Fuckin' bitch-ass shitty fuckin' stupid-ass game-

A flurry of curses went through Gray's head as he tensed his body, watching as Turles' body started to twitch and bulge from eating the fruit.

If he gets a 10x boost like I did, then he'll be around 12 trillion in power level. That's 4x mine - I don't know if I can close that gap, even if my skills are a lot higher level now.

For Gray to beat the other Saiyan now, he'd need to thoroughly outskill him.

Fuck, I still don't know what this 'method' to eat the fruit safely is! I could try to give one to Caulifla and Tatsumaki, but…

If Caulifla and Tatsumaki both ate a fruit, then the battle would at least be a bit fairer. Caulifla would shoot up to 870 billion - not a strength capable of beating Turles, but at least enough to help out - and Tatsumaki would each 450 billion. 

With her long-range support, we could protect her and tag-team him. It'd be doable, but the risk is too high.

The problem with that plan was the apparently deadly nature of the fruit, at least from Turles' words. Gray could buy another [Enhanced Senzu Bean] for both of them, but they'd be helpless as their body's strength-increasing took place.

I'd have to protect them until it finishes and they eat the bean. In that state, Turles would be able to kill either of them with just one attack.

It was a risk Gray wasn't sure he wanted to take, but it might be his only option.

"GREAHHHHHH!" Gray was pulled out of his thoughts as Turles screamed loudly, the sound coming out as a roar as his body continued to bulge and twitch. His arms expanded as his muscles became bigger, and his overall ape body looked more muscular.

But, I at least won't just stand here like a moron!

Gray's Saiyan body protested against the cheap shot, but he wasn't in a position to be prideful. He cupped his hands at his side, quickly channeling Ki through his arms and into his palms.

I'll rack up some damage while he's distracted by his body's transformation.

If Gray was lucky, Turles would still be experiencing the same pain he had been, despite the 'method' he had mentioned. Even if the other Saiyan wasn't, he at least wouldn't be able to avoid the attack.

A small black orb formed between Gray's palms, pulsing as the air around him started to grow thick. Small jolts of electricity flashed outward from the pure power in the ball, and Gray didn't waste too much time charging up the attack, as he didn't want Turles to have time to recover and react.

Despite not spending much time shoving Ki into his attack, the massive ball was still far stronger than any attack he'd ever used before. The combination of his Ozaru's power boost and the fruit's power boost made the black orb look absolutely deadly.

He slammed his arms forward, launching a massive beam of pure-black Ki at Turles' twitching and expanding body. Gray's [Kokuyo] hurtled toward Turles, sending lightning coursing through the air as it sought to blast through the large ape.

But, as it grew closer to Turles, the other Saiyan's lips twitched up in a grin.

"You have no pride! Are you truly a Saiyan?!" He roared, and his arms flung outward. As his arms were opened wide, looking almost as if he was about to give someone a hug, a burst of pure-black energy, which somehow managed to be even darker than Gray's attack, was flung outward in a circle around him.

That doesn't look good,

As the large sphere of Ki shot out from Turles, Gray's eyes narrowed. He could sense the ball even as he saw it, but it didn't feel like a usual Ki-technique.

It feels… evil? Can Ki even be evil?

Gray didn't know how it was possible, but the sphere of Ki felt even more deadly than a usual technique. Instead of a ball of pure fiery energy, this sphere looked as if it was trying to destroy everything in its path - including Gray and his technique.

It slammed into his [Kokuyo], effortlessly overpowering the beam as it shoved it back toward Gray. Gray grunted, deciding not to try and pour more power into the beam to overpower the sphere and shot backward, avoiding the massive ball as it expanded outward dozens of feet in each direction, and then abruptly disappeared as it dissipated into the air. Just as quickly as it had appeared, the dangerous sphere was gone.

Was that the 'method' he kept mentioning?

As Gray looked at Turles, whose body was no longer powering up as his muscles had stopped bulging and expanding, he assumed as much.

What the hell did he do? 

It looked like the man had somehow expelled part of the energy that was inside the fruit, but it was unlike any energy Gray had ever seen before.

Wait, if he expelled it, then… observe.

Gray's thoughts were quickly confirmed to be true as he looked at Turles' new power level.

He didn't get the full boost! He has a way to dispel that energy that came from the fruit, but in return, he didn't get a boost from it.

Gray couldn't be sure, but he made the quick assumption that the negative side effects from the fruit probably came from the Tree of Might being planted on Monas. As opposed to Earth, which in the movie had housed the Tree of Might, Monas had a much different pool of energy to pull from. Instead of flourishing forests, Monas had dark swamps and the corpses of perpetually fighting monsters for the Tree of Might to leech off of.

But, I was getting fucked because I was evolving too quickly, right? Did I evolve too quickly because I absorbed the shitty energy from the fruit, or would that have happened even it was planted on Earth?

Gray still didn't fully understand what was going on with the fruits, but he didn't have the time to think through it right now.

All that matters is that he didn't power up as much as I did. I got a 10x boost, and he got around a 5x.

Gray's lips twitched upward, his adrenaline starting to pump through his body again. His heart pounded even quicker than before as his excitement grew. The difference between facing someone twice as strong as him compared to someone four times as strong was huge, and the fight suddenly seemed winnable.

He's still double my power level, so I'll need to fight smart, but I can do this.

"Speechless from my new power?" Turles asked, his ape-mouth smirking as he stared down Gray's silent, thinking form, "Don't worry, there is no shame in dying to someone as powerful as I! With the Tree of Might at my disposal, the whole universe will soon be mine!"

So cliche.

"Just speechless that you think this is enough to take me down," Gray shot back, grinning widely as he shifted into his fighting stance, "If you got another one of those things stuck in your ass, you better eat it now, because I'm about to beat the hell outta you."

But, I really hope he doesn't.

Gray didn't give the man a chance to whip another fruit out of his ass, instead shooting forward as he focused on the fight. He raised a Ki-coated first, blasting directly toward Turles' face with his arm cocked back.

"You seem so slow now!" Turles smirked, also shooting forward as he was moving far faster than Gray. 

He's a lot faster now, but he can't do this.

Gray disappeared as he got close to Turles, causing the Saiyan's eyes to widen as he used [Instant Transmission] to appear behind him. His fist slammed down into Turles from behind, catching the man off guard and making contact with the back of his head.

Fuck, that's it?!

Gray was silently annoyed as his Ki-coated blow did far less than before Turles had eaten the fruit, and the man's HP had gone up a shit-ton as well. 

Unless I want to be here for the next decade, I'll need to hit him with a [Kokuyo] or catch him off guard with a few Ki-bullets.

If Gray just tried to whittle the man down with his fists, then he would be getting nowhere. He simply wasn't doing enough damage, and that was evident as Turles wasn't sent hurtling down to the ground below from the blow, instead just looking annoyed as he retaliated.

He spun around, his fist barreling upwards, and Gray barely managed to dodge the fast-moving punch. That 'barely dodge' became 'not at all' as Turles followed it up with another lightning-fast punch, moving quicker than Gray could hope to match. He barely managed to get his guard up to absorb some of the damage, but he still gritted his teeth from the impact.

Gray hissed as he was sent sliding backwards in the air from the force of the punch, but his lips twitched upward at the first notification. [Reflect] had leveled up a ton from Gray's evolution progress, and as a result, had sent a lot of damage back at Turles. The man definitely felt it too, as he jerked back with a grunt, which gave Gray an opportunity to back up and create space between them.

But that's still not fuckin' good.

Gray's direct hit with a Ki-coated punch had overall done less to Turles than the other Saiyans' fully-guarded non-coated punch had done to him.

This is really going to be tough-

"GRAH!" Gray blinked, watching in surprise as Turles suddenly reached down, clutching at his chest. He leaned forward, abruptly spitting out a glob of blood as he coughed. His chest started to twitch, his muscles bulging lightly as his pecs enlarged a bit. It looked different from his earlier power boost, as instead of proportionally growing bigger, his pecs were jutting outward like tumors.

The fuck? 

Gray's eyes widened as he used [Observe] again, not getting a notification as he didn't deal the damage, but noticing that the other Saiyan's HP dropped by 5 million.

Did he fuck up dispelling that energy earlier? Did interrupting him during the power boost actually work?

"D-Damn it, I didn't wait long enough…" Turles spat out, apparently being kind enough to mutter to himself the exact explanation Gray wanted as he wiped blood off his mouth.

No, it wasn't that technique he did earlier. His body is starting to fight back against him because he ate a fruit too soon after the last one!

The one downside that came with the Tree of Might, which was barely a downside considering the upside was a huge supply of 10x-power-granting fruits, was that you couldn't consume multiple fruits within too short of a time frame. If someone did so, their body wouldn't be able to handle the energy.

Like mine couldn't earlier!

Gray's eyes widened slightly at it suddenly made sense. The fruits on Monas had a lot more energy stored within them compared to if the Tree of Might were planted on a less-powerful planet like Earth, and as a result, had evolved him further than his body could handle.

Turles knows how to dispel that energy, which lets him consume the fruit and get a typical power boost, not the extra-boosted one that comes with the Tree of Might being on Monas that I got.

But, where Turles had fucked up, was not dispelling all of the energy in the last fruit he ate. Even if he cut out half the power in each fruit, thus making it manageable for his body, he still had to abide by the time frame. He had essentially eaten two half-fruits.

Two halves still make a whole. His body probably recovered a bit from the last fruit he ate, so it won't be as bad as what was happening to me, but he'll still be getting fucked.

Gray's lips twitched upward, his eyes narrowing as he watched Turles look down at his body uncertainly. His pecs were still bulging, and Turles looked a bit off balance as he winced in pain.

Dumbass. 

A fire lit in Gray's eyes as he grinned widely, suddenly much more confident that this fight would end in his favor, even with the odds having been stacked against him.

You just fucked yourself.
