73 – First Client
=Sunday, The Gym=
The weekend had been rather uneventful. Aside from school, Dave had been focusing on his martial arts training and his apprenticeship.
A few hours into his apprenticeship shift he had been called into the office by management.
He sat across the desk of one of the gym’s managers.
The manager smiled. “Good to see you Dave,” he said
Dave nodded slowly. “You too,” he said.
The manager opened a folder on his desk. “So you’ve been on your apprenticeship for two weeks and according to the other personal trainers you’ve made amazing progress,” he said.
Dave stared at him curiously.
“Given your excellent performance and the appearance of a new potential client we have decided to speed things up and make you a full personal trainer. If you’re comfortable with that of course,” the manager said.
Dave nodded eagerly. “I-of course I accept,” he said quickly.
The manager’s smile widened. “Great! That works out perfectly as the potential client is already here. It’s up to you whether you can convince her to accept you as her personal trainer though. Let me bring her to the office,” he said.
The manager left returning just a few minutes later with a middle aged lady.
She was on the slightly older side, if he were to guess somewhere in her mid thirties or maybe late thirties depending on how well she had taken care of herself over the years. Though there were some marks left by time they were all still relatively light. She was on the slightly thicker side with a little extra fat, but her breasts and ass were equally thick. Not enough to be considered fat though and something a couple of months of moderate exercise could easily fix. She had long wavy red hair down past her shoulders.
She was wearing tight black yoga pants that showed off her legs and ass, but wore a looser blue shirt on top for a rather casual look.
He pulled up the system analysis.
[Name: Sophia Jones]
[Age: 44]
[Relationship Status: Married]
[Abilities:]
[Enhanced Collagen]
He had to take another look at her. 'Oh wow! She looks really good for 44. She's almost a decade older than I thought she might be. How much is the result of her ability or is she just really good at make up?' He wondered.
The manager smiled. "Mrs. Jones. I just wanted to introduce you to one of out new personal trainers, Dave Stiersen. He only just joined and finished his apprenticeship, but he stood out amongst his peers being the first to get out of his apprenticeship. I think he'll really be able to help you," he said.
Dave stood up quickly and shook her hand. "Hello Mrs. Jones. So nice to meet you," he said.
He was feeling a little nervous, but gave her his best smile. She was potentially his first client after all. If she didn't agree to working with him who knows how long it would take for the next possible client to show up.
She smiled. "Nice to meet you too Dave," she said.
He sighed which caused her smile to widen. "No need to be so worried," she said.
He scratched the back of his head. "Was it that obvious?" He asked with an awkward smile.
She nodded. "Yes, but it's kind of cute," she said.
The manager looked between the two of them. "How about you give Mrs. Jones a tour of the facilities so you two can get to know one a little better before making a decision," he said.
"Oh! That sounds delightful," she said.
Dave nodded.
The manager clapped his hands. "Perfect," he said before leading them out of his office.
Dave took his time showing her around the cafe area and various halls and classroom facilities the gym offered its members answering any questions she had.
"So what brought on your interest in joining our gym?" He asked.
She sighed. "Our youngest recently moved out to attend college. I thought if might be good to put all the extra time to a good use and get back in better shape. I'm not getting any younger after all," she said.
He smiled. "Not at all. I would never have guessed you'd have kids going to college already let alone all of them," he said.
She giggled lightly while patting him on the arm playfully. "Oh stop it. You're just being nice," she said.
She paused before squeezing his bicep lightly. "Oh wow," she mumbled.
She looked up at him. "That must have taken a lot of work," she said.
"It really isn't as much as you would expect. Just consistent effort. You'll find that as long as you stick to regularly working out with me you'll see yourself changing before you even realise it," he said.
She giggled. "I'll hold you to that," she said with a faux threatening look.
They took a seat at one of the tables in the little cafe area of the gym. He ordered them two drinks. If she decided to go with him he would easily make back the couple of dollars for a drink after all.
He smiled at her from across the table. "So is your husband joining our gym too? We offer a couples discount on memberships and classes," he said.
She shook her head and her smile dimmed slightly. "No, he spends most of his time at work," she said.
It didn't take her long to perk up though. "Another reason to get out the house and socialise a little more though," she added.
He smiled. "Well I'm available after school most days," he said.
She raised an eyebrow. "School?" She asked.
"Right, I'm still going to school so I work afternoons, evenings and weekends," he said.
"Oh wow. My son struggles to keep up with school even without holding a job. I'm impressed," she said.
"Thanks. With a little scheduling it really isn't that bad," he said.
She shook her head with a smile. "I wish it were that easy and you could just teach my son," she said.
She took a sip of her drink while collecting her thoughts.
"So I thought you might be a little too young, but you seem more mature than I expected," she said.
He nodded a little eager in expectation.
She smiled watching his nervous behaviour. "But I would like to give you a chance," she finally said.
