Chapter 236: Chapter 236: You’re Nothing More Than the Commander’s Plaything
Inside the room.
"You can leave now."
Surprisingly, Rapi did not react as Indivilia had expected. She neither erupted in anger nor acted like the other Nikkes, who were eager to execute her. Instead, she remained eerily calm and composed, as if completely unaffected by the situation.
Indivilia found her lack of reaction intriguing.
"You must be the Commander's girlfriend, right?" Indivilia asked with a playful smile, her gaze lingering on the stunningly beautiful girl before her. Secretly, she curled her lips into a seductive smirk. "Apologies for meeting under such circumstances."
Rapi's expression remained placid, her gaze as still as an undisturbed lake.
Seeing that her words had no effect, Indivilia sneered internally and decided to push further, feigning a pitiful tone.
"The pregnancy… it wasn't something the Commander forced onto me. He didn't make me do anything, and it has nothing to do with him. Please don't blame him. If this has caused any misunderstanding between you two, I sincerely apologize."
Her words were technically the truth, but the way she framed them made them sound entirely different.
"You should leave."
Rapi's voice remained even. "If you don't go now, you won't be able to leave when the rest of the squads find you."
Indivilia was taken aback by the complete lack of reaction.
By normal human standards, wouldn't someone lose their temper if their partner had cheated on them? Wouldn't they become irrational with rage?
But Rapi—she was acting as if nothing had happened.
"Aren't you angry?"
Rapi calmly responded with a question of her own.
"Why would I be?"
Indivilia was momentarily at a loss for words.
Was there something wrong with this Nikke's head?
Then, Rapi continued, her tone as steady as ever.
"All he did was make you pregnant. He doesn't love you. You're nothing more than a tool for the Commander to relieve himself with. Why should I be upset over a tool?"
The words cut deep.
Indivilia's face darkened instantly.
This woman—she didn't even see her as a threat!
Rapi's cold eyes remained locked onto Indivilia, silently conveying her complete indifference.
"Go."
With that, Rapi turned and left.
Indivilia sat there, her expression shifting between anger and humiliation.
No one had ever looked down on her like this.
Her pride was immense, and this kind of insult burned deep.
A bitter resentment swelled inside her.
She seethed with rage, her mind already spinning with plans—one day, she would make them all suffer.
Then, an idea struck her.
If they dared to look down on her, she would make them pay.
A sly smile crept onto her lips, curving with both seduction and malice. Her crimson lips, painted perfectly, only emphasized her bewitching allure.
She would take the Commander for herself.
She would control his mind.
She would make him hers—body and soul.
And when he finally knelt before her, she would make sure he cast Rapi aside like worthless trash.
She would make that arrogant woman regret ever daring to belittle her.
However—
Just as she was reveling in her scheming, Rapi suddenly returned.
Indivilia's eyes widened in surprise as the girl calmly walked back toward her, stopping right in front of her.
Expressionless, Rapi raised her handgun and aimed it directly at Indivilia's forehead.
"…I guess I can't forgive you after all."
Meanwhile, just outside the room, Anis and Neon were pressing their ears against the wall.
"Hey, stop pushing me."
"No one's pushing you, you're just fat."
"Hey, hey, that's rude! This is called being sexy. Flat-chested twig, get lost."
"Who are you calling a twig?"
Anis and Neon bickered as they squeezed together, tiptoeing to peek inside.
They were both the type to enjoy a good drama, eagerly waiting to watch things unfold.
Suddenly, the sound of a gunshot rang out from inside the room.
Both of them jumped in fright.
"Did something happen?"
They exchanged nervous glances.
Then, Rapi walked out expressionlessly, holstering her gun.
"The Heretic has been executed."
"Huh?"
Anis and Neon froze, dumbfounded.
"Just like that? You just killed her?"
"What else?"
That was a Heretic!
Rapi was ruthless.
"Let's go."
As they were about to leave, Rapi suddenly stopped and turned her gaze toward Anis and Neon, staring at them intently before silently walking away.
A chill ran down their spines.
Anis and Neon looked at each other, suddenly feeling uneasy.
Had Rapi figured something out?
Their nerves were on edge.
They silently agreed: maybe now wasn't the best time to have the Commander's child.
Inside the room.
Indivilia slumped against the wall, a bullet wound in her chest. It wasn't deep—just a suppressor round, not a lethal shot. With her Heretic-level regeneration, she would heal in no time.
She gritted her teeth, seething with hatred.
She recalled how, just moments ago, Rapi had pointed a gun at her and warned her, "Stay away from the Commander, or I'll kill you."
How ridiculous. When had she ever fallen so low that a mere Nikke could threaten her?!
Staggering to her feet, Indivilia leaned against the cracked walls, limping out of the room. Her figure slowly disappeared into the vast, desolate wilderness.
She burned this humiliation into her memory.
She swore to make those Nikkes, and that so-called Commander, pay dearly for this!
Mo Chen, however, wasn't the least bit worried about Indivilia. Not only did she have an absurdly high regeneration ability, but in the original timeline, she had been killed countless times and still survived.
Even if she did die, the virus remained, ready to find another host to incubate in.
Right now, Mo Chen had bigger problems to deal with.
The Matis Squad and Cafe Sweety Squad were in a dangerous state. Though suppressor rounds had been used to subdue them, the infection hadn't been removed. Once they regained mobility, there was a high chance they would turn hostile and attack the people around them.
If that happened, it wouldn't just be a few casualties—it could spark a full-blown outbreak.
This was the kind of disaster straight out of a zombie movie.
If the virus spread to the Ark, with its millions—possibly tens of millions—of residents, it would be the perfect breeding ground for an epidemic. In no time, the entire place would become a living hell.
Mo Chen's priority was to prevent that from happening.
On their way back, the advance team discovered an abandoned building. Judging from the exterior, it was an old villa that had been deserted for a long time. Weeds had overtaken the grounds, but the structure itself was still intact.
Inside, the furniture, decorations, and appliances were all still in place. It looked like it had once been set up as a shelter. No one knew why it had been abandoned, but everything inside was still functional.
Mo Chen ordered Anis and the others to transfer the infected members of the Matis and Cafe Sweety Squads into a large room.
Then, he strictly warned them:
"No matter what happens inside, no matter what sounds you hear, do not go in."
And to be safe, he had them all move far away from the building.
