No Return (Shadow Slave Fan-Fic)

Levi was ready.. he was waiting readily for the creature to show itself.

He had already touched himself with the [Corrosion] , his veins had took a black color , and since this time he was naked.. Levi looked quiet ominous.. the black veins pulsed , as if they were living beings.. He had also summoned [Pale Thorn] , and used his attribute to imbue it with his right arm.

It was not long before the creature came out from the corner , and immediately turned his ugly face in the direction of Levi. 

Levi was shaking.. it was going to be his second time facing a nightmare creature.. but... 

The Nightmare Creature was about two and a half meters tall, looking like a weird mix of a demonic crab, a centaur, and a nightmare.

It had four pairs of long, segmented legs that ended in scythe-like protrusions. At the front, a human-like torso was protruding from the carapace, also clad in thick chitinous armor. The head, if it was even the appropriate word, was situated directly on top of the torso, with no neck in between. It had two narrow eye slits and a viscous-looking mouth with several slimy mandibles. Instead of hands, the monsters had two enormous pincers.

The Creature looked at him with malice and hunger. The creature fortunately was slightly injured.. It had a big cut on its torso. However that would not mean it would be an easy fight..

As Levi was in deep thought , the monster was already leaping forward.

Appearing right in front of Levi with its towering height , a pincer shot towards Levi's chest , cutting through the air with high speed.

Levi immediately got his Right arm in the way of the pincer , his arms wasn't mundane , it had the qualities of a Memory. So as the pincer collided with his right arm , it slid off of Levi's arm , losing its balance , monster fell onto one knee , and supported himself with the pincer to not fall onto the ground.

It seemed the monster was not waiting Levi to have such a sturdy arm..

The Creatures head was out in the open , and Levi could strike it again. However... when the pincer had collided with his arm , Levi had also lost his balance from the collision , and had fell awkwardly on his back. It seemed he hadn't been able to take the force of the collision very well , it was a miscalculation on his part..

The monster had regained its balance and was ready to attack , as the realization his Levi he immediately rolled to his side , and after just a second a monstrous pincer shot through the air , sending small tremors through the mud.

Levi immediately got up , but as he was getting up a pincer was already sweeping against him. He put his right arm in the way of the swing , and balanced his legs to take the collision better this time. 

Luckily he was able to absorb the blow this time , but he was still forced to take a step back.. but that did not matter..

Because Levi's left hand was already shooting forward to grasp the pincer of the monster. Grabbing the pincer with all his might , he immediately activated his [Corrosion] ability. 

The decay immediately spread and turned its pincer into dust almost immediately , also damaging the arm of the monster. The monster let out a hateful shriek , glaring at Levi with a hateful gaze,

Levi had also learned a new information about his Dormant Ability. The stronger his grip is , the stronger and faster the decay will spread.

The ugly creature was not wasting any seconds, it was already swinging it's other pincers at Levi to make him let go of his hold on its arm. 

Levi smiled darkly , he immediately let go of the arm , and shot forward , closing in the distance between them and avoiding the pincers. Levi's gaze was set on the monsters leg , his eyes glistening with killing intent. He clenched his right fist tightly.

Without wasting any seconds , Levi's right arm swept against the ugly leg of the creature , it shot through the air , connecting with the leg of the monster and.. his arm easily tore of its leg similar to how a sword would have done it. The monster let out another scream , its shriek filling Levi's mind with a sense of excitement. 

He was going to kill this bastard!

After having its leg torn off , the monster lost its balance and fell onto the side it had lost its leg , supporting itself with its pincers. While the monster was trying to regain its balance , it hadn't realized that it's life was in danger.. it's life was in danger because.. now that it had bended a bit down.. its head was within Levi's reach.

Realizing this , the monster immediately shot a pincer towards Levi , it flowed through the air.. and connected with Levi's torso , it had left a deep cut on his torso , the wound extending from his shoulder to his abs..

But Levi never let out a scream , he was slightly pained.. but he smiled at the monster , it was an eerie smile that would give any human the creeps. Instead of being sincere , it was filled with killing intent.

Ignoring the wound on his chest.. the young man's right arm shot toward the monster's head.

It was not a mundane punch. It was a punch of a person who had experience and technique that they had developed during their lives in the streets. Additionally.. enchanted by a Divine Aspect and a powerful memory that specializes in thrusting.. Levi's arm pierced through the monsters head with ease. Staining his arm full of blood as he retreated it from the monsters head and immediately jumped back.

The monster stood for a few seconds.. and then it finally grew limp and fell down.

[You have slain an awakened beast , Carapace Scavenger.]

Levi clenched his fists and let out a monstrous shriek , announcing his victory loudly ,not caring if any monsters were nearby.

Levi was sitting on his knees on the mud. His big cut on his torso was dripping with blood , staining his body. He had a big grin on his face. Even if it was not much , he had killed an Awakened Beast while being a Sleeper himself. He felt a bit proud of himself. But he was a bit sad that he hadn't received any memories. 

He looked at the Scavenger. Now it was time for him to harvest some Soul shards and some skin...

He summoned the [Pale Thorn] out from his arm. He got up and walked on top of the scavenger.

After a gruesome process , he finally had harvested its soul shard and absorbed it. He felt a bit stronger.. but it was only just a bit. 

He had also skinned the poor beast and even harvested some of its bones.. He had become very proficient in sewing.. he so was going to put his skills to use..

But of course.. not here.. He gathered whatever skin he had got from the Scavenger and the bones. He traveled back to the slope he had come from , and luckily did not meet any threats along the way.
