Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Big Bad Wolf
Band of Wolves Arc: Part 1
The night sky sparkled with stars as Raz lay on the ground, staring at the heavens. Her expression was unreadable, but her voice carried the weight of sorrow.
"I can't believe this," she murmured.
"What?" Akira asked
"I rebelled against my father and ran away," she began, her voice trembling. "He killed my mother… and now he was going to kill me. I can't love him anymore."
"Yeah, that's why you should love me instead," Akira said with a hopeful grin.
"What?" Raz barked. "Idiot, I don't love you!"
Before Akira could respond, Raz's voice took on a sharper edge. "I tricked you and killed you. I captured your soul and wanted to give it to…" Her words faltered, and her fierce demeanor softened momentarily.
"I don't know how this happened," she said, her tone quieter now, "but I'm happy we're together."
Akira, wrapped his arms around himself in a self-satisfied cuddle. "See? That's the spirit!"
"Hey, stop that!" Raz protested, squirming uncomfortably. "Just because you're inside me doesn't mean you get to act like this is a happy ending. And don't forget—we're in trouble." Her voice dropped. "My father… Asura… will come for us."
Raz sighed, her gaze distant as she began to explain. "God created Asura, the first Overseer. He was meant to create, but something went wrong. Asura lacked emotions. He was never happy or sad—he felt nothing. God saw this as a fault and discarded him, throwing him into a great pit.
"For the first time, Asura discovered an emotion: rage. Rage against God. Rage against anything that felt. His power to create twisted into a power to destroy. He transformed the pit into the Asur Realm, where he became the king we know today."
Raz's voice grew somber. "He waged wars against God and the other Overseers, but he lost and was sealed in his realm."
"That's intense," Akira said, his tone awed. "But… how did we end up like this? The gray guy said we formed a bond?"
Raz rolled her eyes. "As Wisp said, bonds can't be explained. They just happen between different entities."
Akira blushed. "Maybe it's because of… the love we share?"
"No," Raz snapped. "It's not some 'internal love' nonsense! I told you, bonds don't work like that."
Before she could continue, her stomach growled loudly. She turned away, her cheeks flushing.
Akira chuckled. "Hungry? Don't worry, me too."
"Let's just find some food," Raz muttered, embarrassed.
They trudged through the forest, their shared body moving awkwardly. When they reached the storage sheds, Raz froze, her eyes narrowing.
"Look," she whispered, pointing toward a pen of sheep. "Let's eat one."
"What? No way!" Akira exclaimed, horrified.
Raz's mouth watered, and her tongue darted out. "Come on, just one. They won't even notice."
"Absolutely not!" Akira snapped, steering their body away. But Raz fought him, their movements turning into a comical shuffle.
Finally, Akira's will prevailed. "Fine," Raz huffed, glaring at a pile of crops instead. "But you're making me eat wheat. I hope you choke on the irony."
As they ate, Raz grimaced at the taste. "This is awful," she barked, glaring at the grain.
"Well, I'm not even sure I need to eat," Akira admitted. "I'm just a soul inside you, after all."
Raz groaned and lay down. "I'm done. Don't wake me up."
Akira sighed. "Fine, lazybones."
"that time I also fell asleep, Raz got out of control. Sorry for What Raz did with your sheep" Akira said
"hey!" Raz shouted
"Don't blame me, I am an Asur after all"
"Yeah, you are an Asur, princess pout," Akira said
"What did you say?" Raz shouted
Mel laughs at their Conversation
"you two are so funny," She said
Well wait here I will bring some food
Grandma said she made some pork
"pork!" Raz's mouth started watering
"behave yourself," Akira said
Mel smiles at them and leaves the shed
As she crossed the yard, she froze, her eyes wide with horror.
One of her sheep lay dead, blood staining its wool.
"What!" she said and ran towards the dead sheep
A massive gray wolf stood over another sheep, feasting. The rest of the flock cowered in silence, too terrified to make a sound.
"You!" Mel screamed, rage overtaking her fear. She charged the wolf, but it swatted her aside effortlessly. Mel fell to the ground, blood trickling from a slash on her cheek.
The wolf leaped at her, jaws wide. Before it could strike, a figure appeared between them. Akira, caught the wolf mid-air, holding its massive paws.
"Whoa!" Akira exclaimed, surprised by his own strength. "I could never do this back in my world."
Mel stared, unable to comprehend what she was seeing. "Who are you?"
"It's me, Akira!" he said with a grin.
"Idiot! She'll never understand that right now," Raz snapped.
Distracted by their argument, Akira failed to notice the wolf preparing another attack. It lunged at him, snarling, but Akira punched it in the chest with a fiery blue fist. The wolf yelped and scrambled away.
"No, you don't!" Akira shouted, hurling a fireball at the fleeing creature. His aim was off, and the fireball struck the sheep shed, igniting it.
"Oh no! What have I done?" Akira cried.
"Help me fetch water!" Mel shouted, pointing to a nearby well.
Before they could move, a calm voice rang out. "Rain, pour."
Water bubbles floated through the air and burst over the flames, dousing the fire. Akira and Mel stared in awe, the mysterious figure stepping into view.
