No Return (Shadow Slave Fan-Fic)

Levi had made the decision to face the Dormant Beast head on , but he was still a mundane human. Levi had battled many people in order to survive , but never a Nightmare Creature. And This time he wasn't supposed to survive , he was supposed to kill.

As he looked at the abomination that was now drawing close , Levi tried to clear his mind out of everything , and only focus on one thing - Killing Intent. He was going to murder the creature , and he was going to enjoy it. After all he wanted to receive a memory!

Soon the Wolf-like abomination approached where Levi was at , and it suddenly stopped. The abomination stared at Levi , drooling like a real beast would do , its red eyes glowing with bloodlust. 

Levi opened his mouth to speak

"Come at-"

His words were suddenly cut off , the abomination decided had decided to leap at him , its jump traveled the river with ease , its jaw open to bite into Levi.

But luckily Levi had thrown himself sideways before the abomination had sank its teeth into his shoulder. He landed on the grass with a thud... the landing was a bit harsh so he had strained his arm quiet a bit. 

The abomination itself , had hit a tree because Levi had got out of the way in the last second. Its head was currently bleeding and it was dazed. Why was it this weak?

But Levi didn't waste any time on dwelling around the question , before he had thought about it , he had got up and leaped at the Abominations way , he had readied his Kodachi to thrust it into the dazed abominations head.

"Die!"

Of course... nothing ever goes as easy as this. The abomination immediately recovered before Levi stabbed its head. It leaped in Levi's way , avoiding the thrust of the Kodachi. The abomination opened its jaw as it leaped at Levi , to bite him. Before it could fully reach him , Levi got his arm in the way so instead of biting into his shoulder , the abomination bit into Levi's forearm.

As soon as the abomination bit into Levi's arm , pain clouded his judgement. His eyes widened in terror. His mind immediately went overdrive , feeling a deep sense of fear and... anger. He had become angry at himself for underestimating his enemy. Bravery is foolish—it only leads to death.

The world around him had slowed down , Levi was feeling many things. As the abominations teeth sank into his forearm , his arm that was holding his Kodachi suddenly leaped forward. 

Ignoring the searing pain, Levi drove the Kodachi through his own flesh, pushing it deep into the abomination's skull. Levi let out a beast-like scream as he pierced his own flesh. Warm blood gushed from the wound, soaking his sleeve in crimson.

Yes his arm was in a bad shape due to his recklessness. It has been bitten by the abomination , now it was pierced through by his Kodachi. But the abomination was in a worse shape. Because Levi has pierced its head and brain along the way , its body grew limp and it fell down. Levi also fell to his knees. 

Suddenly a familiar voice was heard in his ears.

{You have slain a Dormant Beast , Forest Dweller's Larva.}

Levi's eyes widened

"Larva..?"

That meant... That meant that there was an Awakened Tyrant in this forest. A feeling of dread filled his senses , but the spell was not done talking.

{You have received an Echo.}

When he heard that.. he didn't really feel anything. Even if echo's were rare That Dormant Beast was weak , he had killed it while being a mundane human. It was not going to help against an Awakened Tyrant.. He was feeling many things.. and hope wasn't one of them anymore.

But his attention was shifted to his wound. Gritting his teeth, he wrenched the Kodachi free, sending a fresh wave of agony up his arm. He sheathed his kodachi , and walked to the backpack at the ground with heavy steps. He opened it and pulled out the spare tunic , he ripped a part of it apart , and carefully tied it around his forearm. 

He was in pain and he was exhausted. Additionally he was now not feeling happy that there was an Awakened Tyrant around.. He leaned on a nearby tree , sitting on the ground. He wanted to rest.
