in the center of the horde.

One by one, the giants were falling to the ground, and my HP and mana continued to fluctuate wildly. The giants’ fists were so powerful that my HP was quickly drained, only to be refilled by my sword’s optional absorption ability.

“Emperor’s Sword!”

I cast Emperor’s Sword. A frenzied wind swirled around my sword. It was too much to hold. I quickly swung it at the giants around me. The wind sucked the air out of the giants, preventing them from fleeing, and drew them closer to the sword.

The giants tried to flee in fear, but my skill overwhelmed their strength. Their flesh began to scatter in the wind as I lowered my sword.

“Isn’t this… too good?”

No matter how much mana was consumed, it was not diminished by the mana that automatically filled up. The sword-sensitizing gust of wind sucked in the monsters, preventing them from escaping, and sliced through all the flesh that my sword had split open, causing the flesh to spread and pop out with only minor wounds.

It was a very powerful technique, but also a very cruel one.

My blade twisted the intestines of several giants at once, and when I looked behind me, the Skeleton Warriors were nearly dead, and the vampires were taking down giants around me.

The vampires’ movements almost matched mine. Dizzyingly fast movement. Only a black afterimage remained. The slower giants couldn’t catch the vampires.

I spun around, casting Emperor’s Sword without moving. Each time I spun, the charging giants were torn apart without a care in the world… and the earth giants were no different.

Suddenly, the giants began to retreat. For some reason, I followed suit. The skeleton army was nearly wiped out, the zombie army was nowhere to be seen, but the vampire army was still intact. Perhaps it was because I was providing cover around them. My army seemed to have about six thousand of them left in total.

I was even more surprised than before. The remaining 500 or so giants began to merge into one. Arms, legs… heads, torsos… all of them began to form into giants. The left arm was formed by the flame giants, the right arm by the frost giants, and the torso and legs by the earth giants.

“Damn… I can’t even see their heads.

The flame and frost giants were three meters tall, and the earth giants were four meters tall, but when five hundred of them joined together, their heads were no longer visible. It was a monster that must have been at least two hundred meters long.

“Damn it… Vampires, follow me!”

I sped toward the behemoth. Up close, I could only see its feet. This was going to be a tricky situation. I sliced off one of the giant’s toes with my obedient Great Sword. It was very easy to cut off. Of course, the rest of the body was not so lucky…….

“Vampires, divide up into groups and take a section at a time! A thousand for the head, a thousand for the left arm, a thousand for the right arm, two thousand for the torso, and I’ll take the legs and anything below that!”

The vampires quickly deployed and began the battle. The creature was a sight to behold. It couldn’t move, but it couldn’t kill the vampires either. You can’t hit your own body with your arm, can you?

I cut off their toes one by one. It felt very cruel, but it gave me a sense of pleasure.

‘Hmmm… am I a pervert?’

I stared at my toe-less feet with a satisfied smile, even as I asked myself a very difficult question to answer.

“I am a wholesome Karen Nimidang!

I laughed, having answered a difficult question.

“But it’s funny!”
