Chapter 1331: Raining Blood (Part 5)
"Tear them apart."
As Evan's words fell, Gustav and the other Core Evolvers—trapped inside the Shadow World—suddenly felt tens of thousands of new presences appear out of nowhere.
Then, as if ignited like lanterns in the dark, countless deep purple, burning eyes snapped open across the blackened walls of the Shadow World.
Because of the strange entity Evan had summoned earlier, most of the low-level guards—aside from Gustav and other high-ranking Rank Three and Four Core Evolvers—had instinctively rushed toward the walls of the Shadow World, desperately trying to break free and escape.
However, due to their close proximity to the walls, they had no time to react when the Shadow Undeads appeared.
As a result—
"Arghhhh!!!" "Arghhhh!!!" - - - - -
Agonized screams tore through the air as nearly half of the Core Evolvers closest to the walls were impaled by a variety of deadly weapons, all wielded by the Shadow Undeads.
The weapons used by Evan's Shadow Undeads weren't of exceptionally high grade—most of them were Rank Two.
However, these weapons were forged by the Lava Demons Evan had brought into the closed world of the Drayds.
Since Lava Demons were masters of weapon craftsmanship, the combat capabilities of his Shadow Undeads had increased significantly due to their superior craftsmanship.
Of course, his main Shadow Undeads—Elysia, Gobu, Zorda, Nekros, Eclipse, and the others—were equipped with high-level Rank Four weapons.
As the war with Winterclaw approached, Evan was doing everything in his power to increase his strength.
One after another, the Shadow Undeads emerged from the blackened walls of the Shadow World, their very presence filling the air with an eerie, deadly aura.
Those who had successfully impaled the Core Evolvers with their weapons let out ferocious roars, lifting their victims high into the air as if raising the flags of war.
Had this battle taken place elsewhere, many might not have recognized these creatures.
After all, it had been thousands of years since the Shadow Monarch disappeared.
However, in the Northern Territory, where the Eternal Night event occurred, not a single high-level Core Evolver was unaware of the Shadow Monarch and the devastation he had wrought upon here.
"This—"
A dreadful chill ran through Gustav and the other Core Evolvers as they watched nearly fifty thousand Shadow Undeads march out of the Shadow World's walls, completely surrounding them.
Their bodies stiffened as their heads slowly turned—like lifeless machines—toward the bald monk standing some distance away from them.
Seeing the monk's cold, unwavering gaze locked onto them, an uncontrollable fear crept into their souls, making their bodies tremble.
"Wh-who are you?"
Gustav's voice trembled as he spoke, his entire body engulfed by an unnatural coldness.
Evan noticed their expressions shift the moment he summoned his Shadow Undeads, but he paid them no mind.
Right now, his thoughts were completely focused on the realization he had came earlier—one so insane that he wanted nothing more than to finish this battle as quickly as possible and return to the closed world of the Drayds to speak with Anastasia.
Instead of answering Gustav's question, Evan turned his gaze toward the monstrous entity standing behind him.
"Take care of that big guy," He ordered.
Hearing Evan's command, the creature turned its withered old woman's face toward him, its long white hair partially covering its twisted expression.
Then, its lips stretched into a grotesque smile—so wide it nearly reached its ears.
Evan's expression remained unchanged at the sight of the creature's smile, but in its ravenous eyes, he saw something undeniable—an insatiable hunger aimed directly at him.
"What a nasty creature..."
He muttered inwardly before shifting his gaze back to Gustav and the others.
"Make sure you don't damage his body too much. I need him intact. Otherwise—"
The moment those words left Evan's lips, the creature's expression briefly shifted.
A powerful force of rejection from the Material Plane surged through its body as if trying to forcefully banish it back into Void Space.
Although Evan wasn't looking at it directly, his spiritual senses immediately detected the subtle change in its expression. A strange glint flickered in his eyes.
'Now I'm even more certain about my guess.'
The creature stared at Evan for a brief moment before letting out a snort—a sound filled with clear dissatisfaction.
Then, with a single powerful leap, it lunged toward Gustav.
Gustav stood frozen in terror as the creature charged at him. Even though its rank was lower than his, he was absolutely terrified of it.
After all, it had already demonstrated an ability far beyond comprehension—an attack that erased not only countless lives but also reality itself.
Using the power of the Shadow World, Evan isolated Gustav and the creature in a separate battlefield, ensuring their fight would not interfere with the rest of the battle.
"Let's end this quickly."
Muttering to himself, Evan turned his attention to Bromal and the remaining guards before giving his Shadow Undeads the signal to move in.
Immediately, Elysia, Gobu, Zorda, Nekros, Eclipse, Aqua and the other elite Shadow Undeads charged toward the high-ranking Core Evolvers.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Shadow Undeads surged toward the large group of trembling guards, who stood paralyzed with fear at the sight of nearly fifty thousand undead warriors.
Evan watched the battlefield unfold before him and then took a single step forward—
A mere instant later, he reappeared directly above Bromal, who was the second strongest among them, only inferior to Gustav.
Bromal had been frantically trying to break free from the Shadow World, but suddenly—
His entire body felt unbearably heavy.
It was as if space itself had solidified, crushing down on him.
Then—
"Doner, I told you… your soul is stained with the blood of the innocent." A cold voice echoed from above.
Bromal's breath hitched, and with trembling fear, he slowly raised his head.
Standing there, floating above him, was the bald monk—his eyes cold and merciless.
"As the true advocate of peace… I must punish you on behalf of the souls you have wronged."
As the monk's words fell, a black hole-like energy sphere pulsating ominously appeared in his hand.
And before Bromal could even react—
"Void Rupture!"
The energy sphere was hurled toward his face.
