New life with a sci-fi system

The X-men seemed tense but waiting for answers about the future and would have insisted on hearing about the future the same time as us if not for Destiny. Destiny made it clear that she would only speak with them after we had our private meeting not before. What nobody noticed or possibly ignored was how her eyes lingered on Nightcrawler. Most probably assumed that it was because of his appearance but I knew that it was because he was her son.

Mystique was none the wiser as her memories were rewritten by Charles as she couldn't deal with the loss of her son. As if that wasn't enough his unknowing sister was only a few feet away and on the same team. As I said before most people wouldn't notice the subtle things going on and considering the big issues they probably would have ignored it. I saw Logan and Laura both start looking around the room or should I say at three particular individuals.

Laura: Why do both of you smell like his family?

That was all it needed for everyone in the room to look at Raven and Irene then back at Kurt who seemed just as surprised. I don't think Logan would have let it go but he would have waited to bring it up or at least pulled Kurt aside to let him know. Irene looking right at me I gently touched her mind not to read anything just to talk but she seemed to expect it so before I could ask...

Irene: 'Tell them I'm not strong enough to do it myself'

I simply nod which didn't go unnoticed to everyone their heavy stares now focused on me.

"The reason is simple and obvious Mystique and Destiny are the biological father and mother of Kurt Wagner"

Harley: That better not be the whole explanation!

"Fine, Anna Marie is their adoptive daughter and therefore Kurt's sister"

Anna Marie: OH shit, he is right!

Kurt:So they only wanted a child that looked normal...

Emma: Julian I know that you are enjoying their reactions but could stop bread crumbing and give us the whole explanation

"Fine, fine..."

I go into detail from Kurt's conception to how they were separated omitting Destiny's involvement. I even went into detail how Mystique was overcome with grief and had Charles Xavier remove the memories because she couldn't handle the loss. I also emphasized that as the one to remove Mystique's memories he should have known who Kurt was immediately given his distinct features. This sent a wave of discontent through the X-men but obviously someone could not and wouldn't tolerate it.

Cyclops: This is bullshit you do this every chance you get! All you want to do is turn us against the professor by making up lies against him. You know what I think,...?!

Storm: Cyclops...

Cyclops: ...I think that Mystique abandoned Kurt and this MOTHER FUCKER twisted the narrative to make seems like she's a victim to spread his toxic bull shit! She is a well-known manipulator so of course she'd just leap at the chance to recruit Kurt now that his powers are useful and it comes with the added bonus of hurting the professor's image and our...!

Logan: Will you shut the FUCK UP! In case you haven't noticed the only hurting anyone right now is YOU! Kurt didn't deserve you tearing him down to satisfy your own self-righteousness!

This absolutely better than I could have hoped for! The X-men were essentially shattered and sure I was just trying to plant doubts but the way Cyclops tore into Kurt pure poetry. He was so concerned with defending the professor that he essentially alienated Kurt and possibly the rest of the X-men. Now Kurt will always wonder if the only reason he was allowed to join the X-men was because he was strategically useful.

He didn't even debunk what I said as it would be easy to prove simply by asking Charles. As soon as Charles knew that Irene was alive he would admit about what happened. If pressed about knowing of Kurt's heritage Charles would say something to effect that he suspected. The truth would cut deeper than any lie ever could especially when it came from Charles's own mouth.

The revelation seemed to draw lines within the X-men and unfortunately for cyclops any good will they had for him evaporated. His attack dog mentality hurt not only his image but also Charles's image as a benevolent leader. I didn't even get to the part of how Charles used Cyclops's brother's team to rescue him and the core team. After they freed them they were trapped and a few died in the process but that wasn't all. The X-men wanted to go back and save them but Charles erased them from their memories including the incident about the island. Would I reveal this maybe, or maybe not I don't know but for now I'll just sit on this information. Finally being a comic (nerd) enthusiasts is paying dividends.
